1. I re-read this thread last night, I had completely forgotten about my random roast beef sex comments from way back when.
2. 2nd gen Intrepid up the ass of a tanker trailer. That wedge shape really seemed to be bad, since the care just kept going and going under the truck. The bumper of the truck was almost to the windshield of the Intrepid. Either the Dodge driver was going really fast (considering the section of road and time of day, unlikely) or they picked the worst car ever to rear-end a larger vehicle in.
3. QUOTE(Chris_Doane @ Jul 10 2008, 05:44 PM) Still gay here. What about when you're not in front of a computer? Are you gay at the super market? Are you gay waiting in line at Arby's, where you will undoubtedly be buying a roast beef sandwich to have sex with?

Drinking games

Oh my god! Frat Party Games: Beer Pong for the Nintendo Wii. They changed the name to Frat Party Games: Pong Toss to get people to quit bitching about promoting underage drinking. Can you make a drinking game out of playing a video drinking game?
5. Bump, for the sake of our newer members.
6. Hey, who wants to see my wedding pictures? Since the wedding isn't for another 3 years, you'll have to settle for pictures of me in a tux, but its the same thing, right?
7. Cobalt always reminded me of a big box of Crayola crayons, like they were going through it like this: Cornflower! --no Burnt Sienna! --Toyota did it already Cerulean! --WTF? Periwinkle? --You're an idiot Cobalt? --Fine, just put the f@#king crayons away!
8. That still goes back to my earlier question about buyer types. Are the people who plan to buy a new car in the next 2 years the "blind loyalist" types or the type who consider all options and go with what best suits their needs? Blind loyalists would be easier to keep around because, after all the grumbling, GM would say, "Sorry you cant have a G8, but we have a nice Impala" or whatever the situation turns into and they will realign their blind loyalty.
9. I'm all for the idea. They're making a CTS wagon, why not a Malibu? The 9-3 has the Sport-Combi, so there is precident for an Epsilon wagon.

2010 Prius

Touche. My dealer has a Jetta TDI parked up fron with big, ugly graphics all over it touting their clean diesel technology.
11. So why is it going to be plastered all over the front page?

2010 Prius

That would make sense, the Prius name has a ton of equity. Camry Prius, Highlander Prius, works just like Aura Greenline and Vue Greenline. the question then would be do they keep the Prius model around or roll it into another line?
13. So you're gathering information on the GM purchase histories of C&Gers, along with what the *may* purchase within the next 2 years. Seems to me you could have done that without the polls by searching the "Member Rides" forum and all the threads about upcoming GM models, since those threads always include the cliche, "I'll be first in line" types. Then, according to another admin, you want to put the results on the front page for GM to see. Why? They're going to look at it and think, "Wow, people on a GM fansite buy GMs and plan on doing so in the future! Thats a real shock! Whats next? Will Allpar discover that their posters buy Dodges?" If you really wanted a feel for C&G, you would have included polls for non-GM brands, and follow up by asking why they chose that vehicle over a GM. While you're at it, ask the GM buyers why they chose their car over the competition. Was it "blind loyalty" (i.e. I'll buy GM without considering anything else) or legitimately liking the GM over the competition, or was it the money aspect (i.e. a $21,000 dollar midsizer discounted to $14,000)?

2010 Prius

Change the grille and make the rear doors slide and that chop would be a fine small minivan type thingy. The beltline seems really high for the height of the car.
15. Then what is the point?
16. Its still pointless, because, in the end, its still a captive audience, the membership of a GM fansite. Do you think you're going to get an accurate look at any brand's future sales? This sample is not representative of the general public. Its like asking 5000 people in Utah who they're going to vote for in the presidential election, sure its a big sample, but not an overly representative one.

2010 Prius

Name a car that gets even close to the mileage of the Prius that has comparable interior space, luggage space, smart key, stability control, backup camera, 6-disc cd changer, leather and Bluetooth.
18. Yeah, but there is no direct5 correlation to Oldsmobile. All domestics are down.
19. Ohhh...new idea, keep Pontiac as a dedicated fleet brand. They can make money off outdated cars (like the G6) and can justify a handful of sportier clones (Firebird, Solstice) to be like the Shelby GT-H. Those cars will end up in the hands of enthusiasts, GM makes max profit out of existing components, everybody wins.
20. Grandma once told me she goes commando.
21. People probably said that about Olds 8 years ago. Gm is still around, and in a better, though still crappy, position.
22. As goes Pontiac, so goes GM? Not exactly. As goes Chevy, so goes GM, at least in the U.S. Volume is the name of the game. Toyota makes a ton of money in the state with 2 1/3 brands, Honda does it with 2. They do it by focusing on core models and maximizing profitability. The best way for GM to compete is pare itself down to Chevy, Buick and Cadillac. Chevy can do the mainstream thing, Buick can do the Lexus/ low-endMercedes/Audi thing while Cadillac can do the BMW/Infiniti/high-end Mercedes thing. All the superfluous stuff in between (Pontiac, GMC, and yes, Saturn) just takes resources away.
23. The blow up dolls are locked away!
24. The couple/vert can be rolled over to either Chevy or Saturn. Hell, a Eurosport package a la the 1985 Celebrity could bridge the appearance gap between the Malibu and G6. The G6, and therefore Pontiac, is redundancy for the sake of redundancy. The Firebird, Solstice, GTO and G8 didn't bring anything to the bottom line, which is, in the end, what matters.
