  1. This is one of GM's best designs in the last few years along with the Camaro, Sky (production), Curve, G6 (concept) and SS. A production version Aero-X would make a excellent competitor to the Audi TT once it loses the "born from jets" canopy cockpit and gauges.
  2. GM, will you please bring this, the 5-door and 3-door versions as well as the wagon here to the States as Saturns as soon as possible.
  3. I have to agree that the CTS-V should be compared to the M3 than M5.
  4. Could someone let the rest of us in on the secret? The current news is that the ION replacement will come in the 2009 MY and will be based on the Opel Astra not Chevy Cobalt but will the exterior and interior continue to resemble the spy pictures and will it still be called Evoke?
  5. I assume this is what you're talking about: http://www.saturnfans.com/Cars/Future/2009...placement.shtml
  6. I would prefer this over a SKY sportwagon.
  7. I would much rather see Opel/Saturn receive a production version of the Insignia on either Zeta or E2 only with a rear hatch instead trunk than a R class-like MPV.
  8. Getting back on topic, this was my post: As far as Saab is concerned, they should only make FWD or AWD vehicle. A RWD Saab is not acceptable though an AWD vehicle based on a RWD platform is. On the other hand, Cadillac and Pontiac should be GM's RWD divisions with no FWD or AWD vehicles based on a FWD platform under those brands. Chevy, Buick, and even Saturn to a degree should be mixed between RWD and FWD. Chevy should concentrate on RWD coupes like the Camaro, Chevelle, Monte Carlo, and obviously the Corvette in addition to a RWD Impala sedan. Pontiac as already mention would be all RWD be the poor man’s American BMW as Bob Lutz intends with compact and midsize vehicles sold in a variety of styles (sedan, coupe, etc.) Buick can be split between premium sedans that are FWD and more expensive near-luxury sedans that are RWD. Buick does not roadsters and coupes especially given the fact that Buick is part of the combined Pontiac-Buick-GMC hierarchy. Saturn has the Sky already and could add RWD coupe along the lines of the Curve concept and a RWD flagship based off the Opel Insignia concept. Cadillac would continue being all RWD but expand to include both larger and smaller vehicles to compete with the best of BMW and Mercedes.
  9. Wasn't there a 3 Valve version of the 3.9L in the works that made over 270 HP?

    The BMW V5 and X6

Every site and magazine seems to have a different take on what the V5 and X6 are supposed to be. The overall consensus seems to be that the V5 is some sort of crossover wagon like the Volvo XC70 and Audi allroad that would slot between the 5-series wagon and X5. The X6 has been depicted as everything from a BMW version of the MB CLS to a BMW version of the Infiniti FX. Somes sources reverse the two names and suggest the X6 is the MPV and the V5 is the crossover sport wagon. Does anyone have any insight here?
  11. Automotive News recently sat down with General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner to talk about the current state of the company and how "2005 began poorly, then worsened." Saturn was among topics that were discussed. Automotive News asked if he could "envision a day when a substantial part of Opel's portfolio would be used in North America as Saturns, or will it be a car here or a car there?" Mr. Wagoner's response: "I think it would be more the rule than the exception, although I don't think it would be one-for-one because Opel traditionally has had a much broader product lineup. But for a lot of Saturn's products we're going to try to drive their brand positioning to run more against Volkswagen and Honda. So the Opel design language we think will work well for them." http://www.saturnfans.com/Cars/Future/satu...alignment.shtml Nothing that we didn't know already but I think its safe to say we won't be seeing any ION replacements from GMDAT anytime soon.
  12. There is also a 105.30 wheelbase version used in the 9-3. If I'm not mistaken Epsilon was designed with Europe in mind hence the narrowness that is particularly akward looking in the long-wheel based models. This is the same mistake GM made with the U-vans from day one which are too narrow for the States and too wide for Europe. At once time the Grand Prix and Regal/Lacrosse/Allure were supposed to have been replaced by an "Epsilon-wide" architecture that would have been (obviously) wider than the existing models. I don't know if a longer wheelbase was planned for those models as well or why that plan was eliminated in favor of reengineering the cars the same W/midlux platform.
  13. The question is with the NG ION being shelved, will the next Saturn compact look like this?
  14. Class leading: Corvette Class competitive: 9-3 Cobalt CTS H2/H2T Sky SRX STS Solstice XLR
  15. Any chance those could be posted?
  16. Wasn't Delta supposed to have been a global platform but Opel wasn’t interested. Also, Ford hasn’t been able to have any luck with a world-wide compact or midsize platform and I don’t see GM have any better luck. Holden won’t be using Epsilon for the next Vectra nor does Chevrolet of Brazil. I have not problem with a global platform it’s just that I’m afraid to will made for the lowest common denominator.
  17. Are you at liberty to elaborate? If you can't when do you think whatever is going on will be available to the general public. How bad is it, are we talk about the death of a division or divisions? I don’t think GM can afford to lose another brand at this point without losing customers and creating negative publicity. I’m hoping that it just been pushed back a year like the GMT360 revisions. If not I see a Mazda3 in my future. I am not willing to consider a ‘Saturn Pursuit’ or ‘Saturn Forenza.’
  18. Looks exactly as it should. Heritage but not retro. Much better than the Mustang or Challenger. GMI had the picture on their front page and has already taken it down. Save it to your hard drive unless you want to wait until January to see it again.
  19. I sincerely hope this isn't true. If it is GM may very well have just lost a sale.
  20. How many crossover platforms does GM need? Theta-short (VUE) Theta-long (Equinox, Torrent) Lambda (Acadia, Enclave, Outlook, 9-6X) Epsilon II (BRX, 9-4X) Sub-theta (?)
  21. You might be thinking of the Passat quad coupe that is in the works.
  22. Chevrolet Camaro (coupe/convertible) Impala (sedan) Caprice replaces FWD Impala Monte Carlo (coupe) Pontiac G8 (sedan) GTO (coupe) Buick Velite (sedan/coupe/convertible) Flagship (sedan) SUV SAAB 9-7 (sedan) 9-8 (SUV)
  23. Absolutely gorgeous. I just wish it was coming sooner. My ’92 Saturn SC isn’t likely to last until 2008. Any chance of a coupe or fastback sport hatch version. A MSRP of $16,000 to $22,500 with a Red Line version at $23,500 sounds appropriate.
