  1. cool but not my style. There's a T-Rex parked outside a middle school in the summer in Dunstable Mass. I wonder if some crazy cool substitute teacher drives it?
  2. there's another $4 I HAVE to spend to keep my sanity. :D
  3. The miata has had changes since 1989? LOL In a perfect word POntiac would have a Firebird/TA, GTO and a Solstice... Chevy is a volume brand and hell if they can make a retro roadster closer to the '53 Vette formula than the exotic C6 then why not? This is how to get people's attention!

    Cien

The Cien is the equivelant of a low flying F117. If they do make it I thinkit should be wiht a V16 that could be shared wiht a ULS Sixteen. That woudl make Cadillac smell like roses and make RR & Bentley look like Lincolns.
  5. No arguments there Fly.... Buick & Cadillac are the two brands I'm goign to stick with for a while. I've had a couple Chevys & a few Pontiacs and I'll ahve more in the future but right now I'd love to have 1996 Fleetwood Brougham for a daily driver and a '59 Invicta hardtop for a toy.
  6. Wow. I'm sorry to hear that. The IS300 is not a bad car. If I ever did buy a Lexus it would most certainly be an IS. the new IS is decent but the lack of an inline six is a major turnoff. I too hope for your sake the car is totalled. I'm of the opinion that a modern car with crumple zones is never the same after a bad hit. Keeping in mind your loss, if it is totalled what will you buy next? Will you consider a CTS?
  7. Someday when you win the lottery you can pull out that sweet faithful 3800 and throw in a 572 crate and twin turbo it. :metal: Take on anything short of a Veyron!
  8. Well I guess if the DTS was inspired by the '67 Razorback you could say the Alante was inspired by the '61 Coupe Deville. Sorry but IMHO it's like comparing the Mona Lisa to finger painting.
  9. That Town Car deserves it's own thread. What a looker. The interior makes a new RR look like a Honda Accord. There's more gold than in Mike Tyson's mouth!!!
  10. wow... those all suck, I even grieve for the Lexus IS... it is the coolest car to wear the "L". :(
  11. Almost forgot Munson: please do post pictures!!!
  12. I immigrated to the states wiht my family form Slovakia at the age of 8 durring the twilight years of communism. After having grown up with tiny, underpowered, super-economical unsporty cars the streets of Boston were littered with Suepr cars. Low slung Camaros, Corvettes & Firebirds were like some kind of boyhood fantasy come true. T-tops, loud exhaust notes & the promisse of a V8 under the hood became the ultimate. A few years later through magazines like Hot Rod & Car Craft I discovered that back in the '60s cars looked even better than in the 80s. And they were faster, quicker, louder, sexier, less inhibited and bolder... it only took a few glances at a carshow & in a magazine for me to become a muscle car fan. Above all else I loved F-bodys. I remember telling myslef as I stared at a '68 Camaro: someday I WILL have one! Later I decided '69 was the ultimate year but a '68 happened to come along I could not resist and the rest is history. :) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/ssil...ARCRAFT2004.jpg
  13. Go to photobucket.com... upload your stuff (make it like 700 pixles wide or smaller) and place it here including tags. :)
  14. Balthy: yup... I can see what you're saying. GM1: Hey buddy... thanks I think. I just threw up in my mouth a little bit back there. :P
  15. Still love those '61-63 Contis but as I said earlier in this thread the fact that they are not hardtops is a bummer. Now this new concept is sharp. I loved it fomr day one... if produced it could be made a true hardtop but not like the concept. I mean this thing does not even have a hardtop style B-post. THere's nothign there. I mean not even any kind of latches or strikers for the doors. A little over the top even for a concept, no? Eh whatever... that '66 is sharp.
  16. Cool. Way to go. Are those cupholders Ocnblu was refering to? The quad exhausts are wild, not my choice of wheels but they work. Always loved the sunset orange. :)
  17. You should have posted this AFTER you won it. I think we's about to have ourselves a bidding war...
  18. > What do the letters “AC” specifically stand for in AC Delco? I knwo this one but can't think of it at the moment > What do the letters in “Delco” stand for? no idea > What is the significance of ‘United Motors Company’ and ‘International Motor Car Company’? no clue to be perfectly honest > What 3 independent truck manufacturers were bought & merged to form GMC? Rapid Motor cars, Raliance Trucks & uh, no idea about the third. I know Buick made trucks back in the day. > What 3 auto manufacturers were party to the initial talks of consolidation to form what would become General Motors? Dodge Brothers, Oldsmobile & Buick > What year was the first Buick engine built? 1907? > What year was the first Cadillac engine built? 1903 (this seems to easy I know I'm forgeting something)
  19. Sorry to hear that buddy... on the plus side does Decka need a parts car? It's always sad to see a car go. I even get a bit sad whenever I sell something out of my fleet. After 9 years in my family (having been purchased brand new) I sold my '93 Achieva the same day I bought my '68 Panther. For obvious reasons I never looked back at the time and pretty much had a good-riddance attitude about the Achieva. After all it had a POS 115hp Quad four and my newly aquired Camaro had almost 400. I also vowed to never drive a FWD in my late teens and the temporary Achieva was wearing on my nerves. But now years later I do feel bad about just casting it aside. Esp. since the poor car was abused, crashed & junked by the girl I sold it to in less than a year. :(
  20. I looked at a Diesel Benz a few months ago. It was only $800 O.B.O., I went to take a look at it and it ran fine but the bodywork was pretty sloppy and it had nearly 1/4 million miles so I decided to pass. It was a big vanilla colored '1987 300SDL with a nice interior but the outside had more bondo than a '1975 Corolla. It would have been sweet to convert taht thing to run off bio-fuel... driving down the street smelling like a Wendy's fryalator.
  21. Oh and three things: 1. I'm not a fan of Toyota, although a Cressida is a semi-decent excuse to buy one. 2. The Volvo & Mercedes are not readily available for $300 in excellent condition just because of a lost title. 3. Vocalized Warning System: Zero-for-3. B) P.S. If the modern day Cressida (Avalon) was RWD I'd stil think it was an UGLY blob of a car.
  22. I'm thinking about trading in the STS on something newer or atleast with less milage. The STS is in my name but the G/F drives it 80% of the time. A pre-Ford Volvo wouldn't be the worst thing in the world aside from the fact that I really want to buy GM. Marcia's mom bought a gently used white '98 Volvo 960 about a year ago. If all else fails and we can't find her a decent STS, Bonneville, Deville, Caprice Classic, Fleetwood or watever then the Volvo would still be better than a few cars she's suggested. If it was up to me I'd be replacing the STS with a B-body... preferebly a baby-blue Roadmaster sedan with a steel roof. Marcia thinks it's way too conservative and fuddy-duddy for her. <_<
  23. You know it will Sucka!
