  1. woohoo, they figured it out. They transitioned to a new system and the forum couldn't find the database. Hmmm, I definately need to start taking classes and actually learn what I am doing rather than try to teach it all to myself. It would probably allow me to really improve both the club's and my own website.
  2. I've said before that I like the MR2's although the 90s ones were my favorite and I cannot stand the last generation. I would always prefer a Fiero GT though.
  3. They couldn't figure out the database error and had to refer the problem to a specialist so I won't know what the fix is for a while. Oh well. The club doesn't have too much going on right now and can deal with it, I guess. I just hate not having everything working for them. I am pretty proud of the site and most everything on it.
  4. You'd have to fight a cage death match with Tammy and I know she's psychotic about her Skylark!
  5. Dang it. I am holding for a online chat with the customer support people for the server of my Camaro Club's website. Our forum is messed up and I know I didn't do it. I got ahold of someone and he was trying to research the problem and got cut off. Now I am on hold again. I would really like to get that thing fixed and then maybe get some rest. I've been up since 6PM last night. Does this kind of thing drive anyone else nuts?
  6. Sorry for the hijack folks, Chris (or anyone else who might be able to get pics) I would love to see what PCS is hintng at.
  7. Yes, but have you learned to safely answer, "Do these jeans make me look fat?" or ANY of the other loaded questions you should know better than to answer?
  8. work You should see how crazy things get at an aircraft maintenance flight in the Air Force.
  9. If that's how you pay attention to detail over there at GME, then keep your plans over there.
  10. Thanks SuperSport623 **About the 2nd gen and later RS** In the 2nd gens, RS continued up to 1980. Starting in 1978 it became a separate Camaro model and could not be combined with Z/28, only LT. Then in 79 (when Berlinetta replaced LT) it couldn't be combined with Z/28 or Berlinetta. RS returned as a regional option for 87 & 88 and then as a model series in 89 and continued through the rest of the third gens. RS once again return in 96 basically as an exterior appearance package. **Gotta love having the Camaro White Book**
  11. 1970! Just too many great toys produced in that year. A few other years are special though. Love the late 50s, 67, and even 87 (return of the 350 to the Camaro).
  12. On the way home from work this morning I was listening to the 'Paralyzer' album (Finger Eleven). Is it just me or has anyone else gotten a vibe of a couple older bands from some of their songs? Window Song reminded me a bit of some Pink Floyd stuff. Parts of Easy Life had a sort of Moody Blues sound from around the time of their Sur La Mer era. OK, so I just might be nuts.
  13. The best year and best time of my life is right new. This, right now, is all any of really has for sure. The past has helped us get here, but it is gone. Tomorrow may never arrive. So, for good or ill. This is what we have. I try to find a way to enjoy it. I have my family, friends, job, and things to entertain me. Heck, even when I was deployed, I found ways to have fun. I looked forward to coming home and thought fondly about what I left behind and planned on coming back to, but I still found ways to have a good time. The attitude is sometimes hard to hold on to. Especially when I start really hurting (long story) but hey, I am alive, and a smart @$$, so why not enjoy here and now?
  14. Wow, someone is actually jealous of me?!?!? Or is it just the Camaro? I went through enough to get it. The wife had her demands, one of which is the 72 Skylark.
  15. I am still so happy that I found and got my 71 RS Z/28.
  16. Or we could airdrop it from a C-17 at 30,000 ft and forget the parachute. Let the Army use it for artillary practice?
  17. I am a bit concerned about the turbo 4 since I well remember the the Iron Duke. I am however, willing to wait and see what comes out and if the turbo 4 will move the new Camaro in some kind of respectable way.
  18. I don't care who came up with that thing but I know what would make it look better, about a pound of C4.
  19. No offense, Enzl, but it reads like ANYTHING GM does is not good enough for you. I understand that your livelihood is at stake as is those around you but, I have to wonder if your animosity towards the heads at GM is so strong that you cannot see anything posisitve. Yes, I know you've been burned before. Anytime someone goes to ones of these events or reports something positive, it seems like you and some others start talking 'koolaid' and 'fanboy'. Give Z28luvr01 some credit and the benefit of the doubt. They just may be smarter than you give them credit for. Consturctive criticism is great but there is a limit. Some of the negative posts get so bad here that people get turned off and skip through posts when the see certain names. I know I used to. As for the Volt, I am hoping the GM can get it to market on time and as efficient as they state, or at least close.
  20. PCS - Its worth the drive. Trust me. I've been going to this show for 7 years now. There's always so much to see that you haven't seen before. The only problem is getting rooms unless you reserve early. Tammy and I have our reservations already. Thankfully, she was able to work us out a great deal. Then convince the hotel to offer it to all the people coming with us. The only thing I have a tough time with is the car auction. A couple of years ago, I almost wound up getting a 67 Corvair convertible (too bad Tammy didn't like it) and then a 67 Camaro convertible.
  21. Don't have to fire the accountants, just make them go back to the accounting department and keep their hands off decisions about making cars and trucks. They have their place in GM, but they shouldn't be trying to run things. As for GM moving, whoever thought of this lamebrain idea should be smacked in the back of the head. [sarcasm]Yeah, this is a great idea, while we are trying to recover and start turning out vehicles that people will love let's just spend all of our money moving our headquarters. That will make people love our product. Right!!! [/sarcasm] This is one of those rearrange the chairs on the titanic ideas. And these usually come from people who are trying to get control of something that they have no business being involved in or are trying to make their mark. I see it all of the time when the active duty sends in a new Lt.
  22. Good luck with her NOS, I hope it works out for you one way or another.
  23. With the mention of the gatherings in various parts of the US, I started wondering if anyone here was thinking about going to Hot August Nights, and would be interested in using that show as a meeting event. The show dates are August 2 - 10. To me HAN has to be one of the best shows ever. All of the entries are 1972 and older American and European cars and trucks. Panther would probably have to be restrained. (j/k) This years entry limit is 5500 and if anyone thinks that is all that will be down there, they are nuts. It's one show where you have to put aside at least some of your prejudice for the car you own, simply because there is way too much you will miss unless you open your eyes to the beauty that is there. (And then of course there are the cheerleaders in bikinis selling ice cream). I would be interested in having a get together sometime during the show. Tammy and I are set to arrive on Monday and will be leaving on Saturday. We'll be driving the 72 Buick Skylark Convertible. Its not easy to miss.

The Cav is a dark green. Pretty decent color actually. We took it grocery shopping today. Some idiot acted like he was coming over into our lane. He saw us, I mean he was looking directly at us. I think he expected us to get out of his way. I just looked back at him, thinking, "Go ahead and add another dent, like I'm going to be able to notice." He backed off and slowed down to get behind us. Awwww, wimp. What's funny is that the wife is all cool with a Fiero, as long as she gets to play with it as well. Heck, she said as long as I get the 355 in her IROC by the end of the year, I can save up for that new LS3 with Carb and Distributor for the 71 RS Z/28. tempting, very tempting.
