  1. I don't think the G6s design has worn well. It's proportions always seemed a bit off to me. It's the darling of the rental companies here.
  2. I rarely disagree with you, Mr. 68, but I like the production roofline better....it looks less station wagon.

  4. This reminds me of GMs glory years in car design. It has that look. I can see this car in the driveways of very upscale neighborhoods. I probably would never buy a conventional wagon, but this has a look of a hot hatch so I would buy this. The more I look at it, the more I'm luving it.
  5. I like it alot. I sure hope it finds some success in the marketplace.

  7. Glad you are training him early. He'll be nicely conditioned for a nice big truck in his future. Man, when I was a kid I would have gone insane over a toy like that.

  9. Well it is a beautiful warm summer evening and down in the trendy area there was some sort of happening, there were countless new Ferraris, Lambos, Aston Martins, Rolls Royce etc. parked along the curb. Phewww, I feel lightheaded, sensory overload. It was one of those perfect summer evenings, beautiful cars, man, it's great to be alive.
  10. Congratulations, hyperv6.....great choice. This car in LTZ mode is a stunner.
  11. Today I saw a new Lincoln MK S and have to retract anything I may have said or thought in the negative. This is a very nice looking car in the flesh, up close. This is one of those times I got thoroughly influenced by a road test I read. They were very unkind to this car and it's styling. I now disagree completely.
  12. Blu hope you have a great time catching up with schoolmates. They'll all think you got hotter over time....so don't worry. What I have found about class reunions is that the in-crowd, the IT girls/guys back in the day are quite faded and ordinary now. In turn, the ordinary back then seem to step up their game and become much cooler than I remember them. Roles seem to become reversed. And Blu, you can show off your nice truck! They'll all be driving minivans!!...haha.

  15. Is it just me but this new Chevy looks like a warmed over Saturn Vue.

  17. I'm not saying all unusually designed vehicles are a roaring success. But it is a trend in design in a variety of manufactured goods. Nothing else can explain design like the horrid new Acuras. And yet they will sell in respectable numbers.
  18. I agree with almost all that you have said Mr. 66 with the exception of the BMW 3-Series coupe....I think it's exceptionally goodlooking. You do know why many cars are odd? I read an article awhile back on current design, expecially in cars. Ugly IS in. People actually like expressing themselves through offbeat odd design...it's reverse chic if you will. So this is not all a mistake...it's calculated.

  20. It shows that there used to be a distinct American design esthetic. It's not always easy to describe, but when I see it I know it. There was a certain horizontal and linear look to it.

  22. Upon my semi-regular stroll throught the Pontiac Buick GMC dealership, I had the pleasure of looking at the G6 convertible a little more closely, I am liking it more and more. Firstly it is pillarless and next I like it's coupe look....the proportions are nicer than the regular 2-door G6.
  23. All you say is quite correct. But if you look at GM history it's not an entirely new state of affairs. Up until about the mid fifties, you could barely tell the difference between a Pontiac and a Chevrolet. When you look at Pontiacs pre 50s, they almost look like rebadged Chevrolets.
