  1. Do try to pay attention to the articles we write. JDN has already announced a twin turbo V8 and the time line it would appear in the CT6. The only thing that hasn't been announced is the specs, but even at 4.0 liters, it would be around 533 horsepower.
  2. We will see a 500+ horsepower V6 in the 2017 calendar year, basically 18 months after initial on-sale date. BMW, Benz, and Audi stagger their engine launches too so don't give me any "Why isn't it available at launch" crap.
  3. CTS - 2.0T, 3.6, 3.6TT, 6.2 S/C CT6 - 2.0T, 2.0TH, 3.6, 3.0TT and 4.0ishTT coming for 2018 So yes... they're basically twins in the engine lineup... except where they're not.
  4. Late 80s Cutlass Cierra International Coupe. 2-tone black with gray lower body cladding. From 40 feet, it looked to be a museum piece. These are 3800 powered which was a good lot of engine for the day for such a lightweight car. In this configuration, it is a rather rare piece though not worth much monetarily.
  5. My crv just pissed oil all over the driveway. The last oil change was 3 weeks ago. It looks like a bad oil filter seal. The filter was on so tight I had to get a wrench to get it off. Put a new filter on and filed it back up with mobile one and put cardboard under it to watch for more leaks.
  6. I could see the XTS going livery only soon.
  7. From the Cadillac press release on the CT6
  8. Engines aren't mutually exclusive. More choices for consumers is a good thing. Who cares if the 2.0T is the base engine as long as the 2.0TH, 3.6, 3.0TT and 4.0TT are options? I'm not going to tell Cadillac they shouldn't offer a certain engine just because it isn't the engine I would chose. What an absurd idea.
  9. Because 260 horsepower is sufficient for most people.... in fact, 180hp is sufficient for most people or else the Camry, Accord, and Altima wouldn't sell with a 75%+ take rate on the 4-cylinder models. The 2.0T is fine as a base engine in the CT6 because it weighs less than a 335xi in spite of being substantially larger. The eAssist Lacrosse is actually there for the traditional buyers who liked the frugality of the 3800 and don't care about 0-60 times. The 2.5 in the ATS is about the same horsepower rating as its competition and it gets the ATS in at a lower base price. But you already know all of this because you've been told it many times. You have to get over yourself. Not everyone has the same need for speed that you do.
  10. Just do a second coat with spray tanner.
  11. So.. it seems like they are going to play ads just to listen to my own music collection? If that stays, I'll won't be using that service anymore.
  12. CAFE says no such thing.
  13. I imagine that architecture will be going away. There is supposedly another SUV coming as well. I'm surprised Verano is still that far off. I expected it sooner. The current one is still nice, but getting a tit bit dated
  14. What about front page stock tickers for the publicly traded ones?
  15. Those are great ideas that might even be their own third category.
  16. Time for an AC recharge too
  17. Are you interested in the following: 1. Automotive industry Financials - like stock performance, manufacturers financial health 2. Personal automotive finance - financing, leasing, insurance, prepaid service plans, etc
  18. I'm not indecisive... I just want to be able to relax on my upcoming vacation. Downvoting will return after I return. If it continues to be an issue, I may look at other solutions as well.
  19. Screw it.... on my vacation you guys can only vote up. If you don't like it... well you can't vote me down now can you?
  20. Okay, can everyone just take a break from voting for a bit? The guys that came from MT, could you please leave the interpersonal drama over there? I can see everyone's voting habits and it is clear that a select few are playing scorched earth with the voting system. I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow and I want to know that you're know going to blow the place up. I can set it to only positive voting, but I don't want to because there are times when a negative vote is warranted. Just be pals and talk cars. It's that simple.
  21. http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/21178-chevy-ftw/?p=355209 I originally posted this in January 2008, but re-posting it for the new-comers. Posted 11 January 2008 - 09:50 AM A new, unrelated, Chevy FTW. So I'm driving down a 3 lane commercial highway when I hear this loud burble-burble. Up comes this tool in a previous gen Golf with about 400lbs of body mods and a fart can exhausts. From the *sound* of it, it was a standard 4-cylinder, I heard no turbo and.. well it sounded like a 4banger. He's being an idiot making all sorts of "look at me" noises with his fart can. I'm in the Avalanche at the light in the left lane, Golf Tool is in the center lane, and up pulls Gramps* in the right lane in a black, current generation Impala SS. Golf tool is sitting there reving his engine but I don't know who he was aiming for because I'm in a truck and why would you pick a fight with some old guy. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Light changes to green and Golf-tool has surprisingly good reaction time and takes off out in front. Gramps wakes up and realizes what's going on and decides to throw the hammer down. Golf tool gets pwned. I'm following behind in the truck, not even trying, watching the whole scene and laughing. The 3 of us make it to the next light. Golf tool is irritated now and decides to try it again. Only this time Gramps is completely awake from his nap. Light changes green and they're both off.... The Impala SS is barking it's tires but he still pwns Golf tool again. Golf tool runs off down the commercial highway while Gramps and I take the on ramp to the interstate. I get up next to Gramps and give him a thumbs up... which he returns with a smile. *Basically, Lutz with darker hair.
  22. No real noticeable difference I think.
  23. Changing the color combinations is not a refresh. Changing the shift knob is not a refresh. Updating the Navi-software to include AndroidAuto or Apple Car Play is not a refresh.
  24. Buick may be going to a 4 crossover lineup soon.
