  1. There is still a C5 with 3 portholes per side at a ghetto car lot on the "wrong" side of town. It has been there for quite some time.
  2. No, the badge engineered crap that sold solely on incentives over the last 20 years that put Pontiac in this situation was garbage.
  3. They can roll *most* of Pontiac and GMC's customers over to Chevy. I'm sure 85% of those Grand Am buyers (aka Pontiac buyers) would have bought GM regardless.
  4. The real question is: Have you ever bought Legos for your kid then proceeded to spend more time building things yourself than you child spends building things? Cause I totally did that on Saturday.
  5. If the Big 3 were a human body, Chrysler would be the appendix. It can stay, but why bother?
  6. Depends on the day, either an '06 Ford Fusion or an '08 Toyota Prius. The Fusion beat out several GMs (Malibu Maxx, Grand Prix, Regal) while the Prius beat out a Honda, with cursory consideration given to a couple GMs and a few other unrealistic choices.
  7. And your posts are worthwhile? You're a Chrysler humper, thats obvious, this is a GM fansite, also obvious, did you expect to come in here and convert people? If you did, you're a bigger idiot than FOG. Maybe you'd have a shot if Chrysler had anything appreciably better than any GM offering, but they dont, in fact their vehicles are far worse, Kia level, so you're not going to find many here to agree with you.
  8. GM will still be around in a month, GMNA will still be weak, but worldwide, GM will remain for quite some time with the overseas operations propping up GMNA. Chrysler is a different story, they just suck.
  9. 40 in a 25, you should be able to plead not guilty, then plead guilty to a non-moving violation. The fine is usually more but it doesn't effect your insurance. At least thats how its done here.
  10. Dodge Ram
  11. Its not any gayer than the 2-seater already in the lineup.
  12. I *would* drive GM if they offered the vehicle that best fit my needs for an acceptable price. When I bought the Fusion, there was no GM midsize sedan available with a 4cyl/manual combo. With the Prius, it was a matter of wanting a high mpg car that wasn't a penalty box. GM doesn't offer one of those.
  13. If there is any construction on the highway, there are days my car never gets to 60mph, its reasonable to think I'm not the only person who experiences this, and it is reasonable to assume Americans will accept a slightly slower car if they get better mileage.
  14. Have a good 4th everyone. I'll be blowing $h! up and grilling later.
  15. How 'bout building a better car for the money, that seems like it would work better than government intervention.
  16. I doubt the LS7 will fit.
  17. Its not bad, derivative (but like someone pointed out, what isn't anymore?) but not a mishmash. I think it will look better in just about any other color.
  18. Wow, thats special. At first I figured it was an Estate that someone took a hacksaw to, but on second look, it appears too short for that. Edit: Just checked the CarFax, its an Estate. Just look short to me.
  19. I only got 4 more last night, it seems to be working fine now.
  20. Nope, just turned the phone off. I want to see how many unread I have in the morning.
  21. I'm pretty sure its a network issue (AT&T) but I keep getting text messages. Thats normal, I use about 2000/month, but I keep getting the same messages over and over. It started this afternoon with a co-worker texting me, I got it three times. I thought it odd, and went on. Then it happened again. And again, dozens of times over a couple of hours. Then it got really weird, because now I keep getting the same messages I was getting 5-7 hours ago. One text came with time stamps of 5:20, 5:21 and 5:21 then again at 10:50, 10:50 and 10:51. I have unlimted texting, so if it keeps up, it wont cost me, but its really annoying, since my text alert is, "PC Load Letter, what the f@#k does that mean?" and I've heard it like 10 times since I started typing this.
  22. But what...what...what about your true love, the Love Ewe? You guys made such a cute couple.
  23. O U C H Thats a 74% drop, if I can operate a calculator.

    The Volt

Its all the same, Any other automaker that has sold thousands of non-traditionally powered vehicles can question why GM took so long, their system reliability and whether the technology is worth the price over their vehicles, with their track records. Electric car with gas powered generator, hydrogen fuel cell car, kitty-fart car, whatever you want, its an alternative to the ICE that has worked for 100 years and will be attacked by the opposition.

    The Volt

I'll say it again, GM was dumb for showing their hand with this several years before production was even feasible. Now everyone knows whats coming in 2010, 2011, 2012, or whenever the Volt arrives, and they can adjust accordingly. Maybe Honda speeds up a magic hybrid system that allows an Accord sized car to get 65mpg in real world conditions. Maybe Toyota develops a hybrid SUV that gets 30mpg and allows consumers to have the type of vehicle that people bought in droves when gas was $1/gallon. No matter what, when it comes, Toyota (and to a lesser extent Honda and even Ford) will be able to run a line like this: "Our hybrids have been on the streets for years, they've not been perfect, but we've had a lot of time and a lot of customers, so the bugs are pretty much worked out. With us, you're going to get a hybrid that is going to be as reliable as a regular car. GM doesn't have a history of real hybrids. They've got a couple mild hybrids, but didn't sell many. Now they have this plug-in hybrid, they showed it to us (3,4,5?) years ago and now you can buy it. For $40,000, or ($5k, $10k, $20k?) more than our least expensive hybrid model. The batteries and powertrain, while they have gone through millions of miles of testing, haven't had the same real-world, real-driver abuse our million plus hybrids have. Who you gonna trust, the company that has sold over a million hybrids, or the car with a comparatively unproven hybrid powertrain that too years to get on the road and whose price kept inflating?" You may not like it, but thats spin. If GM had the upper hand, they would do the same thing.
