  1. That's a chrome grille for sure...probably just a last-minute change.
  2. I think problems started with Olds back in the late 80's. It all started when the '89 LeSabre took the #2 spot on the JD Powers quality list. It was at that point that many Olds 88 buyers chose the similar LeSabre because of it's quality....and who wouldn't? The 88's sales tanked and the LeSabre's rocketed( ) to the top, and I think the old farts were sold on Buick's after that. That's the last thing that Oldsmobile wanted. Also, I think Olds really screwed up on their styling begining in the early 90's. Don't even try comparing a '91 Park Avenue to a '91 Olds 98, or a '92 LeSabre to the awful looking '92 Olds 88. Buick actually had a pretty damn good lineup of great looking cars in the early 90's...IMO.
  3. Do those management morons ever review anything before they put it out to the public? There is a section where you can view all of the vehicles.......check it out. I guess you can get the Rendezvous with the 4200 I-6 or a 5300 V-8.....Hhhmmm! And they don't even mention side impact bags in the safety section for the Lucerne, Rendezvous, or Rainer. Not to mention that several of the pictures throughout the site make the car or truck look dopey. Other than that little rant........I think the Lucerne looks pretty good!
  4. Where is the navi system? Or am I just not seeing it?
  5. It's as if they want to offer blue and burgandy interiors again.........but they just can't get themselves to do it. I guess a little blue is better than none. :( And if that tri-coat white is anything like the pearl white LeSabre I just saw, that Lucernce is going to be a damn sharp-looking car. :)
  6. Not at all. I've seen Century's with over 250k. It seems like most Chevy and Buick motors will run a very long time.
  7. I think the hatchback would do great here in the states. Just imagine your local 1970's Buick dealership beautifying it with a fake convertible top, chrome hubcaps, and gold-plated portholes.
  8. Jesus must be driving this car! :o
  9. [quote name='Flybrian' date='Sep 15 2005, 10:30 PM'] The downright best Buick television ad I recollect (and probably my all-time favorite of any I've seen) was the 90-second debut ad for its 'Isn't It Time For a Real Car?' campaign. My favorite was 'The Great American Road Belongs to Buick' campaign of the late 80's. The ads were very good and the tune was catchy. I sure do miss those days when Buick had a full lineup. I miss the really luxurious interiors that came in tan, grey, blue, red, and sometimes green. I also miss how a Buick could be sporty on the outside with a sport suspension, but all Buick on the inside. Damn it! What the hell happened? Where is Ed Mertz?
  10. What the HELL is your problem?
  11. zoomtm, this is because GM STARVED Buick! Buick has never had problems this severe before, and I surely wouldn't blame them. It's pretty hard to update when your parents won't give you any money because they are wasting it everywhere else. It's disgusting what GM has allowed to happen to Buick. Just twenty years ago Buick was the most technologically advanced car in the world. Buick pioneered the modern V-6 that we know of today, had touchscreen computers starting in '85, and they had a turbo V-6 with sophisticated electronics and an intercooler. If you were to study Buick history a little bit, you'd also be scratching your head. Buick was an awesome company back then.........now look. :(
  12. Lesabre=old image Park Avenue=old image Century=old image Regal=old image old image=old people old people=death death=no more Buick Is that what you want?
  13. What a foolish thing to say.
  14. Have you driven the two of them? The Park Ave is a very nice car, but it's also NINE years old! Come on guys! And it's really not that much different from a Lesabre(never was). I personaly prefer the center console in the Lacrosse, the awesome stereo(the Park's stereo is horrible), and the overall far superior build quality inside and out. Also, the Lacrosse can really take the corners while delivering an excellent Buick-smooth ride(without floating). God, I'm getting so irritated by people not taking the Lacrosse seriously. THE LACROSSE IS A GREAT CAR PEOPLE. Do I need to hit you upside your heads to make you realize that?
  15. Just yesterday I was next to a metallic red CXS at a stoplight. I was impressed at what a beautiful car it was! The paint was flawless and the body gaps were very tight.....very nice car! I rented a CXL back in December and was very impressed with it...so much so I was sad to give it back. I've driven almost every Buick car made since the mid-eighties, and I can say that the Lacrosse blows them all away. It's really sad that people bash what really is an excellent car. Not only would I choose a Lacrosse over a Lesabre, but I would also choose it over a Park Avenue! And just so you know, I've always been a big fan of the Park Ave. Like with most Buick's, it's very important to get the right color with the right wheels. That red CXS with the chrome package and big chrome wheels, was just about perfect as far as I'm concerned.
  16. I'm taking a factory tour at the Janesville plant on Monday..anybody think I'll maybe get a sneak peek at the new trucks? Are they even in production yet?
  17. [attachment=22:attachment] To the right of that Lucerne picture there is a picture of a Buick insignia on a grille with horizontal bars. Does anybody know what Buick that is off of?
  18. Cadillac's website has a small picture of the special edition Deville. The tuxedo blue/shale color combo is optional along with some ugly tan combo. The shale is a light, kinda soft, grey color. I can't make out whats blue due to the small picture, but it looks like the dash, part of(or all of) the door panels, and maybe the steering wheel. The seats also have blue piping. BMW actually offers a similar color combo on the 7 series. I don't know why they just can't get themselves to offer a solid blue interior, but I guess it's a small step in the right direction. Wasn't the Solstice concept similar to this?
