  1. No rule about posting here first. Post anywhere you like and post often! We love the discussion!
  2. looking at the peak numbers isn't enough on these direct injection engines. I don't have the chart for the V6, but the 4-cylinder gets 90% of max torque at just 1,700rpm. That's very good for a non-turbo 4-cylinder.
  3. Hell they almost look real!
  4. But he didn't. He just went on a witch hunt.
  5. I don't think that really ends it per say.... more like pauses it.
  6. I don't feel like I'm being tied down.
  7. We'll do our ceremony on our own schedule and we'll be married in our hearts even if the state doesn't agree. If Pennsylvania ever decides to crawl out of the past, we'll do another small simple ceremony again to make it official in PA's eyes.
  8. I'm 5'10". I pushed the seat all the way back and confirmed that at it's most rearward setting, there is only 3 inches left. However, even with my legs stretched straight out towards the pedals, I had about 10 inches to go before I'd even touch them. When the seat is adjusted for me (and I am the physical mean in terms of height in the U.S.), there is plenty of room in the back. People 6'6", yeah, I could see where you'd have issues. I'm guessing you'd have the same issue in the 5-series or E-class. The acceleration of the CTS wagon is very brisk though it will almost always downshift twice to give you the speed you want. The CTS feels lighter and more delicate than the Lacrosse I just had. If I were to relate both cars in terms of heft and acceleration to a European model, the Lacrosse would feel like a 7/8s S-class. Cadillac is clearly trying to make the CTS feel C-class like while delivering the size of an E-class.
  9. Reg, I stand corrected. While I was out today I took note and they are in fact Bridgestone Blizzaks. No wonder I'm driving through the blizzard thinking everyone else was just being a drama queen.
  10. We'll be having the ceremony here in Pittsburgh most likely.
  11. actually, all I did was censor my own comments. If I start posting my thoughts in this thread, it'll have to get moved to the Politics forum. edit: HAHA SOMEONE REPPED ME DOWN FOR IT! loser.
  12. I'm looking for that setting and I don't see it. I'll have to do some more research.
  13. I passed my exam last night and It's a beautiful, sunny day up here in Toronto eh? Gonna take the CTS out for a spin up to Oshawa. TED, I left you my number on Facebook. Call me if you want to meet up. I check out of here tomorrow.
  14. Na, we don't much care if it's recognized by the state right now or not. Eventually we'll want it to be, but we're getting married whether PA likes it or not.
  15. and all I want to know is what percentage that is. I'm betting that even a CR-V that is built in Ohio gives a smaller percentage back than a Malibu built at Fairfax. and many of the transplants don't pay property taxes.... that's how municipalities lure them there.
  16. Some of you, the ones who have me added on Facebook, know this already. For the rest of you who don't know, I am now engaged to be married. I asked Albert on NYE just after the count down and he of course said yes. Things are still in the super early planning stages so I don't have any more details to give at this point. We're both very happy and I miss Albert lots right now. (spending this week in Toronto and next in Detroit) For those of you who don't get the reference in the title of this thread, it's from Dan Savage the sex columnist whom I highly recommend you watch on youtube because he is f@#king hilarious.
  17. The RAV-4 is rubbish, you and I both know that.
  18. GM could produce a fully working model of Christ and the press would complain that the water to wine function only dispenses Merlot.
  19. I think the CR-V is built in Ohio
  20. Peachy. What percentage of the purchase price of the car stays in the U.S.? That is the key metric.
  21. I take it back as I was in a rush and didn't fully read your post. The 3.0 isn't a flaw as a top engine, but the 3.6 would be better. Remember, it's an SUV, not a sports car. I drove one for a weak and never felt wanting for power in terms of the vehicle it is. The 3.6 would be good for an MCE to make a Equinox SS or Terrain Denali. To harp on and on about the lack of the 3.6 in these vehicle ignores the fact that most of them will be sold with the I-4.
  22. Na, the 3.0's torque is great down low.
  23. The point of the GMC is for guys who wanted an H3 but couldn't justify the gasmilage to their wives. It's for guys that drive a 4-Runner, but realize they don't need a BOF 4x4 SUV for their 30 mile each way commute to work, still want an SUV but would never be caught dead in a RAV-4 or CRV. There is no other crossover in this segment that fits that profile other than the Terrain.
