  1. Aha, Armenia! It fits the country and its spiritual heritage perfectly, as the struggle between the Eagle and the Lion is one of the most interesting Hermetic symbols: the struggle between Man's conflicting natures, Spiritual and Material. Very interesting!
  2. I'm dying to see the thing... Hopefully it will be a killer, like the Solstice. To AAS: what's that you have as your avatar?
  3. So that means more programs got delayed or killed: any info you can share with the rest of us?
  4. GMNA restructuring plan Comments?
  5. It's interesting how Americans seem to like the Vectra's interior. It's good quality, but it got some criticism from reviewers over here for dash ergonomics, regarding mostly the center stack where the radio and AC controls are.
  6. Josh's 100% right. It's the same thing as value-pricing a car at say $25K, or pricing it at $30K with a $5K cash-back. You end up with the same deal, but the appeal of the "$5K cash-back" phrase is greater.
  7. andy82471 made a very good a point about excess capacity. Some excess capacity can be good if he market is growing robustly,as it reduces the lag in taking advantage of that grwoth, but too much of it means higher fixed costs and results that are much more elastic to variations in sales/margins. GM will never have 30% of the US market again imo (I'm not even going into the 50% they had back in the day), so they should be working to make the company profitable at around 20%. It seems like a reasonable target ot me.
  8. That grille has me wondering what they have in store for the CTS... After seeing the Escalade's front, I have a feeling I'll like it! :)
  9. Nice looking interior! Thumbs up for Chevy on this one!

    ....

I agree with you to some extent: the problem is lack of leadership. Where I disagree with you is that GM's leadership bends TO THE will of their subordinates. I sometimes feel it's the other way around, being that they bend THE will of their subordinates, so the drive and passion of many people within GM doesn't translate into product that can overcome market's perception/prejudice.
  11. That front end looks good, but there's still too much tape on the car... 2 days more until the official pics are released, right?

    Cadillac.com

Cars are taxed according to displacement over here. Bigger displacement = more tax
  13. Maybe that Employee Pricing thingy was a little too good in cleaning up inventories of 2005 models, and there are not enough 2006 models out there yet...

    Cadillac.com

Still doing the same: all pages work, except the US page :( On another note, good news for GMNA fans in Portugal! The 1st Cadillac/Corvette/Hummer dealer in Porto, Portugal opened a few days ago. They sold 3 or 4 Hummers on the first few days, even though it costs some 150.000 Euros over here. I'll have to drive up there one of these days to take a look at the cars B)

    XLR redesign

I believe the XLR is not going to be restyled any time soon, but what would be your take on the styling direction? Angular, as in an evolution of the Evoq-like styling, or a smoother Sixteen-like approach?

    Cadillac.com

What's up with cadillac.com? I can access Euro and ME sites, but not the US site............ It loops on the Flash page where you pick the country............

    STS-V

Last time I went to see my brother in FL the first car that got my attention at the airport parking lot was a black STS. It looks great! I love the contrast of those red taillights against the black paint. Too bad Euro STS and SRX get blacked out taillights............
  18. I like it, but: 1. Where are the front foglamps? 2. I was hoping for more power from the diesel engine, to differentiate it from the version sold in Fiats/Opels/Saabs.
  19. It's not a Vectra variant. It's based on the Astra.
