    Subaru XV Gets A New Name

    When the Subaru XV crossover arrives onto our shores sometime next year, it will come with a different name.

    During a presentation at the LA Auto Show this week, Subaru of America's Executive Vice President, Thomas J. Doll confirmed the Impreza-based crossover will be named the Subaru XV Crosstrek, not the Impreza Outback Sport.

    Why the name change? Well there could be two reasons. The first is the Impreza is known as the inexpensive compact car in Subaru's lineup. By separating all the different variants of the Impreza (XV Crosstrek, WRX, and STi), they can charge more for them. Secondly, Subaru has seen good sales results from separating the Legacy and Outback lines.

    The Subaru XV Crosstrek will make it's way to the US in 2012 as a 2013 model.

    I like it. I hope they stick the 2.5L in it though, because I've heard the new Impreza is rather anemic with the new smaller injun, if they try it in this higher-riding Crosstrek, they'll be asking fer trouble.

      This is a Good Review of the Chinese EV and why American auto industry is Dead Man Walking. American stupidity just does not understand that competition from others have already surpassed the U.S. and no amount of Taxation on U.S. citizens is going to allow the industry to catch up. Idiot47 has truly screwed this country in going backwards as he criminally abuses the highest office in this country for his own gain. QUOTE: Chinese EV makers such as Xiaomi, BYD and Geely have earned global accolades because their cars deliver longer battery ranges and deeply integrated digital platforms. We’re talking software that feels smooth like a brand new smartphone, not a screen you have to jab five times to load a map. Plus, they often cost tens of thousands of dollars less than Western competitors. In Europe and Mexico, they’re blowing past Tesla and other EV rivals. “The competitive reality is that the Chinese are the 700-pound gorilla in the EV industry,” Ford CEO Jim Farley told me in an interview last year. “There’s no real competition from Tesla, GM or Ford with what we’ve seen from China.” Even Farley, after driving a Xiaomi SU7, said he didn’t want to part with it. I test drove a Chinese EV. Now I don’t want to buy American cars anymore.

      Spot on how far EVs have come and why fear of winter on the battery pack is so over blown for well made EVs.
