  2. Auris is the new Corolla hatch (already called Runx/Allex in Japan rather than Corolla). Introducing Auris space concept Cube Cubic (or Cube³) is the lwb 7-seat (3-row) version of Nissan's B-segment box-MPV.
  3. A clerical error. The entry is actually something like trademark: ENCLAVE owner: ENCLAVE owner type: Corporation, Address: etc.
  4. I assume wikipedia says coupe is French for "cut"—from coup: strike, blow as in coup de grace, coup d'etat etc., as any good dictionary will tell you. The transfer of coachbuiulding terms to the automotive industry has been haphazard and inconsistent. In general a coupe will be cut down from a related sedan if there is one, while a 2-door sedan will have the standard body and roofline. If the headroom argument stands, then most recent Pontiacs have been 4-door coupes. As for 3-doors, 5-doors etc., this distinguishes such hatchbacks from earlier 2-box sedans that lacked such a full-height door, offering only a smaller trunk-lid or a rear engine hood at most.
  5. It looks like a unique variant of the Optra, combining the sedan body with a new nose more like the 5-door hatch. The mainland version is the Excelle, more like the standard Optra sedan. LIke the Excelle, the engines are probably Daewoo's version of the Family I 1.6 L (as used in the Aveo and Lacetti), and GM Holden's unique 1.8 L version of the Family II engine.

The very most you can be certain of is some kind of announcement re the new global rwd program. You do not know what form it will take, which brand, manufactured where and introduced when.
  13. Not a Torana-based vehicle. The Torana concept used a platform larger then the Camaro's, and Lutz is talking about something much, much smaller—not much bigger than the Kappa sports car architecture.

Hydrogenated vegetable oils are an attempt to turn naturally liquid oils into something closer to naturally saturated fats such as butter (milk fats) and lard (beef or pork fat), which are semi-solid at room temperature. In doing so they reduce the benefits of these normally poly-unsaturated fats, by saturating them with more hydrogen. FYI McDonalds uses a vegetable oil with natural beef flavoring as a substitute for lard, except in regions with a strong taboo about eating beef.
  24. Ehhh, it's not so tall, nor so narrow. The average height of a production 5-door hatch in this class is about 57.5"—the WTCC Ultra, sans rear wing, is 58.7". The Fiat Stilo, Peugeot 307 and previous Civic hatch are all taller. As for width almost all (except the new European Focus, which has its own wide fender arches) are under 70"—the WTCC Ultra measures in at 75", so there is plenty of room to cut those outrageous fenders and maintain a competitive width. Wheelbase is also class-leading at 104.3", although sedan and wagon variants (including GM's) are often on an extended wheelbase.
  25. Keep up the adulation. Not only do you increase the acceptance of this design for international markets, but you'll help the case for making the Optra and Cobalt replacements the same vehicle (in sedan form at least). Now if only they'd bring this concept to LA and Detroit.
