  1. Cool to see a lot of y'all end up with admin rolls. I assume Josh is long gone - is Oldsmoboi in charge (I'm guessing from his description). If so, congrats. Also fun to see we all have the same join date pretty much. Thanks for the welcomes.
  2. Nice. I've kinda had a falling out with GM after the whole bailout deal.
  3. Been years since I came here. Spending most my time on Autoblog. How's everyone doing? Ocnblu still hanging around?

  7. Here are the 5 options you should have put. I am libertarian
  8. This article wasn't suppose to be released to 12:01am but it looks like someone slipped up. I copied and pasted article in case they take it down. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/19/autoblo...09-corvette-zr1
  9. Chris was the exterior in just a normal Lacrosse, or what did the outside look like?
  10. lol. I would love to shrink the government, but alas it will never happen.
  11. I know the same feeling. My 1992 Buick PA was stolen just weeks after we replaced the transmission (@ 200k). They ended up finding the car and chasing after them. The thieves got off on foot because the police couldn't catch them. My car was trashed. They might go after the beater cars because it's not grand theft. Also, if he had a gun in the car it would now be the criminals. I don't think in this situation it's good to have a gun.
  12. Not to be an unqualified financial advisor. But investing your cash into a depreciating expense might not be the best plan. Depending on the rate you get, it might be worth it to keep that cash in a money market (2-3%), low(er) risk mutal funds or etfs (3-8% return). If you could get a 36 month loan at a rate of 1.9% or something similar then definitely take the loan and invest the cash!
  13. Back on topic: It sounds like it will be hard for me to find the car to replace my truck. My list keeps getting longer. G8 G8 ST G8 Coupe Challenger Camaro Solstice Targa Mustang Now if I can get one of the above options for around $25k I'm golden!
  14. ARGH, I was so close. The format was SOLSTICE_1.jpg I coulda found the high res images.
  15. That's the thing that dealers don't realize. Is that people cross shop different cars in different categories all the time. I once was shopping a Malibu or a Mazda 3 or something against an Altima and the Nissan sales rep told me they aren't even in the same class and can't compare them. I'm like, you better believe I can compare them when I am looking to buy one of those. I'll try to wait a year or so before buying so the price might drop a little bit or there might be some slight incentives. We don't need the car now. Damn that word "want."
  16. actually I am thinking about shopping the G8 and the malibu. I prefer the G8, but I think the Malibu LT2 would be perfect for our family for the price ($24k). So it's a matter if the G8 is worth that extra bling or not. Or extra $100/month or whatever it turns out to be. They don't have a hood scoop delete option do they?

  18. how about three engines: The turbo 4 producing 260 the 3.6 producing 310 and the 6.0 producing 400
  19. Yup, i'm the one that leaked it in this thread: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...st&p=377515
  20. Ya, i'm surprised they let something like this slip. I was trying to dig a little more for some hidden websites but had no luck. The ST and the GXP had links like this for their images (1 through 5) http://www.pontiac.com/images/newCars/G8_1.jpg http://www.pontiac.com/images/newCars/GXP_1.jpg I tried replacing the G8 and GXP with Solstice_1.jpg and Targa_1.jpg ie: http://www.pontiac.com/images/newCars/Targa_1.jpg
  21. CARBIZ, if we had some decent education classes that were mandatory in elementary school about finances people might not fall into this situation. Also, a lot of people say they have good credit, but I suspect if she doesn't take the effort to read the details of the loan then her credit probably isn't that good. Also, they may be in a very difficult situation right now, but if they recognize this as a learning lesson and avoid doing this again in the future, then it may be worth the $25k extra they paid for this car.
  22. sneak peak of the Solstice Targa? I found this on Pontiac's webpage and took a screen shot.
  23. quoted for truth. My wife is from Iowa. She is a pretty conservative driver.
  24. There was a decent GN for sale in the area but he wanted 11k. I also saw a sweet t-type, but I was afraid to call and ask price because it was so nice. No way it was going for $1100. Here are some photos that the seller took.
