  1. I had no idea there was a Peanut Buttter boycot... or is it an embargo???
  2. You live and learn, you were also probably in shock. It happens, just take it easy for the next few days. It WILL be more than the car would sell for on the open market, KBB & NADA are both high, esp. compared to the realities of resale in New England.
  3. I sold the 1994 RoadMaster Estate today to a fine gentleman of MY taste.... (he hates modern cars too) He & I struck up an imediate friendship, he was reallly cool. Told me the '90s B-bodys are the only modern cars he's got any interest in. In his garage is a WICKED original 1939 Pontiac Coupe and on his front lawn is a 1941 Plymouth Sedan for sale: $3000 and he has a 1981 ElCamino (3.8 liter 229ci V6 powered) that gets worse fuel economy than his burgundy 1996 Roadmaster Estate winter beater. So my Roadmaster is now a parts car that will comtribute trim/wheels/glass/inteiror pieces to a 1996 brother and its strong & reliable LT1 V8 will be transplanted to a 1981 elCamino.
  4. Dude's got a legit point. I almost bought a 1966 Corvair 4dr hardtop from a dude who was busy stuffing a SBC into a 197X Chevette two door, complete with 4-speed manual and a posi rear end! I need to own a Diesel (Che)Vette at some point in my life.... esp. if I can find one with a 4-speed!
  5. My LeSabre has exactly 100% more tailfin, drawer-pull grille, canted round-quad headlights, sweep-spear, dynaflow and nailhead than your dad's.... but still congrats on the Buick.
  6. CMG: oil filters?
  7. DF: Your V.M. woke me up when my celly started beeping. Sorry to miss your call, I actually went to bed before midnight for once. Anyway Glad to hear you're okay. With the milage you had on the prizm just consider it total loss... it most certainly will be. On the plus side you guys will be doing some car shopping & there's NO way you can get more $$$ for a car than a total loss. You always get top dollar from the insurance company. The Prizm was hardly a car worth getting upset over since it had some SERIOUSLY high miles. Better that than the Intrepid. More importantly you need to make sure you NEVER sign anything saying you're okay or that the accident did not cause any bodily harm. I hope you do not wake up tomorrow morning with a severe back ache but that's a big possibility. Again, your health is WAY more important than some metal box with four wheels. Yup, I remember that. It was quite a scarry story. My eyes are always on the rear view, esp. in the B-59.
  8. Cool... I agree. I'll PM you with my phone #.
  9. Damn... that was a decent dealership. That sux. My mother almost bought a brandy-new 1996 Neon from them. I was with here and the salesman & manager were both better than most in this business. Dust in the wind huh...
  10. You Jumped the Shaddow? Damn that thing is not the General Lee youknow!?!
  11. Since we're on the same page and you live in New Hampshire you should totally come down for a car show sometime. Maybe Kimball Farms in Westford, MA... it's every thursday...?
  12. I guess I'm a weirdo because I'd love to own that car and show off the blood stains at carshows. If I had the murder Cadillac I would take it to a Acura & Lexus dealership to get my oil changed just so see the look on their faces, "NO I do not want to complimentary vaccum or rug stain remover service!"
  13. ellives: Agreed. RWD does NOT pose a real world disadvantage anymore, but it does present a million and one ADVANTAGES. Esp. weight distribution, high perf. driving, fun-to-drive factor, wheelbase proportioning & most of all durrability.
  14. Love those red inner wheel wells. Reminds me of the GTO. The grille/dagmar/bumper on these cars is so overwhelmingly chrome-gazmic!
  15. Not the F-bodys, B-bodys or ZR1s...
  16. How can you have torque steer when the car's wheels are both getting exactly 50% of the power? If there is a FWD car with a longitudinally mounted motor but unequal-length half shafts then I'd love to see it but the Toronado is NOT one. I guess there might be one out there... the Bugatti EB110's motor is offset & the trans. is mounted off-center, so technically that would have torque steer if it was not AWD.
  17. Cool, more sales for GM.
  18. A Ford with trans. problems? NO WAY!?!?!?!?!!?
  19. I sold & today delivered my very first NEW Cadillac today. 2007 DTS Luxury I. Platinum/Platinum floor shift. The secretary of the principal of Andover High (my high school) bought it with her Mel Brooks lookalike/soundalike husband... nice people!
  20. I think I'd trade my B-59 for this straight up, blood stained seats and all.
  21. That murder happened about 5 miles from where I live and about 2 miles from my work. Look it up it was Nashua NH, and the car was white/white/blue. It had a blue-painted steel roof. Can you imagine how creepy & eerie it must have looked when the two kids discovered the corpse inside it, blood stains all over the white leather & shag carpet!? Pontiac-C-S: I beleive in Karma but I do not beleive by driving William's old beater Cadillac any harm will come to me, after all he's probably happy that someone is enjoying it.
  22. "One Piece at a Time" ~ Johnny Cash
  23. Okay... well the best way to describe it is that I have the nicest 1971 Parts car in New England. It's rotted, has enough Bondo in the hood, rear 1/4 & rockers to make a Honda Civic body kit & all the mechanicalls are a bit tired/ worn. This is NOT a car for the faint of heart. It's actually quite scarry, but I love 'em that way. My last REAL "Winter Beater" was a 1983 Firebird T-top with a crate 350 intended for a truck, lots of bondo lots of rust but ran & drove decent and started up every single time I turned the key. The important part is that the B-posts are rock solid, which is pleasantly surprising... also, the brakes stop the car without incident. The interior makes me wonder weather the "09230" miles on the odometer does not mean "209,230" instead of the 109K that is indicated by the title. It floats down the road and soaks up potholes like a brand new DTS. Either way I love it. I love classic Cadillacs, they're made like battleships.
  24. Sure we remember you... Don;t be a stranger.
  25. Like the stock 22" rears are "normal" looking.
