So.. it seems like they are going to play ads just to listen to my own music collection? If that stays, I'll won't be using that service anymore.

Buick News: Rumorpile: What's In the Pipeline for Buick
Drew Dowdell replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
I imagine that architecture will be going away. There is supposedly another SUV coming as well. I'm surprised Verano is still that far off. I expected it sooner. The current one is still nice, but getting a tit bit dated -
What about front page stock tickers for the publicly traded ones?

Those are great ideas that might even be their own third category.

I'm not indecisive... I just want to be able to relax on my upcoming vacation. Downvoting will return after I return. If it continues to be an issue, I may look at other solutions as well. -

Screw it.... on my vacation you guys can only vote up. If you don't like it... well you can't vote me down now can you? -

Okay, can everyone just take a break from voting for a bit? The guys that came from MT, could you please leave the interpersonal drama over there? I can see everyone's voting habits and it is clear that a select few are playing scorched earth with the voting system. I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow and I want to know that you're know going to blow the place up. I can set it to only positive voting, but I don't want to because there are times when a negative vote is warranted. Just be pals and talk cars. It's that simple. -
http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/21178-chevy-ftw/?p=355209 I originally posted this in January 2008, but re-posting it for the new-comers. Posted 11 January 2008 - 09:50 AM A new, unrelated, Chevy FTW. So I'm driving down a 3 lane commercial highway when I hear this loud burble-burble. Up comes this tool in a previous gen Golf with about 400lbs of body mods and a fart can exhausts. From the *sound* of it, it was a standard 4-cylinder, I heard no turbo and.. well it sounded like a 4banger. He's being an idiot making all sorts of "look at me" noises with his fart can. I'm in the Avalanche at the light in the left lane, Golf Tool is in the center lane, and up pulls Gramps* in the right lane in a black, current generation Impala SS. Golf tool is sitting there reving his engine but I don't know who he was aiming for because I'm in a truck and why would you pick a fight with some old guy. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Light changes to green and Golf-tool has surprisingly good reaction time and takes off out in front. Gramps wakes up and realizes what's going on and decides to throw the hammer down. Golf tool gets pwned. I'm following behind in the truck, not even trying, watching the whole scene and laughing. The 3 of us make it to the next light. Golf tool is irritated now and decides to try it again. Only this time Gramps is completely awake from his nap. Light changes green and they're both off.... The Impala SS is barking it's tires but he still pwns Golf tool again. Golf tool runs off down the commercial highway while Gramps and I take the on ramp to the interstate. I get up next to Gramps and give him a thumbs up... which he returns with a smile. *Basically, Lutz with darker hair.

Changing the color combinations is not a refresh. Changing the shift knob is not a refresh. Updating the Navi-software to include AndroidAuto or Apple Car Play is not a refresh.- 34 replies

Brake Bleeding... theres got to be a better way.
Drew Dowdell replied to SAmadei's topic in Tech Section
How much vacuum are you planning to pull.... and why are you using DOT3? DOT4 is supposed to be much better. Minimum DOT4 boiling point is 446F (without a vacuum) Minimum DOT3 boiling point is 401F (without a vacuum) Amsoil DOT4 claims to be good to 580F I can't imagine you would be able to pull enough cause it to boil off. You just need to pull all the old fluid out first and then let the new stuff flow behind to clear out bubbles. -

That interior is a new color combo for the denali, also has different wood trim, and a new shifter handle. The light color option is sure to reel in a few new buyers, I'm a sucker for light/dark contrast myself. That's not a refresh.- 34 replies

Lacrosse has a 31k base price but they sell mostly the higher equipment models. The base 4 cylinder has a ridiculously low take rate. -
I can't wait to see it! Minions are my favorite!

In more than a few states, costs are indeed shrinking. Off the top of my head, Virginia is showing 10%+ insurance cost reductions. There are others showing reductions as well.
-
And within context--which you know since you read that far--attributing that to Obamacare is dubious at best. That article is a year old. Healthcare cost growth continues to be low and the economy is growing again and has been for most the the past few years.... so can't still be attributing it to the great recession.

That doesn't change the fact that trains v. cars v. planes is not zero sum.

Seriously??? ? Wait.. to test or buy..? lol as a test. There are two journalist events I go to each spring and the MKX will most likely be there. NICE! So far I think it looks fantastic. If I had the money I'd be in an MKC instead of an Escape(albeit a Titanium). From your professional opinion, how much better is a Lincoln over a Titanium trimmed Ford? The Titanium doesn't seem to be much of an upgrade at all over a standard trim Ford. The MKC is an upgrade over the Escape, but I'm not sure it is worth the price tag Lincoln is asking. That is as much a reflection on how good the Escape is as it is how the Lincoln's interior isn't where I think it should be for a luxury marque.

This just baffles me. I've never not set my destination or itinerary when in Europe. One of the great things my partner and I love about our home-away-from-home of Cologne, Germany is that we can get anywhere we want, anytime we want and never need a car to do it. The only time we use a car is if we're going out to one of the rural castles, and even then there is only a minority of them that can't be reached by transit. I hope you get to experience the additional freedom of a robust rail network someday. You'll see how it compliments the car rather than detracts from it.
