  1. Will the 3.6 be available in the convertible?
  2. Yeah, I took some pictures of a G6 convertible yesterday. It looks really nice.
  3. Have you seen some of the more revealing spy pictures yet? In a few of them you can see strakes on the hood (like those of the crossfire) and Airflite-esque headlights. Plus the interior is pretty cool looking, even in light gray.I'd post some right now but my eye is killing me (I have a corneal abrasion on top of pink eye). I'm seriously thinking of stabbing it out to rid myself of the pain. Sheesh. But when it's better I'll post the best Chrysler spy pics I've found of it.
  4. Ah... I assume you own a Lumina/MonteCarlo Z34? I think the reason I said MY1996 was the MY1997 Cutlass Supreme had the 3.1L.
  5. Hey Gus! I remember you from the EFI-street days... I don't remember what my username was over there, unless it was DropTopOlds. Anyway, I had (have) a 1994 Cutlass Supreme 'vert that was triple white. Anyway, glad to see your LQ1 holding up! Matt BTW, as psyched as I am about the G6 'vert, I'm really awaiting the new Chrysler Sebring folding hardtop convertible. Yum.
  6. You could count the LX5 (3.5L DOHC V6) from the Intrigue and the LQ1 (3.4L DOHC V6) from the Z34, Cutlass, and Grand Prix as very short lived engines, too. The LX5 lived from MY1999 to MY2002. The LQ1 was available from MY1992 to MY1996.
  7. I just got in from work to find that this thread had grown drastically. As a moderator of a gay forum that has over 115,000 members, I can tell you this same thread over there would've been a moderator's worst nightmare.C & Ger's continually impress me with their ability to handle such a hot topic well enough that it doesn't get out of hand.
  8. You're right. Yes, homosexual men's sexual lifestyle is very high risk. For years they've been birthing HIV infected babies with significantly shorter life expectancies that require frequent monitoring since most develop a serious infection secondary to HIV in the first year of life.Wait no, that's heterosexual women, the fastest growing group with HIV infection. Sources: http://www.indiana.edu/~aids/factsheets2.html http://www.niaid.nih.gov/factsheets/hivchildren.htm Using the correct terminology is vital in discussions such as these to let everyone know where exactly you stand on the matter.Lifestyle: Living on the beach in California (as someone mentioned earlier) Sexual preference: Men with short hair and green eyes. Sexual orientation: Homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual. Someone who refers to homosexuality as a "lifestyle" is probably going to be opposed to any issue revolving around homosexuality rather than someone who refers to it as an orientation.
  9. I can see where some of the gay population might be offended... but it's not a very good commercial in its own right. Just blame it on a crappy commercial for a subpar car. Oh, and I'm gay. [/newsflash ]
  10. Kudos to Lori. Consumer Reports needs to stick to MP3 players and toaster ovens.
  11. I've seen a lot of Mercedes C230s (the last square generation) with a rear fog light like you describe. Volvo S70s, too.
  12. They've been in my area for almost three weeks now. Very attractive vehicles... much more so than the last gen, which looked old after about 5 minutes. GM did a very good job.
  13. It's very nice, but I'm not as big a fan of this as I am the Challenger (I like bigger cars). GM is an awesome company and this is exactly the kind of thing they need to get the attention of the younger crowd. And the older crowd. And the nursing home crowd. And middle agers. And everyone else in between. Truthfully, I was really hoping for something along the lines of the camaro renderings that have been floating around for quite some time. God, imagine a Challenger/Mustang/Camaro shootout now that we all know what they look like....mmmm....
  14. Ooh yeah, I forgot about the STS having it. Heck, my Cutlass Supreme convertible has the 1st gen HUD and I think it's the best thing since sliced bread. And perhaps Mr. Lutz should realize no one knows about it because it's never touted in commercials, and the most space it ever receives in brochures is half a paragraph with the same gauge cluster shot going 55 mph. Of the many, many people I've shown my HUD to over the years, all of them but one loved it.
  15. I dunno about that. I've already seen more Commanders on the road already than Grand Cherokees... and the GC has been out for a year. Perhaps that can be explained by the cold reception the GC has gotten around here. First and second gens abound, but the third doesn't seem to have taken off quite as well... or maybe it's just me, and the Commander stands out more than does, well, almost anything else.
  16. I posted this in here because Cadillac is one of the few GM brands with HUD, but if a moderator thinks it will fit somewhere else better feel free to move it :) Why are we seeing no new GM cars with available Head-Up Display? With the demise of the Park Avenue, LeSabre, and [imminent demise of] Rendezvous, Buick will no longer feature a car with the unique technology. When the Bonneville got axed, that left the Grand Prix being the soul vehicle in that lineup that offers HUD. GM obviously sees the benefit of the technology because its offered or standard on the Corvette and XLR. Are buyers going to have to fork out $50k+ for a vehicle to be offered head-up displays? I think that the LaCrosse, Lucerne, G6, Impala SS should offer it at least as an option on the top trim lines. Anyway, was there a memo on axing HUD that I missed?
  17. I agree...the BEST ever. 4'x9' floor space in the back of my '69. Here she is when I brough her home. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v29/phar...-M/rear34-1.jpg After a wash job http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v29/phar...9M-M/washed.jpg
  18. They probably meant 325, but who knows? In most auto brochures the manufacturers compare their new model to the competitor's previous model year car because a lot of times info on competitor's new model isn't available at the time of printing... though horsepower figures for the new 3 series have been no secret for a looong time now. Plus, comparing any vehicle to a lame duck vehicle from a different manufacturer is dumb anyway. Besides, GM vehicles are nice (and getting nicer with each new car), but who cross-shops BMWs and Pontiacs in that segment anyway? At least have the same drivetrain...sheesh. :D That reminds me of Ford touting the Freestar's flip and fold rear seat—an option, they said, that wasn't available on Chrysler or Dodge vans. And they weren't on the previous model year vans. The sad part was the new vans had already been released with Stow n' Go seating. DC asked Ford to pull the ads because it was akin to comparing their Wrangler to the old Bronco II.
