  1. It would certainly be the MPG king for your commute verse the Colorado. Even in AWD form, our Encore typically sees 33mpg - 35mpg highway
  2. I'm kinda expecting a bigger squarer CTS.
  3. I can say from experience that the AWD in my Encore is fantastic. I'm assuming that they're using the same system in the Trax. The nice thing about the system is that from a dead stop, it starts in a Subaru-like 50/50 front/rear power split.... once you get rolling and the system decides you're not slipping, it dials it back into being a FWD vehicle. It's the exact opposite of our Honda which only will engage the rear wheels once the front starts to slip... and then only sometimes.
  4. yeah, I think being first to market will really help to. Get lots of momentum before the Renegade, Fit Crosstour, and CX-3 hit the ground. Ford and Hyundai are conspicuously absent in this segment.
  5. I thought it was going on sale January 2. It's not like they have to turn up production from scratch or anything. Swap out the gauge cluster from KM to MPH, and done.
  6. THATS where they're from! I knew I had seen those vents before!
  7. Yes... by more than double. The CR-V has 15s and the Encore has 18s.
  8. VW reliability is very dependent on their country of origin.
  9. How about a timely one... the original Acura NSX?
  10. Well... CEOs...
  11. Psst. You better let BMW know then... they're selling 3-series starting at $31k and Audi is selling A4s for $34k. Shame BMW is struggling so much
  12. The base ATS 2.5 is $28k, so $4k below the base price of the CLA. If you read what I said, at the CLA price range, you can get an ATS with more power.
  13. But doesn't the DOHCS make it more gooder than a Corvette V8 with pushrods?!
  14. How about the Chrysler Benz merger?
  15. Cadillac should now restate their quest now that the Germans are going into the general consumer market. Let Buick handle the little FWD premium cars and keep Cadillac out of it. The CLA is now $32k... why would anyone in their right mind buy the pathetic CLA over an equally priced and more powerful ATS now except for badge snobbery? Heck, even a Regal is a much better buy than the CLA or A3.
  16. I like a lot of those BV, but not sure the Rondo counts as fabulous in any way. To clarify, it's not just about a flop of an idea or car, but more of a grand idea.... an attempt to step outside the status quo only to fail to catch on that we are going for.
  17. Flop. It'd be so easy too! Good idea! I really liked them when they came out, but that was before I bought a house and the apartment buildings and needed something that actually could haul more than a few pillows.

    Flops?

Guys, I'd like to re-start the great Fabulous Flops series we had going. What are some great flops that you would like to see us cover?
  19. No one develops the coupe at the same time as the convertible anymore. It hasn't been done that way as a rule for well over 20 years.
  20. Sonic 5-door... yes.
  21. Dear comment spammers. You'll find this board is incredibly spam free. There is a reason for that. Don't bother.
  22. I just put snow tires on the CR-V which will be the primary Winter duty vehicle. $300 from Tirerack - $40 installed at Costco. Next year I'll get them for the Encore... they were just more than I wanted to spend right now.
  23. As I've found out from owning it. It's because the front passenger seat folds flat. I've used it as a work desk when on trips.
  24. Nope, don't think so. VW, unlike GM, has had the ability to decently manage a bunch of very different brands by not building carbon coies of each other wearing different badges. How well are Skoda and SEAT doing these days really?
