  1. Some interesting background on the Kaiser Henry J. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...:en-US%26sa%3DX
  2. Kaiser Darrin history: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=htt...:en-US%26sa%3DN
  3. The Kaiser Darrin was worthy of a postal stamp:
  4. laptop
  5. This has to be a very rare thing, a Kaiser police car.
  6. Kaiser had a tent option and a bed option as well:
  7. MM...just seeing those airy tops like that....well, something stirred.
  8. I got thinking more about the art of the automobile. We've become so used to them that we're overlooking something. The automobile is the public art of our times. They represent us as a culture. Our canvas is our car. So when someone dismisses an artful thing such as a pillarless hardtop, they are missing the point. I like my cars or trucks to transcend their practical purpose. We at C&G are constantly sweating visual details on every vehicle we discuss. We are ultimately discussing the art of the automobile.
  9. Just saw a beautiful 2008 white Ferrari F430 at a restaurante in the hood near me. Breathtaking.
  10. And then the question, why does anything matter in a car? Why does anything stylistically matter? For some it's just a converyance. Boring boxes of blandness and banality. For me and others, we want something more. Something artful. Something that stirs us. I'm a civilized human being. We've moved beyond the primitive I don't want a camrade car. I don't want my cars planned by a central government committee. So, does a pillarless hardtop matter? Of course it does. Sometimes you have to show people what they are missing. Art is like that.
  11. That GMC Denali crew is possibly the nicest pickup in history. Everytime I see one, I just stare from every angle. They did such a nice job on this truck.
  12. Kaiser Darrin:
  13. ya you tell em XP715!
  14. Yep the liberal looney left, it would be very interesting to see their reaction if someone was breaking in and going to harm them and their family. What to do? Talk the creep out of it? Sit down and chat about it over coffee? Oh oh, the liberals got everyone disarmed so they can't protect themselves. I wonder what a liberal does in a situation like that.
  15. The liberal looney left always caring for the criminal. It just makes me puke. That you in anyway can excuse this animal is beyond comprehension. Spare us all the pseudo sociological crap.
  16. I know!... Forget the acronym, how about, 'We Like our Tops Hard'.
  17. What's interesting about Japanese cars over time is that even though they don't have a distinctive style, you can always tell if it's a Japanese car. They did a zillion variations on the same theme. The theme? Non-design.
  18. I've seen a couple trucks with those....may be the worst auto fad ever. And yes, for the love of all that is good, please someone somewhere, don't buy those stupid stick on portholes.
  19. macrame
  20. Perfectly said...I nominate you for Head of General Motors. Who knows, maybe someone somewhere will hear our feeble plea and bring back the sexiest roofline ever invented.
  21. It says something about Canadians, I think. We are conditioned not to fight back, just run for cover. Most personal weapons have been outlawed. The authorities always take the PC route and say don't take the law into your own hands. We have nothing to protect ourselves with. I'm dismayed the driver and passengers just left and didn't help that young man that was butchered. Absolutely cowardly. Wouldn't we all want someone to help us in a situation like that?! They all could have swarmed him, but no, save your own skin people!!! By all means.
  22. I've never been a fan of the Calving peeing on some logo either. Not sure what it says about the driver.
