The Fleetwood...
I nominate to nickname the Fleetwood "Mac."
-
I shouldn't even be considering this...
If I didn't have a car needing finish touches and another project on the way, I'd be inclined to buy it to drive around in the fall and winter.

Are You Attracted To People.....
I just hope she washes that thing. I can smell something funny in the air all the way down here in Kin-tuck-ee.

The Fleetwood...
GM typically rivets their regulators into the doors, yep. It's worse on a fourth-gen Firebird. The doors are fiberglass, of course, so if you fuck up on installing one, you can fuck up pretty bad.

Are You Attracted To People.....
The last thing I wanted was to be reminded of this ...

Cars that people like that you can't stand...
I have to wonder, if Ford built the Mustang II on the Maverick platform rather than the Pinto platform, would it be a different story today?

The Fleetwood...
EDIT: Nevermind. I saw the link Olds gave you. Most of the tools needed, save for the door panel tool (which isn't expensive anyway), should be laying around your garage. Trust me, you can do this job if you just take your time and follow all of the steps. If it was the power window motor, that would be different. Riveting in a new motor is a big PITA.

When GM had all its domestic brands, which was your favorite?
It's a hard-pressed thing for me to say, but yeah, I'm going to have agree on this one.

2010 Altima
People wonder why 5% of buyers only opt for a manual transmission, well this is why. There really aren't very many vehicles built with a stick to buy anymore. What people used to consider to be "luxury" options are now standard equipment; equipment that some people find useless; equipment that people actually don't really need; equipment people take for granted.

Should I?
Dammit, this is going to jinx me, but I'm too excited to play mind games. That's not the car, no, but that's what I've been offered and that's what I'm hoping and praying will be mine. I'm going to knock on all of the wood in the house.

Should I?
Yeah, it's too bad it wasn't in better shape. It would have made a great project, perhaps a nice Z/28 clone. As soon as the pics of the new offer get to me, I'll let you guys give me your opinion on it. I know it needs far less work than this and it actually has a running engine. A hint as to what I've been offered: http://www.cheersandgears.com/index.php?s=...st&p=549119

`78 Trans AM - $2500
+1 (Followed by a tie between the fourth-gen and first-gen cars.)

The Fleetwood...
This. There are well documented cases of B-Bodies with well over 350,000 miles on them still running like a top.

Should I?
Yeah I'm giving this a resounding no. However, not more than four hours after this offer, I received a much better one: a chance to finally own a dream car of mine that really makes this Camaro look even more like a POS. If all goes well, it could be in my hands this weekend. :AH-HA_wink:

Should I?
Well that was quick. UPDATE: The owner says the frame is good. Now on to asking about the floorpans ...

Should I?
Someone offered me a '78 Camaro rolling chassis for trade on what's left of the Firebird today. I'm seriously thinking about having a project to put away and begin working on when I finish up with the Regal's interior and paint. While I would really like to have a tired old Cutlass to work on and eventually slip the Regal's Rocket 350 into, I'm mulling over pulling the trigger on this particular trade. Winter's getting close and the Firebird has to go as soon as possible. Factor in that I could be moving soon into a house with a nice garage to work in and well ... The Camaro has one big downside: the sheetmetal is full of rust. I'll just let you guys check it out for yourselves from this pic the owner sent me. Replacement sheetmetal isn't too expensive. I'm just wondering how far has the Camaro's cancer taken over? Is the frame as rusty as the sheetmetal? Are the floorpans and motor mounts bad? I think I'm bad for biting off more than I can chew ...

Funny Prius/Criagslist advert
This Craiglist ad makes this thread worthy of a bump. It actually is deserving of it's own thread, but still: http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/nor/1361868126.html
