  1. Wow... if you get either one of those... Plymouth or the Packard you will officially have the most bizare but awsomely cool car collection of anyone I know. Straight sixes are cool but straight eights are the ultimate in "Fu*k packaging just extend the hood" attitude. Nothing cooler than the old fashioned American classics. Maybe someday I'll make a one-off, 8-foot stretch limo '82 Lesabre that wil be powered by a custom I-16. Basically two Buick inline 8s joined at the crank. Woah, time for my meds. :P I'd love to make a coffee table out of some old engine like a V12 tank motor.... just have the whole damn thing looking nice cosmetically and place it in the living room wiht a big slab of glass rested on top of it. XP715 is always talking about how if he had the money he'd buy a Simplex, Duesenberg, Stanley Steamer or some other such oddity and parking it in his living room for the ultimate conversation piece.
  2. Shut the fu*k up!!! Ooops, sorry about that. My dominant personality took over my skitzo brain there for a sec. :P
  3. I usually like over-the top stuff but this is pretty insane even by my standards. Why not though. Good for him. This photo is more flattering than the one that appeared in HR a few months back.
  4. Sounds like a personal problem... stop eating so many beans. :AH-HA_wink: Okay seriously I think there's two possibilities here: 1. this is your first full size SUV and you're not used to driving an unaerodynamic brick so the noise seems worse then it really is. 2. Your truck needs to have a piece of weather stripping, modling, trim etc. fixed/aligned/replaced. Probably the latter. Good luck, give 'em hell! :)
  5. Wow... sounds like the luckiest unluckiest week ever. The biggest tragedy is probably your friend loosing his job. :( Nice to have you back, hope things start looking up!
  6. As I write thisnI can hear a damn mice scurying around the ceiling above the computer. <_<
  7. I voted: "Conservative - conscious but still spend for things I like" I'm actally very much a cheap prick about 90% of my spending.... but certain things I'll spend a fortune on and not think twice. Most of my cars that I've owned I buy for less than $1000 and yet i fill them up wiht premium most of the time and use expensive high-milage oils in some cases synthetic. If it's something car related I have a funny way of justyfing the cost. Like my GMP 1:18th scale model of a 1987 Buick GNX taht I payed about $100 for. I'm very cheap about stuff like clothes because I hate to spend money on something that does not bring me any true joy. Shirts, jeans and the like are useless necessities of civilized society and nothing else. Furniture and a lot of other items belong i this category. Beef, Chicken meat, bread, Wine and some other foods however I will spend a lot on. I like to eat well... I mean I eat plenty of junkfood mind you but if I'm going top throw a steak on the grille it's not going to be from the cheapest supermarket around. Natraully when it comes to Sofia cost is not a factor. She's a little spoiled but she's a great kid and deserves it. :)
  8. so can you disable the front airbag in the Solara?
  9. Thw kind of person who can buy a brandy-new C6 is sometimes the knid of person who does not appreciate it or baby it at all. Sad but true.
  10. Wierdest post ever. [/comic book guy] :P
  11. Yup, well spoken Sir. :D
  12. B!tchin' I'll need some fellow mucle car fans down there to hang out with. Maybe we'll end up on the same floor.
  13. COLOGNE!!! get ti right... jezzus. :D
  14. Kewl, I expect a full report and pictures by months' end. B)
  15. My maternal grandfather was a coal miner back in Slovakia.... and a jack-of-all trades outdoorsman (hunting, fishing, hiking, etc.) & a part-time butcher. He's still alvive today but can't get around much since he broke his back all his life.
  16. Z28: I hope you're talking about the no-jump harness and not the training collars... those look cruel!
  17. Better a smart ass than a dumb ass. :D
  18. I love light interiors though... the white interior on XPs Deville is so awsome. Can you get seat cover ofr the pooch? The early 80s Starlets are about as cool as you can get for Toyotas. Kind of like my POS Datsun. Old, weird, unknown and antiquidated.
  19. Dude... FoG got stuck with Camry rental and he was very unhappy about that... the thread he posted was about how he put duct tape and plastic wrap over ALL the emblems so he would not advertise the Toyota emblem to anyone. Even the airbag emblem was taped over. That's a resourceful GM enthusiast right there. Anyway good luck with the Solara. Hope you won;t hold a sludge, er.... I mean grudge against me. :P
  20. Balthazar: You must have missed it buddy... I posted a sweet photo of a FC150 in this thread about a week ago. :) http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...ic=4261&hl=jeep
  21. BBL would enjoy this... perhaps that's his G/F. :P
  22. LOL @ Balthazar.
  23. Correct. TWO. Panel Delivery and a Business Man's Coupe. What a cool era. Newbie: Sorry but I left off the ( :P :AH-HA_wink:  ) to indicate I was just kidding around with you. No harm just being a wise ass myself. :)
  24. Ummm... they're only ugly when compared to their better looking counterparts from Buick, Dodge, Cadillac & Chevrtolet... just to name a few.
  25. There's some ugly car in the junkyard with a third swiveling headlight and a strange torpedo hood that matches that description. I was going to buy it for $200 (running and driving) but I found out it has a very unorthodox "suspension" so I got turned off to it. I also have a RR Merlin Engine in my backyard under a tarp... came out of a Supermarine Spitfire. I'll give it to you cheap, crank turns freely. :AH-HA_wink:
