  1. GM unit sales are up 4.1% for the year and transaction prices are way up. GM and Cadillac are not going to be having a cash problem any time soon.
  2. I've seen all but #1 and #2 in the wild. Unless you count seeing #1 at the Saab booth at the auto show.
  3. It's purely a US thing though. It's available as a manual across the line in foreign markets.
  4. LOL! Have you seen the show? I LOVE the character.
  5. The ATS coupe is on sale now... I've driven it twice since July.
  6. I have some more of these around too
  7. There is no R&D to spend that isn't already spent. They already make the transmission and already build some trucks that way.
  8. When I'm not on my phone, I need to take a closer look at those numbers
  9. The numbers here don't look good for the BMW group... down 2.3% in an up economy?
  10. Keep in mind that the old 200 would have been close to out of production this time last year and would have been dwindling in inventory. Cherokee has been sustaining about that monthly volume for at least 6 months now. It was only launched in September of 2013 due to the transmission reprogramming, so it would have still been relatively new to the lots at that time. Charger is going to dwindle a bit as well, the new Chargers aren't quite on the lots yet. Compass and Patriot numbers tell me that Jeep needs some direct replacements for those cars. They aren't going to get those owners into a Renegade, it will be too much size shock. They won't get into a Cherokee, too much price shock.
  11. I know Titan is coming to Detroit. Frontier if I remember from a report I wrote beck earlier this year is still a few years out. That's it, got them mixed up
  12. Looks like it's going to be a truck heavy show this year. I think Frontier may be coming too?
  13. 2015 Jetta refresh and possible cash on the hood on the older models would be my guess on the surge. There was a Jetta refresh? </sarcasm>
  14. People already do. At least 25% of all GMCs sold are Denali editions.
  15. Not really, the entire lineup is being supported by Golf and an unusual surge in Jetta
  16. I wonder what his rumored foe will be driving. It is rumored to be Andrew Scott who became internationally famous for his protrayal of Jim Moriarty in the Sherlock series. (of which I am a huge fan!)
  17. I think they've turned the corner
  18. Well... no. You're right about the BMW, but not about the Volt. When the battery is depleted, the gas generator to electric motor connection is essentially direct... meaning the gas motor generates just a little more than just enough juice to run the power demands of the electric motor. Any excess that spills over into the battery is just stored for later. The Volt is set up the same way diesel-electric locomotives work except that almost locomotives don't have batteries for storage (there are a few locomotives with batteries out there, but they are mostly proof of concept prototypes and not in wide circulation)
  19. I'm sure they are put together impeccably, but I agree with you on the look.
  20. We'll need to have a D-fib on the ready when SMK reads that. The 7-series is completely underwhelming this days... clearly at the back of the pack in that class. It is for people who only buy BMWs and need the largest one. Sitting in one is like a time-warp back to 1994. The A8 and S-Class are superior and the K900 and Genesis are dangerously close. Once you figure in the money factor, spending the coin on a 7-series over a Genesis or even an XTS simply doesn't make sense.... unless you're only after the badge like SMK is.
  21. The F-150 simply wasn't a game changer like the Colorado/Canyon are. It's was among the heaviest vehicle in its class for years. It only beats a Ram 1500 RWD V6 by 1mpg on the highway but the Ram does it without expensive body materials or turbo-chargers, just their excellent 8-Speed transmission. The Silverado is only 2mpg behind and it doesn't even have an 8-speed yet which is clearly on the way.
  22. What bothers me about the Impala number is that they don't break out Impala v. Impala Limited. What if Hertz pulled back on Impala Limited purchases this month? It tells me nothing about how the retail Impala is doing.
  23. #7 The Wranger - They just don't get it. #11 - I'm not the biggest fan, but the car suits its market #2 - If you care about performance, get the V-Sport.... if you don't care, get the standard V6... problem solved.
  24. The kid that tries way too hard to be cool.
