Back again...GS style this time
caddycruiser replied to caddycruiser's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
Considering getting that done. I had just the rears done on my G8 to stick to DE law, and with the black interior there too, you could barely tell the fronts weren't done. LOVE driving this thing. So refined, it's nuts. And comfortable. Won't say it puts my TSX to shame, but refined in a way it isn't. -

Understandable. The Buick 24 month "Experience Buick" leases were most attractive on terms for length, maintenance included, etc. But not for $150 more per month, which was what it worked out to. -

It has arrived. Picked up this morning, it started raining right away. Rainy view stopping at the bank & post office on the way home. Amazing car. Complaint? From before, the lack of backup camera. Come on GM, nav screen and even front end parking sensors, but no camera. Bizarre for me to get used to, $38k sticker car or otherwise. Then made it home. Off to work, Buick safely parked at home! -
This is a cool small car. Great look and colors in person. Seems to be selling well.

Still working for and loving Acura in the Philly area, and driving my 2nd or 3rd new TSX demo. Great car. Never something I had considered before, but just the right mix of size, power, refinement, fun and economy. Tech is the best in the biz, too. I don't need a second car of my own, but I WANT one, and if the dollars work, why not. Never hurts to own your own car. Went on vacation in Florida & Georgia mid September, and for a week had a brand new 2012 SRX Performance and was intrigued by GM again. My friend and I loved it and wanted to buy one. I started looking at lease deals, and then cars too, and narrowed down to the SRX, Lacrosse Touring and Regal. SRX awesome but too big and pricey for a 2nd car. Lacrosse Touring a dead tie with Regal, and the V6 & panoramic roof were what I liked from the SRX, but too big and awkward inside seating position for me. Low and behold...Regal GS. Didn't want stick (not for my driving), and auto's are rare. Must have nav & roof. Emailed around, made a deal Thursday, and this morning signed papers for a new 2012 Regal GS White Diamond with Sunroof, Navigation, WDT paint, and the standard 19" wheels (come with AS Goodyears and I like the brushed style). Such a COOL car. Reminds me of my G8 but with a massively better and tailored interior and the lighter weight/4-cyl perkiness of my TSX demo but more refined. The drive is so tight, refined, and the 2.0T silent and torquey. GS mode ride & steering is even better. The flat bottom steering wheel is incredible. Add in White Diamond I've missed since my lemon G6 GT coupe. That the fellow sales guy was on his 2nd Turbo Regal himself, and told me about custom tuning them before we even got in, I was sold. Great lease deal. I won't do many miles...unless I change careers or just like driving too much. Dealer owner was driving it for 700 miles, so partly demo but not really, and it was spotless. Ally leasing seems a lot more flexible now too, without fees at the end. Waiting on display for me this morning. Won't pick up until tomorrow morning when I take a cab ride over to the dealer. Vroom. Clearly, those I work with will not see this car for a while, if ever. Buick fun 39-month lease. This time I will actually try to stay the term, and not buy anything but gas, floor mats and maybe tint.

New? Yes. Foreign? Kind of. GM? Yes, I am back... Alongside my work Acura, still driving a TSX sedan (my favorite Acura sedan, actually), will be another sedan. Papers signed for month end this morning. Pick up tomorrow morning. This whole 1 of me and 2 cars in 2 different spots can be a logistics issue. Trying to figure out how to best intro the new.

My latest purchase... THIS is EXCITEMENT!

Reminds me... One of the most unique combos was the 1st model year 2004 Cosmos Purple with purple leather. Totally unique and not for everyone. I think there is still one in southern Delaware near my parents, I used to see all the time, from right after they went on sale. Unique and then some. Used to love seeing these when I would take my G8 to Rocksand Racing in Bethlehem, PA for Pedders suspension, where the owners had one of the fastest time GTO's to exist. Bought it stock when he was a manager for the dealer, drove it gently to break it in...then turned it into an all out, drop down, best drag car. Was that stealth gray/greenish color. -
I asked $100 less than I paid for it in June...he gave me $90 less than that. I was pleased. Triple what a business offered me for it on Thursday... More importantly, I needed it gone by end of today. Mission accomplished. I made sure as I do with my day career, we went on a long, varied road, test track drive and pointed out everything about the car. Only issue I had was a 2nd person who called me beforehand but came half hour too late. A little sticky there for a few minutes. Got a nice drive in earlier in the day. Left me with 199,859 miles. All in all, I spent $190, gas and 2 car washes for 3 months of a comfortable and fun spare wagon. Next up. Well, just wait and see.

White Diamond 2012 Regal GS with polished 20's and black windows pulling in front of me in traffic...wow. First on the road GS spotted. So rare, even in Philly. Stunner.

This car has both suspension and engine upgrades. 380 to the rear wheels. Perfecto. If things like bushings and otherwise (a weak spot) have been swapped, along with clean power mods... -
Subie is gone. Listed it Friday night on Craigslist. Got 2 bites, 1 from city and 1 from Delaware. Delaware made it here first, and Ruby now has a new home in northern Delaware. Will be just like I intended, a spare car for daily driving to work (guy already had a tuned & custom 2007 STI he said is not the best for daily driving), and AWD for all seasons. I got it washed this morning and ran out for errands. Last photo before departure: Now what? Stay tuned...as always

Killer. The next gen Commodore platform was even better...but the GTO/Monaro is a beast. Upgrade the suspension to cure weaknesses, and even with a stock powertrain, it's killer. Vroom. -
New 2013 Cadillac SRX fresh off the truck at the Caddy dealer, on display. Same car as before, but the grille and wheels freshen it further. Lots and lots and lots. I honestly see more Captivas of all trim levels and colors in Philly on any given day, than new Equinox's or Terrain's at times.
-
Rubie Subie is on the market. Such a nice driving, well maintained and tough AWD "GT" wagon...but time for a change. Dad already has 2, doesn't need a 3rd. I had even more serviced at the dealer than the stack of a story & receipts the lady gave me. Craigslist, perhaps...unless anyone here may be intrigued for a useful weekend wagon? As of today, still under 200k with 199,849... For sale.

Car lot browsing today, while I was also checking out our new Acura store about to open in a week or so. Across the street, first new Hyundai Veloster Turbo I've seen in person. I really like these for some reason, and especially the Turbo. More changed and unique than I expected. Then further south, at Cadillac a new black base 2.5L ATS (love this car, would buy it exactly as is, base 4-cyl and all, actually looks good as a "base") and then a wow XTS. The XTS still looks huge and totally impressive in person. Follow that with a CTS in Black Diamond. No wonder they charge $995. What a paint combination. And heading home, a shiny new white Malibu Eco:
-
Of course. Same family and for the most part, design, just a smaller displacement.
-
New brown 2013 Altima base model on the streets. With the design of the hubcaps and otherwise, until you see the side body line swoop, another case of "oh, I guess it is new".
-
Brand new black Prius with blacked out windows, added chrome pillar and door trim, and a perfectly placed chrome "Turbo" badge on the left side of the tailgate. Would have punched the driver myself had it not been raining and their window down.
-
Express work van with a...homemade...license plate "edit". Odd.
-
2011. LS and LT models had the 3.5L, and LTZ's the 3.9L.
-
A new 2013 Lexus ES350 with temp tags, cruising down the street. At first the nose made me think GS then the thinner, squarer and even plainer body. Yep, looks like an ES and doesn't stand out. Perfect for Lexus.
-
More Dart's, in better colors than just red.

How to make a current gen Accord look good...oddly. Charger/Challenger SRT-8 wheels, all black, and lowering job. Was at our Acura store yesterday. Fun watching them straddle the exit ramp to keep the bumper on.
