General Motors Details The Compensation Fund For Victims Of Ignition Switch

The Details Are Out On The Compensation Fund For Victims Of The Ignition Switch Recall

This morning, General Motors and Kenneth Feinberg have announced the details for the long awaited ignition switch recall compensation fund.

The fund will be open to family members of anyone that was killed or injured due to ignition switch failure. That will include passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists that were killed or seriously injured because of the ignition switch. Victims will be able to begin the process starting on August 1st. Applications are due by December 31st. Feinberg says that claims will take around 90 to 180 days.

As for how much GM will be paying out, that is completely up in the air. Feinberg has said that he isn't going to try and estimate how much will paid due to how many variables there are. GM hasn't placed a cap on how much money will be paid out by the fund, which leads some attorneys to think the company could be paying out billions of dollars.

“GM understands. GM wants to do the right thing — and the right thing is paying people who can document their claims, and that’s a challenge. I would not dare estimate how many deaths or how many injuries until people file their claim and we evaluate the claim,” said Feinberg.

However, victims who apply will have to prove their accident was the cause of the ignition switch. Also if you apply for the fund, you lose your right to sue GM at a later date.

    • Ive posted enough videos where Charlie speaks since the day he got shot...    Its snippets here and there but it really shows the piece of shyte he really was.  Its up to enlightened people to actually listen for themselves.  Not my snippets and not on somebody else's youtube channel. Charlie left quite a social media presence.  And if one wants to learn to actual phoquing truth to how toxic he really was, its ALL there.   If not...PHOQUE CHARLIE AND AND PHOQUE THE THE DEAF EARS ASSHATS THAT WILL NOT AND REFUSE TO ACTUALLY SEE THE REALITY!!!   The latest shyte coming out from that shytty family is his shytty phoquing widow spewing hatred...   I honestly do not know how a SANE person could NOT see the bullshyte and the hate???!!!  Its up to enlightened people to search her up and what she said RIGHT AFTER he got shot and the bullshyte at his wake this past Sunday.  Charlie was NOT a politician.  He never held ANY public office and he was NEVER elected by the people for ANY public office job. He was at best an influencer on social media.  He got money from far right money people to go to university campuses to preach far right extremist thoughts. He debated students. But HE...HE didnt really debate. He spewed lies CONFIDENTLY and pushed his agenda through intimidation tactics speaking over and loudly over the debaters that contradicted him.   He was NOT an advocate to debate. To reason. To free speech and he definitely was not for both sides to sit down and talk.   Only a phoquing fool sees that of Charlie!!!   By this time next year, Charlie will have been forgotten just like Gingrich and Limbaugh before him...
    • I am not the biggest fan and follower of politics.  I sort of woke up in 2016.  However, I did find one short video with Kirk saying, 'If I'm getting on a plane and the pilot is Black, I hope he's had the proper training.'  That's all I needed to hear.   That might be something an insult comic would have had in their skit in 2005.  That is not at all suitable for a political spokesperson and a world away from anything Christian ... and certainly not a person that should fill up a stadium in Arizona to be mourned.
    • I think you need to look deeper at this. He made his money, millions of it, by talking, so he has a natural desire to keep the conversation going. He was also incredibly disingenuous about it. It's all well and good to say we shouldn't build walls, but he was responsible for building or reinforcing most of them.  This tweet is just rage bait designed to get the right wing angry at the gays, many of whom serve in the military.  May is Military Appreciation month. So not only is he spreading bigotry, he's also spreading misinformation.... and he did that All. The. Time.  When he got shot, he was in the process of trying to blame mass shootings on trans people. I frequently see people say that he was taken out of context, but when you go look up the entire context, what he's saying is even worse. You know what dead guy you don't have to ever explain context about? Mr. Rogers.  Did you know he also kept a public list of professors who taught on subjects like feminism, LGBT issues, or even just American history that he didn't like? He posted these professors pictures and contact information on his website and turned his supporters loose on them flooding them with death threats, sending barrages of e-mail and phone calls to universities to get these professors fired, some of them even having to uproot their lives and move.  Doesn't sound very in the spirit of "just keep talking" does it?  Imagine having 100,000 people e-mail your boss saying you need to be fired in the worst terms possible. That's not very freedom of speechy of him. He spread Covid misinformation too, something which conservatives have been 100% wrong about on every angle of the subject for over 5 years now.  His entire operation was grift. Getting people angry in order to extract money from them. Heck, his memorial service yesterday was selling Merch! His wife set up a gofundme even though they've been bringing in millions for years.  So, while you feel you may have some alignment on his views, I would highly encourage you to find out what he was really about and the positions he took specifically to build the very walls he was claiming to want to pull down.  But feel free to post a position he had that you agree with and I'll take a wack at it.
