  1. Cadillac today unveiled the refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade V. This visual refresh brings the look of the Escalade in line with the forthcoming Cadillac Escalade IQ EV. The driver of this styling change is the move from horizontally oriented front-end lighting style to a verticle one. The verticle lighting style is a historic signature look that reemerged on the Cadillac Lyriq and the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5. Included in the front end detail and inspired by the Cadillac Celestiq, the Cadillac crest is illuminated on all Escalade models, while V-Series and Premium Luxury Platinum trims receive an illuminated grill surround. Power open and close doors are available along with new available 24-inch wheels, the largest ever offered on an Escalade. Three new exterior colors are on offer: Deep Sea Metallic a dark blue with a hint of gold, Latte Metallic a light bronze , and Agean Stone, a green-gray. 55-Inch Curved Display and Executive Interior Also imported from the Escalade IQ is much of the interior styling. A curved pillar-to-pillar 55-inch screen graces the dashboard, featuring voice control, navigation, a built-in app store, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and more. SuperCruise is standard on all trims and comes with a 3-year OnStar SuperCruise plan. With the built-in 5G wireless hotspot, passengers can stream HD entertainment to the available 12.6-inch personal screens when opting for the Executive Second Row package that also include massaging seats, dual wireless phone charging pads, headrest speakers, stowable trays, and a rear command center. Audiophiles will enjoy the standard AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system or the optional 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference system that increases to 40-speakers with the Executive Second Row option. Nightvision, a feature pioneered by Cadillac 24 years ago is available on all trims and standard on V-Series and Platinum. Most of the upper trims also come standard with a full-color heads-up display. V8 Performance: 420 HP Standard, 682 HP V-Series The 420 horsepower / 460 lb-ft 6.2-liter V8 and the 682 horsepower / 653 lb-ft Supercharged 6.2-liter V8 carry over for Escalade and Escalade V, respectively. Both engines route power through a 10-speed automatic to either the rear or all four wheels. Adaptive Air Ride Suspension is standard, while Premium Luxury, Sport, and higher trims come with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0. The diesel inline 6-cylinder has been dropped from the lineup. The 2025 Escalade will start production later this year at GM's Arlington Assembly Plant in Texas. Check out the 2025 Cadillac Escalade photo gallery and the 2025 Escalade-V photo gallery for a closer look.

  3. Ahead of the New York International Auto Show next week, Infiniti has unveiled the next iteration of their full-size luxury SUV, the 2025 Infiniti QX80. This all-new SUV coddles occupants with bespoke experience no matter where in the vehicle they are seated. Miyabi-Inspired Interior and Triple-Screen Dashboard The interior of the QX80 is inspired by the Japanese principle of miyabi, referencing the use of layers, soft materials and flowing integration with the in-vehicle technology. Leather, suede, wood, and metal flow seamlessly with the touch screens. On the dash are two 14.3-inch displays. One for the driver and one for the infotainment system. The gauges are configurable into three main views, Classic, Elegant, and Enhanced, operated by a dial on the right of the steering wheel. The center Infiniti InTouch display operates the infotainment system with a tablet-like interface and gestures. Buyers can also opt for a color heads-up display for the driver. Google built-in is incorporated to allow for natural-language requests and access to the Google Play store. An additional 9-inch haptic touchscreen below the infotainment display handles climate functions and vehicle drive modes. Push buttons are used to select the transmission mode. First-Class Comfort in Every Row Every row of the QX80 offers first-class comfort. As a segment-exclusive, the third row has available heated seats, and the first two rows are available with heated and cooled seats. Additionally, the front four seating positions all have a massaging seat option available. Second-row passengers can experience Infiniti's new, optional, Biometric Cooling. An infrared sensor in the headliner is able to detect when a passenger is too warm and instantly adjusts temperature and airflow automatically. Infiniti says this system can get passengers to a comfortable temperature in 50% less time. Klipsch Audio With Individual Sound Zones The 2025 QX80 features two new Klipsch audio systems. The Pure and Luxe trims receive a 600 watt / 14-speaker system, while the Sensory and Autograph trims take audio performance to the next level with a Klipsch Reference Premiere Audio System featuring 1,200 watts of power through 24 speakers providing Individual Audio functionality. Setting the system apart are titanium tweeters, four roof-mounted speakers, and 8-inch subwoofer, and a 24-channel amplifier. Individual Audio allows the system to direct certain audio elements, such as navigation, music, or phone calls, to one or both front seats. Metal trimmed speakers integrated into the headrests allow the front passenger to continue to listen to music while the driver takes a phone call, or allows both front occupants to listen to music without disturbing rear passengers. Infiniti has made the interior roomier, with cargo space behind the second-row up 18% and behind the third-row up 30% over the outgoing model. First and second row passengers will enjoy increased knee and foot room, while the third row receives increases in nearly all dimensions. QX80 Autograph At the top of the lineup is the QX80 Autograph. Distinguished by a two-tone roof, dark chrome trim, and 22-inch Layered Turbine wheels, the QX80 Autograph exudes craftsmanship. Autograph models feature unique semi-aniline leather with dot-quilting, open-pore ash wood trim with ultra-thing aluminum accents within. Second-row passengers can control the rear climate with an additional touchscreen mounted at the rear of the center console. 450-HP Twin-Turbo V6 and Air Suspension Powering all trims of 2025 QX80 is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated for 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 50 horsepower and 103 lb-ft over the outgoing model. Power is routed to the rear or all wheels via an updated 9-speed automatic with a 40% wider gear ratio for better off-the-line performance while still maintaining highway cruising efficiency. Available electronic air suspension and dynamic digital suspension can raise and lower the vehicle to meet various needs. At speed, the system will lower by 1.2 inches for better aerodynamics. When parked, it will lower 2.8 inches to ease ingress and egress. If the road gets rough or deep, the air suspension can raise the ride height 2.8 inches over normal. ProPILOT Assist and Pricing The QX80 features two levels of advanced driver assistance. ProPILOT Assist 1.1 is standard and combines Intelligent Cruise Control with steering assistance to help the driver stay centered in their lane. The system also uses data from the navigation system to proactively adjust vehicle speed for curves, interchanges, and other driving situations. Optional on Luxe and Sensory and standard on Autograph, ProPilot Assist 2.1 elevates the experience by allowing attentive drivers to take their hands off the wheel in certain freeway driving scenarios. 5. As one of Acura's most popular models, Acura doesn't need to change much with the formula of the MDX to keep it great. Still, for 2025, Acura included some minor revisions that might be a big deal to some. Mechanically, all of the dirty bits you don't see carry over, so if you liked the ride and drive before, you will again. The engines available remain a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6, making 290 horsepower, or the stouter 335 horsepower 3.0-liter turbo V6 that comes in the Type-S. Either one is mated to a 10-speed automatic. Exterior and Trim Lineup Changes Externally, you'll need to put the 2024 model next to the 2025 model to notice the changes. The front bumper has a new shape, the grille is wider, and there is a new mesh design. Acura has rejigged the entire trim lineup, adding a new A-Spec Advance that offers a taste of features previously only available on the Type-S. The Type-S itself has been dropped and is now only available in the top-of-the-line Type-S Advance trim. Both A-Spec Advance and Type-S Advance come with quilted leather front seats with massage, a heated second row, sound isolation, and a heads-up display. The Type-S Advance also gets a heated steering wheel and a 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen entertainment system, up from the previous year's 25-speaker ELS unit. Goodbye Touchpad, Hello 12.3-Inch Touchscreen The most welcome change is the removal of the console-mounted touchpad in place of a new 12.3-inch touchscreen. Removing the touchpad also makes more room for additional storage and a closer reach for the wireless phone charging pad. The infotainment system is powered by Google Built-In and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. If you didn't opt for the Type-S Advance trim, you'll have to make due with an 11-speaker system in the lower trims or a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen system in the higher trims. Updated AcuraWatch Safety Suite On the safety front, the 2025 Acura MDX gets an upgraded AcuraWatch safety suite with a new front camera and grille-mounted radar that improves detection range. The field of view is wider to spot pedestrians and lane markings. Range for the blind-spot monitoring system is also improved. Check out the 2025 Acura MDX photo gallery for a closer look at the A-Spec, Type S, and Advance trims. The upgrades will arrive as soon as next month when the 2025 Acura MDX goes on sale. No pricing has been announced.

  7. This was a cool read on MT, their BIG Test of Luxury SUVs. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/cadillac/escalade/2015/the-big-test-large-luxury-suvs/ The end results were as follows: 6TH PLACE: INFINITI QX80 When you factor in worst in test fuel economy, a cramped third row, and those awkward looks, you have a big SUV that only one of us loved. 5TH PLACE: LINCOLN NAVIGATOR Although it’s cheaper than the others, it’s not nearly as luxurious. We love the powertrain and the ‘Gator’s utility. 4TH PLACE: LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER HSE Gorgeous truck, Gerry McGovern be praised. But the suspect build quality and pricey everything else leaves us cold. 3RD PLACE: LEXUS LX 570 Old age and treachery get some respect! Not ideal for all owners, but there’s something uniquely desirable about Lexus’ go-anywhere bruiser. 2ND PLACE: MERCEDES-BENZ GL450 Our former SUV of the Year is starting to show signs of age. Still, the GL remains one of the smartest SUVs you can buy. 1ST PLACE: CADILLAC ESCALADE PLATINUM The best looking, the best interior, the best sounding, and the quickest in our test. The Cadillac Escalade Platinum stole our hearts. In reading the write up, it was amazing to see many of the folks involved in the testing said while they all picked this as the SUV of the Year in 2015, looking back, the exterior and interior are sadly showing how dated it is. Not holding up well compred to the Escalade. I was also surprised by the fact that they found the Lexus was actually a better off roader and more features for off road driving than the vaunted Range Rover. The lexus had the most features that allowed you to do things the range rover could not. I honestly thought it was a very balanced, one of the better reads from MT.
