  1. I'm just in shock that you actually just admitted that you would let mpg effect a vehicle purchase.
  2. Bush has some balls. You have to admit, screwing things up, then insisting things are fine and screwing more things up while insisting things are fine takes some major balls.
  3. Oil companies can drill in the Gulf of Mexico, they have leases, they're just not doing it. Not that the Gulf is the greatest place, with all the hurricanes and whatnot, but still, they have the option. Allowing offshore drilling in the Atlantic and Pacific *may* get speculators to back off, which *may* stabilize oil prices, but none of that is a given. Gas isn't going to back to pre-Bush levels anytime, no matter how much we drill and where we drill, so the government would be better off encouraging alternative energies instead of promoting potential environmental and aesthetic disaster. And that may be the first time I have ever heard of anyone saying the Bush administration doesn't have balls.
  4. Its not that simple. They have to locate the oil, locate a suitable spot from which to drill, get the rigs in place, it will take years for any oil drilled from new reserves ends up in your gas tank. Thats not going to bring gas prices down anytime soon. People are just going to have to adapt, either drive less, or drive more efficient cars, or cut other expenses to compensate for the price of gas. Drilling domestically isn't the answer, alternative energy is the answer.
  5. Why did they use the concept?
  6. You cant blame the media, or the government, for the fact that the voters of this country dont pay attention. Would it be better if news outlets ran stories about bills and whatnot instead of sex scandals? Yep. But that would require the politicians not soliciting sex in airport bathrooms, or trying to hook up with pages or whatever else. America is a white-trash nation that is more interested in crap like that than actual politics, and its their own damn fault.
  7. There are elections every 2 years.

    CURSES

The 4-door Yaris isn't nearly as goofy looking as the 3-door.
  9. I'm in the middle of the country and I often sit in traffic with no domestics around. When they are around they're either full-size trucks (a declining market) or older rustbuckets.
  10. Not at 7am. She's still asleep, I've already chomped down 3 cinnamon rolls.
  11. You know you grew up in the 90's if the first time you heard the new New Kids on the Block song, you said, "Wow, their old stuff was so much better."
  12. I was going to make breakfast this morning. I was going to do eggs, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, anything else I could find. Upon learning this, the lump under the covers said, "Come back to bed and dont get out til its time for lunch."
  13. And that veto power is very important, cause it could, ya know, be used to kill any outrageous spending bill.
  14. Yeah, I was talking about the 900s.
  15. Just for the record, the governator is a republican.
  16. The GM hybrids are a pretty pathetic entry. The half-hybrid sedans are absolutely awful, not even close to being worth the premium. The SUVs are pretty worthless because of the huge price increase over their traditional counterparts. Ford did it right, they took a practically sized SUV and boosted the fuel economy without adding $10k to the price tag. GM would have been much better off with an Equinox hybrid.
  17. I'm going to start doing that just for the hell of it.
  18. I get this strange feeling that we've seen this before.
  19. The Honda is only going to be available in brown?
  20. If my driveway mated?
  21. They probably dont recommend accelerating to 90 in the length of an on-ramp then holding that speed for any length of time.
  22. I was once visited by the Ghost of Christmas past. We drank egg nog then had filthy sex.
  23. I had been getting 45-46 with me driving it a bit, so taking my lead foot out of the equation might get it close.
