  2. Unibody "frames" are never the same if not repaired with the high end bodyshops. Repairing a car with unibody damage must be VERY complex, think about it, the hard points for the suspension, and all related components all bolt up directly to the unibody & as such if the car is off by 0.1" it will never be the same. Today's unobody cars (esp. Toyotas) have sheet metal 'bout as thick as a Diet Pepsi can.
  3. There's on such thing as a "good" civic :AH-HA_wink: but for just one exampe the Civic used to have double wishbones and Honda always shouted at the top of their lugs how this made it a better car than all the other econo-$h!-boxes. Then Honda went to the cheaper (& according to Honda: INFERIOR) mc-p struts but did the price go down? NO. Honda is all smoke and mirrors. I would take a Honda over a Chinese car, most Toyotas & Hyundai/KIA but that's like saying I'd rather get shot in the chest than in the face.
  4. If you want an automatic in a Z06 or CTS0-V you're a looser or an idiot! Buy a CTS 3.6 or regular C6 or go home!!!! Now if you want to save fuel & have a fun to drive car/truck but you can not get a manual that's NOT FAIR. It's agrevating when GM reps. say "trust me manuals do not sell...." Well lets' see.... I hate Honda but they sell plenty of manuals that compete with GM cars which are automatic only. but GM is tooo f**king stupid to admit that they loose sales because of this. Geet a clue GM, consumers WANT what they WANT, you can;t TELL them what they want, that's a sure fire way to make them into lifelong Toyo-DUR customers. Speaking of which my buddy Robin has a Toyota 4-Runner he bought because NONE of the big-three offered anthing close. He has a 5-speed and big 4-banger, get's good fuel economy out of a BOF truck and the manual extracts enough power out of the four cylinder to do most anythign but tow. but Gm will tell you in their infinite wisdom that a manual would NOT sell in a TrailBlazer or Tahoe. x 666
  5. 98-R: Yes I know but the 88-90 cars lacked two crucial things: -RWD -BOF
  6. Cool. 60 moons is a lot, that's wacky. I would think a "moon" would have to be at least 200 miles in diameter, wut whatever. Now in other news I'd like to slap and punch the retard who reuined this pre-war car. This was probably a gorgeous Cadillac, maybe not mint but you know what they say, it's only original once. What an ugly $h!pile it got hacked up into. Monochromatic, chopped riced & "modernized" classic cars make me sick to my stomach! http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/car/376095685.html Honestly, a 1939 cadillac that is trying to be a Starsky & hutch Torino? Gross! This idiot should either buy a bus pass or a Chrysler PT.
  7. The Civic has ben un-engineered forf the past three generations, it is more & MORE & MORE of a $h!pile while the price keeps going up. The Mazda 3 is a great little econobox (fwd $hitbox) but in the end I really DO beleive the Cobalt is a better car than both and by FAR the better value.
  8. If you want to spend money, buy a gently used CTS and you will have RWD & a shapr, well made car. If you want to save money go through the local ads and find a cheap used RWD dinosaur. There's tons of good deals on NICE big GM boats, just make sure they have like 80K miles, not 200K. Here's a few great deals: http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/car/377579608.html http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/377237377.html http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/car/374715391.html wish this one hd a photo: http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/car/378202502.html http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/car/377899637.html http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/car/379596618.html
  9. Dude, take people's advice... esp. someone like O.B. who is in the field and KNOWs what he's talking about. Take the money and walk away from the Prizm. I can understand getting attached but dude, it's a GEO PRIZM. You're "DodgeFan" if it was one of your 'Cudas or even if it was some scummy 1973 Dodge Polara ex-cop car with 367K miles I would grab a pitch fork and go to the insurance company with you but it is an absolute "disposable camera" of cars. You can find/buy another Prizm like it in a heartbeat. To fix your car right, it's NOT worth it, it really isn't and you can not fault the company for that. Now as far as buiying it back & parting it out THAT would SHOULD be able to do... I know what it's like to put your blood & sweat into a car & have it destroyed by some jackass... it's happened more than once. Best of luck dude, I say get yourself a '95-ish Stratus or Cirrus. and call it a day.
  10. The GTo was a much better value than the G35, MUCH!!!! Speak for yourself dude, the Skyline GT-R (R34) is the Camaro COPO ZL1 of Japanese cars, that is still THE best sports/GT car to ever come out of the land of the rising sun. ------ Now as far the G37, every time I see it all I think is "what a wasted oportunity to make a kick ass [pillarless] hardtop" it's a shame.
  11. I hate televangelists. HATE. They all seem like scumbags and dirty, greedy, thieving hypocrites! That haviong been said I do not know Tammy Faye and I do not wish cancer on anyone.
  12. I've been there dude, TRUST me. Good poem, keep your chin up, there's a girl out there somewhere that will make you forget your Fiance and make you happier than you ever thought possible. It took seven years for Julie and me to get it right, but now that we have and we're together finally, really a couple for the first time I am absolutely thrilled. She makes me happier than I ever thought I could be after all the B.S. I've been dealing with (Marcia) in the past few months, and for that matter years.
  13. I still miss LordStafford, Razoredge and me got in a spat or two but he was never someone I hated HarleyEarl I miss very much... I love my 472 cu. in. & 364 cu. in. V8s very much and am convinced the V8 will outlive internal combustion so you KNOW there's one person I do not neccessarily miss.
  14. Back to the 2dr vs. 4dr. I for one think that we SHOULD have the ability to buy a 2dr Blazer/Tahoe but I think that the market is very small. People tell me the market for a manual trans. in certain vehicles is very small but I would still like to have a Silverado with a 6-sp manual or an SRX with a stick. I was absolutely thrilled that GM grew some brains & balls and made the Z06 Corvette & V-series CTS 6-speed manual ONLY. Variety, choice is always a good thing! In the case of the Z06 and CTS-V it was almost like payback to all those lazy, boring fuddy-duddies who bitch and moan about manuals & collectevely rob us of 5/6 speeds in most of todays vehicles.
  15. i WISH WE COULD HAVE HAD A rwd 3800 POWERED vehicle in the USA with a 5-speed manual. Well there was the Camaro & Firebird but it would have been awsome to have a 1987 Grand Prix or Regal with the 3.8 and 5-on-the-floor.
  16. The Scirocco was a low to the ground, lift-back, sporty coupe, this just looks like a riced Golf GTi but the french ass & cool interior actually blend well, the angry nose needs a different grille but is not horrible. I kind of like the CRX (kammback) profile but if they use the Scirocco name then it should LOOK like a Scirocco, this looks like it should be called "Rabbit Type-R" It would be like Honda making a 5-door anc calling it Prelude.
  17. I'm addicted to die cast cars, got probably 4000 of them or so... a few hundred of just the 1:18.
  18. Yeah... my only problem with the B-59 is that I should have payed $200 for a 100% perfect H20 pump on eBay instead of trying to buy them locally at $75 a pop. Stupid, stupid! Even still, now the impeller is solidly held on the H20 pump's shaft the car will drive ANYWHERE so long as you top off the water to compensate for the leaky seal,
  19. Shapely bumpers, rear 1/4s and a nose that puts a Lincoln to shame.
  20. Agreed. The 1976 Cadillacs had nothing on the New Yorker in terms of style. I should have bought that 1978 (440 powered of course) New Yorker that was in the WantAd last year, it looked MINT, under 100K miles & $2K o.b.o. ...then again there's only so many cars a broke 28 year old kid can buy!
  21. Not bad for a first car... save you money for performance upgrades for something RWD, Welcome to Cheers & Gears!
  22. I'd love a 1976 New Yorker.... the last of the 4dr hardtops.
  23. Great value compared to the Competition, esp. those fugly Acura/Lexus.
  24. Agreed! Variety is the spice of life & choice is a neccessary element in free will... Why no two door Cadillac STS? Why no two door Park Ave? Those swoopy lines would have looked great! Why did we not get a 2dr B-body from 1991-1996?
  25. His car is 37 years too new!
