  1. I think it means all variants can be offered globally, with different local mixes: larger % of sedans in NA, larger % of hatches in Europe, for example.

  7. So GM is learning how to do it! One global model with different 'flavours': sell sedans where sedans sell better (NA), hatches wher they sel better (I'd guess that'd be Europe). Cool!
  8. I always thought the side mounted turn signals (not markers that illuminate with the headlamps) were mandatory in Europe, but they may be a convention and not an obligation. I really don't know... The silver part is where the amber turn signals are.

  10. It's good to see a company turning around The decrease in volume in an industry where scale and component sharing are important could be a little worrying, though... I wonder what targets the business plan might have
  11. Or for GM to introduce a hybrid something that looks good in that NY-City-cab-yellow colour. Maybe they can sell hybrid Malibus as taxis...

  13. Yep, and front parking lamps have to be white, not amber like some US cars have (Buick Lucerne, for example). Rear fog lamps are mandatory as well.

  15. And that'd be a single global model with several bodystyles, right?

  17. Thanks for the reply!Euro side markers have to be amber, so most american cars don't have them. Euro-spec STS and Corvette are the only exceptions I remember seeing with 4 amber side markers... What I find strabge is the lack of a side-mounted turn signal, as I believe they are mandatory around here... Maybe those were pilot cars and the ones actually being exported will have them.
  18. Interesting: last time I read anything about the Epsilon Cadillacs, GM had trademarked BLW and BLC, but not BTC...

Power 'People's power' sounds like a Communist slogan, but wtf...
  21. That's the only point where they actually have a valid argument. You can't run twin deficits forever and expect your currency not to depreciate.Re the food, it's simple IMO: ban its import. That's what was done to British beef when mad cow disease struck.

Since we're on the subject of 3-letter company names, here it goes: CVS
  23. Did you happen to notice where the side-mounted turn signals are on the Opel? I know it's a small silly detail, but the yellow Opel provided to European magazines for testing did not have them. I could be a good PR move, although I'd suspect the average consumer really doesn't care where/how his/her car is built. Personally, I'd love to tour the Bowling Green plant, just because I have this thing for Corvettes: if I had the money I'd shell the 120K/150K Euro that one costs over here in a heartbeat :AH-HA_wink:
