  1. These actually handle pretty well... but styling is so "meh"
  2. Im comparing to the current EClass. Benz has been falling behind even themselves in interior quality. And Cadillac provides a microfiber cloth, for the black panels.
  3. Apple should have bought them instead....
  4. From lumbering brougham To Menacing Luxury From Stealth Fighter To Heavy weight fighter
  5. eh... that's cherry picking on the last one.
  6. "to supply for 20XX" - it could be any coming vehicle... not just trucks. GM has been using various aluminium panels in cars for years. The last Riviera had an aluminium hood and I believe both Auroras did too. There is still a LOT in GM's product pipeline yet to be revealed... the product onslaught from them so far and into the future (that is, the shear volume of new models) is really impressive for a company that just went through BK. The truck and SUV lineup is pretty much all new. They have 2 new small crossovers and 3 just refreshed large crossovers. New Impala, new Lacrosse, new Regal, new Malibu, new ATS and CTS, relatively fresh XTS. New corvette, refresh Camaro. Even the stuff I would consider old is still pretty new at this point.... Sonic, Cruze, Verano, Equinox/Terrain, SRX, Volt. It's really something that the Cruze and Volt are the two oldest vehicles in the GM lineup. (not counting fleet stuff like vans, captiva, and impala classic)
  7. The cts is ABOVE the e-class interior in materials.
  8. Start/stop doesn't use a traditional starter after the engine has warmed up does it? the GM start/stop doesn't, I know that much. uh.. my '81 Toronado has that... it's not like its a new thing.
  9. This is related to my recent disappearance. I won't say how... I was yelled at by security for even taking the pictures. Edit: I'll ask that you don't share the source all over.... it could have...repercussions.
  10. Sadly... I agree. Could Pontiac have been saved? Maybe... but the cost of failure could have meant the failure of all of GM. Saab should have been folded into Opel and the Chevy decision to pull out of Europe should have been made at BK day.
  11. I get more power and more premium feel in a Verano... plus bank vault quiet.
  12. Yours is a different style (the more reliable of the two). The Aurora uses standard rate metal springs with air adjustable shocks. The Buick Rainier (and Oldsmobile Bravada and Saab 9-7x and Others?!) use a rubber airbag and a standard shock. This is the setup in the Lincolns that you see kneeling low all the time. There is a lot of fear surrounding the airbag suspensions, but even a shade tree mechanic can repair them on his own.... the airbags are actually easier to replace than standard metal springs. If I owned one of these and the airbag went out, I would not replace it with the metal spring as Ocn suggested because the replacement is relatively easy and I could do it on my own. I would not want the sacrifice in ride quality that comes with the shift to metal.
  13. For $25k I can get a much better built and premium feeling Verano.
  14. It's more of an MKS and Lexus ES competitor, IMO. It's neither of those. The XTS doesn't compete against the MKS because the MKS is so massively outclassed by it and Lincoln has to lay a huge amount of cash on the hood for a car that isn't disguised enough from its Taurus origins. The XTS doesn't compete with the Lexus ES because it is a full $10k more expensive than the ES and substantially larger as well. The XTS plays in the same price class as CTS, E-Class, 5-series, and A6. It's calling card is that in this class, it is one of the largest offerings available in terms of passenger room and trunk space. Now sit down, this next part will be shocking to most people on this website...... There are people out there that care more about interior room than which wheels drive the car. Crazy! I know!! But Cadillac found 32k such buyers in 2013 with very few going to fleet sales. Is 32k the best sales in the class? No... that goes to BMW and Mercedes Benz holding the top two slots. But 32k XTSes is still more than what Audi sold of A6 (22k) or of what Lexus sold of GS (22k) or that Infiniti sold of M (9k) What that means is... in the $45k - $70k price class that the XTS plays in.. it actually took 3rd place, beating even the CTS (down a lot due to model change over) in 2013 sales. It handily beat out the Jaguar XF, the Hyundai Genesis (hard to determine exactly because Hyundai doesn't break out coupe sales figures and the car sells for $10k less anyway) and the Acura RL/RLX. I expect the XTS to retreat to 4th place as CTS sales pick back up... but still, in this class, Cadillac holding the 3rd and 4th place slots is not the worst position to be in.
  15. I think it is weather killing sales right now. Who wants to test drive cars in this slop?!
  16. I can't imagine them not using direct injection at this point after including it for the BR-Z.
  17. Given GM's lack of direction at the time... it was probably there so Pontiac could throw their nose on it too and call it a Pontiac TransForm SV8
  18. Do a worst car list in a separate thread
  19. I didn't think these were even in production yet.
  20. Interesting that the Tundra and Titan would get a V8 Diesel from Cummins while Dodge would only have an I-6. Also interesting that Nissan didn't tie up Cummins in an exclusive contract. I thought Toyota has their own diesel technology in trucks overseas... maybe it isn't clean enough to sell here.
  21. Isn't it a shame that today, all coupes look the same... back in my day, coupes had character!.....and formal roof lines
  22. if you open the ad, there are 9 very nice pictures of that Vette. About the only things right are "rwd", "v8", and "Automatic"
