That's what the actual recall was about..... there wasn't a recall regarding any electronic issue. -
If you're just web surfing and playing iTunes, any processor fast enough to handle Windows 7 is enough to do that.

You probably have to drain at least some coolant, but I think on Hondas it's an easy switch once you get the hoses off.

It's about 5 degrees here, if it was overheating while he was moving, it's not the fan.

Look at the simplest thing first. Is the thermostat stuck closed? It's typically a very very cheap replacement to do on your own. Usually only 2 bolts.

I thought there was still a physical issue with the electronic gas pedal where the friction points used to simulate a real gas pedal's feel would actually have too much friction and the pedal would not return to an idle state when the foot was removed. -
Can you post the BsOD code? It may point towards the problem.
