    it's not just a 4-speed auto..... it's 4 fixed gears plus 2 electric CVTs. This transmission really needs a new name so people can get off this 4-speed rant.

    I think the manufacturer's thing got me because I would consider Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth to be one..... that's why I made up my answer.

    The EV-1 generation 2 had a range of about 100 miles per charge on NiMH Batteries. If it had Lithium Ion batteries, it might have been able to do 250 like the Tesla. Edit: I don't know if the EV-1s had regenerative braking or not. This guy test drove and EV-1 gen 2 for 5 days and on the 4th and 5th day he admittedly abused it and still got 83 miles to a charge..... this was in 1999.

    Uh. Didn't GM already produce a car with a 40+ mile range in the EV1?

    If it's a nice running DI Turbo 4 cylinder.... why not? By that time $3.50 a gallon will seem like a deal.

You can buy a Chevy Malibu... or a Chevy Malibu Volt You can buy a Buick LaCrosse... or a Buick LaCrosse Electra You can buy a Cadillac CTS... or a Cadillac CTS - E You can buy a GMC Yukon... or a GMC Yukon Electromotive You can buy a Saturn Aura... or a Saturn Aura Power-line Sorry, I couldn't come up with one for Pontiac..... but I did most of the heavy lifting here.
