  1. It's mostly because the car does most of the driving for you.
  2. That would be awesome. That engine with ~350hp and a manual would be incredible. And might very well render the V superfluous. Well it makes 400hp and 400 lb-ft in the CT6, so I dunno why you'd want to detune it from that.
  3. True to all that. And the C63 has the best interior, best turning circle, largest trunk and somehow the best EPA fuel economy rating, best passing power. I also would skip the carbon brakes and save $5,400. The Nissan GT-R can hammer a Corvette in a 0-60 sprint and beat it on a race track, yet I doubt the Corvette fans here would buy a GT-R just because it is has a good Nurburgring time and video game launch control. Cadillac has put the performance in the ATS-V, but all three of these cars are basically the same (imagine if the Lexus IS-F was in that test, it would be have been embarrassed). But the same issues the base ATS has with interior space, interior trim, CUE, etc are all still there. Really I think all 3 of these cars are $5-10,000 over priced, the base models of all these are like $35,000 and these cars are near $80,000. Oh yes.. because the ability to make a U-Turn is a huge concern to every buyer. The EPA rating on the ATS-V is super conservative. Take it out on the highway and drive it like your grandmother is in the back seat, you'll get into the mid-30s.
  4. The "simple" fix would just be to use the 3.0TT.
  5. There are 4 engines ranging from 200hp to 464hp, 3 transmissions, and AWD or RWD...... what do you see is missing?
  6. I think Scion has been no-haggle for years.
  7. At the moment, I think the only way to do that is to build the Commercial vans somewhere else. I suppose with the expansion of Arlington, they could move there, but there won't be any further production increases for the 2016 model year that we haven't already heard about.
  8. BTW, Cadillac ATPs are now higher than BMW... and the CT6 hasn't even gone on sale yet.
  9. You haven't been in an Avalon lately I take it.
  10. I did the same thing supporting your post on the Mustang numbers, did I not?
  11. Drew. this was my post that created such an outrage, and kindly note, it's all about numbers. And I provided the analysis of those numbers that you omitted.
  12. One would have though you would have noticed by now that we are very fact and numbers based around here. Not "Fox News Outrage" numbers twisted in a way to look favorable to a given bias... but actual numbers an reasoning behind them. I've already pointed out why your original post was the latter and not the former. And I have also backed up your numbers and corrected others when you were right.... so don't act like I'm playing favorites.
  13. My test with the Volt was in winter time and it was fantastic. Just schlepping around town and plugging it in at night I got something like 700mpg since I never used the gas. I have a garage, so plugging it in wasn't an issue... pull in, close the door, pop the plug cover, plug it in, go inside. The great thing (possibly my favorite thing) about the Volt was the ability to turn it on remotely and have it pre-heat itself off of house current even with the garage door closed. now that is EXTREMELY appealing, is there a safeguard in place so that under no condition the gas engine will start in that scenario? When it is plugged in, the gas engine will not start. The only issue is if you forgot to plug in the car, then the gas motor could start, but due to a recall, it will now shut off after 10 minutes of no activity.
  14. Is that all it is? Wow. Based on the trash talk from some I woulda thought it was TENS OF THOUSANDS OF UNITS. ...you know, like the advantage the GM half-tons have. well it is tens of thousands of units YTD (and YTD is the number that truly matters). Wings is correct in that regard that the Mustang is 26k units ahead of Camaro YTD and that is a sizable lead for this segment. There's probably not even 30k Gen-5 Camaros left to be built before production stops at the end of October/beginning of November. So there is basically zero chance of the Camaro catching Mustang this year. However, cheering that victory would be like me cheering for myself for winning a bicycle race against Lance Armstrong while Lance Armstrong has a broken leg. I don't believe that lead will be held as the new Camaro comes on full swing in the Springtime 2016 (traditionally when sport car sales heat up).
  15. I'm not afraid to use the warning system. He's gotten his verbal warning. Where we go from there is up to him.
  16. If you don't mind leasing, the deals on the Volt really would save you money. Very true but I tend to keep my cars for more than a few years these days so financing one is not a big deal for me. True, but run the numbers. You usually get the full force of the tax credit built right in and GM likes leasing them. My friends ended up leasing theirs so cheap, the savings in fuel costs each month (they came from an old Pathfiner or 4Runner) completely covered the monthly leasing costs. It also only increased their electric bill about $35 a month.
  17. I completely agree. I don't see next year's numbers looking quite as good because almost everybody's numbers are up right now There is still going to be sales gains for a while... the average age of cars out there is 11 years.
  18. ~ Floyd Clymer, independent automobile tester, 1948 Studebaker Champion coupe. 2690 lbs. Most of the useless weight is typically sitting in the driver's seat.
  19. If you don't mind leasing, the deals on the Volt really would save you money.
  20. The 42mpg EPA rating is actually a bit of a disservice to the Volt since the actual results can vary so widely.... it needs to be more of a range of efficiency rather than a single number. The rating was done on a conservative side because since day one, everything pertaining to this car has been a political maelstrom to disservice GM. In the current Volt I have friends and colleagues that see 50MPG regularly when the EV is done. I'm betting smart money that this one is gonna beat that number by at least 10 in tests. I have friends that have a Volt and only fill up 3 times a year, but still do 15,000 miles a year. They're just in the perfect part of the segment with 30 mile round trip commutes.
  21. True... but not like Cadillac. Lincoln's sales growth has mostly been at the bottom end of it's portfolio.... which is fine... Lincoln needs the growth. Cadillac has specifically said they are not going to chase volume at the expense of profits. Which is also fine. Escalade ATP is up $20k over the previous model. CTS ATP is up and even though volumes aren't that of the previous model, it also has 2 fewer body styles and one missing trim level (up till now, the CTS-V hasn't been available) Furthermore, even though I didn't call it out earlier, the 21% up for the month can also mean that Lincoln just had a crappy July 2014. Which... since we keep all of the results in the archives... I can actually easily go look up Lincoln's July 2014 sales numbers. And lo and behold, Lincoln was down 9.1% for July 2014 if you exclude the MKC which was a brand new model then.... so half of that 21% growth in July 2015 is just making up for a crappy July 2014. The other half is MKC and MKX. Lincoln is only up 8.1% YTD. Cadillac is down 2.4% YTD, but with a $7,000 increase in transaction prices on average and $20k increase in the Escalade. 2.4% down YTD isn't even the missing sales from the CTS coupe. All of that aside, the fact remains that the only reason Wings put his statement the way he did was to troll.
  22. Wings....its not only a ban from MT Forums... You cried to the mods once....they up voted my down votes... You cried to the mods twice...they fixed your downvotes a second time... You cried to the mods thrice...they removed th downvote system... I found this hilarous actually. I went on vacation and came back and I thought my phone just was being a dick. Come to find out that it had to be turned off?!?! That's today's society.. Gotta make everybody happy because one person unhappy... I turned it off because I was going on vacation myself and wanted to stop the misuse of the voting system. I just wanted to have a relaxing vacation. Yes...very understandable indeed... However...the misuse of the system constitutes of Wings crying to you about the downvoting... In other words... Wings is whining to you...like all the time...for his crappy reputation....to which he actually deserves...hence the downvotes he gets... Sure...not all his posts and threads are bad and crappy....some of it is quite informative... OK...for every good thread and post he makes....he has 3 crappy ones... 3 to 1 ratio. So....who cares even if his good posts get downvoted? He is a man-child... Most of his posts are crap. He gets what he deserves... There are plenty of Aesop fables one could use here... Ill use the famous "cry wolf" one... His crying wolf is two fold... When and if he ceases to be such a troll....his reputation will slowly improve negating his need to defend himself so often... And there will be no need to cry wolf to you either. Continue having a fab vacation. And Im sorry If Im causing you a headache as we speak. Its just that I like to speak my mind and give you my opinion on things. My opinion may be far from reality too, but its how I view things... And...correct me if you need to and guide me through my imperfections. I mean that sincerely. Actually, a couple people from both sides complained to me about the down-voting. And both sides are guilty of retaliatory down voting even though I repeatedly asked for it to stop. I can see the voting trends and there are lots of guilty parties. People have been downvoting posts by Wings that are purely informative and should not be down voted. He has (equally childishly IMHO) gone through with retaliatory voting... which gets him more retaliation votes back. I asked all sides to stop.... they didn't... I turned off down voting so I could go on vacation and not worry. On the voting issue.... all of ya'll are bratty 2-year olds..... not just one.
  23. I turned it off because I was going on vacation myself and wanted to stop the misuse of the voting system. I just wanted to have a relaxing vacation. Understandable, So where'd you go for vacation?? Boulder Colorado. Awesome! I've never been to Colorado but I've always wanted to go there. It just looks so damn pretty. i'll put up an album of pictures in a day or so.
