Aston Martin Launches its First SUV

...Broad range of capability from sportscar dynamics to off-road versatility...

Aston Martin has unveiled their DBX SUV in Beijing China.  This is the first SUV in the brand's 106-year history. It is being build at a new plant in Wales that is part of Aston Martin's second century rebirth plan.

The DBX uses a bonded aluminum construction method to help keep weight down. At 4,949 lbs., it's relatively light weight for a full-size V8 powered luxury SUV.  An adaptive triple chamber air springs allow the DBX to raise ride height by 45mm or lower by 50mm. This allows for versatility in terrain and handling, but also helps with getting into and out of the vehicle, or with vehicle loading.  The air ride system also allows for variable spring stiffness, combined with an electric anti-roll control system and adaptive dampers helps the DBX handle more like a sports car than an SUV.

Powered by an new version of Aston Martin's 4-liter, twin-turbo V8, that is also found in the DB11 and Vantage, the 542 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft of torque V8 can propel the DBX from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 second and achieve a top speed of 181 mph. The engine feature cylinder deactivation to increase fuel economy. All-wheel drive is standard and the power gets to all 4 wheels through a 9-speed automatic. An active center differential plus electronic rear limited slip differential allows torque to be transferred front to rear and side to side on the rear axle.

The interior of the DBX, as expected, is a sumptuous place to spend your driving time. The cabin has been designed to accommodate the 99th percentile male and 5th percentile female provides class leading headroom and legroom. All of the seats are trimmed in full grain leather while the headliner and blind for the full panel sun room covered in Alcantara finish. Buyers can choose from wood, composite, and metal veneers to suit any taste.

A 10.25 inch screen sits flush in the center console while a 12.3 inch. Apple Car Play is standard as well as a 360-degree camera system and ambient lighting with 64 colors.

The starting MSRP for the DBX in the U.S. is $189,900 with deliveries expected to start in late spring 2020.

Maybe not Korean this guy, but an '80s icon martial artist and actor.  Buff AF

GIF excited bolo yeung bloodsport - animated GIF on GIFER

    Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan | Jackie chan, Bruce lee, Bruce lee movies

All 3 have 1 thing in common:

    MARTIAL ARTS

Perfect body, perfect mind happens when this discipline is practiced.   Koreans have their own style of martial arts.  Taekwondo I believe it is.

    One question?

Koreans,  @David only now have come to adopt "perfect bodies"?   Body building being the catalyst?  A western (Ancient Greek actually) thing and not from the influence of martial arts being an eastern thing?

    Interesting...

Asian rim seems to run 40 years behind the US in that regards as only the last decade has Japan and China also gotten into body building big time.

Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan need to work on those chests. Way to flat man. :)

Maybe flat, but can kick your ass upside down and sideways.

Those pecs are muscles super cut from their own body's weight.  No "bodybuilding" weightlifting, tearing up and healing, coming back stronger and bigger pecs, but from training and practicing martial arts. Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, running, hitting objects, hitting other humans and getting hit back and meditation.

Also, big pecs and huge python biceps, aside from steriod use, is determined from genetics and asian men, for the most part,  are usually less huge in the pecs and biceps than say...Aryan men, such as yourself.   Aryan men are huge goliaths naturally. Add a slight touch of free weights to that and Aryan men become...monoliths.   LOL

Besides, huge muscles negate flexibility and speed, and martial arts is all about the flexibility and speed.  Which is more important than being big.

Yeah, my kids in high school were big into martial arts. Badass little chic, about 4-10 and 85 pounds was a badass little fighter. She and my 6-2 son used to really enjoy fighting each other.

    • Its simple capitalism.   More precisely to say though...its GREED. And because this is happening in the US in 2025, and to be fair it is reciprocated here in Canada, and this phenomenon has been in effect since the 1980s, its CORPORATE GREED since both of our countries have made ourselves servants and lackeys  to these corporations. We abide by everything they tell us through their shytty adverts. We have stopped patronizing mom and pop shops etc...   And when Trump was tooting tariffs as his election campaign, the democrats warned of such dangers about corporate greed...about how tariffs work (the citizen pays the tariff and not the country as its a fancy word for tax and how corporations will augment the un-tariffed product to be closer in sales price as the tariffed product...  But, Harris and her party were all doom sayers.   And she has a weird laugh on top of that.  And the talk went on to be about how they are eating the dogs and they are eating the cats...     Basic education is terrible in the US.  And its by design as a certain political party in the US (and Canada to be fair but the tactic is less successful as Canadians are more community oriented)  defunds education every time they go into power. Its also by design that in today's world, the two most northern countries in North America choose to glorify ignorance and vilify knowledge and education. To a lesser extent up here in Canada for whatever reason.  Canadians in general continue to value enlightenment.     Critical thinking skills be shrinking in the US of A.   Liittle catchy slogans is what grabs attention though.  They are eating the dogs and eating the cats.  We did have something similar in Canada though.  Trudeau has nice hair was our cat/dog moment 10 or so years ago.  But Trudeau won.  And if it wasnt for Doge, Musk, tariffs, Epstein, 51st state rethoric, 36 counts of felonies, we too, be having our Maple Maga movement.  But...education is a priority up here in Canada still...
    • AGREE!!! Dating myself, but back in the late 70's/early 80's I worked at the cinema and was the snack bar shift lead. One of the basic tests to get a position and make more money was those that worked the snack bar had to be able to do basic math in their head. I would daily have to test them by placing random order of products and they had to add it up in their head and then based on the cash received give back proper change but a requirement here in Washington state was to count it back so as a simple example. You order up $13.50 in food, give them a $20 dollar bill and they would have to count it back as food, $13.50, two quarters make it $14, a one makes it $15 and a five makes it $20 so they know they got the correct change. Today, go to any store and most struggle to look at the screen and figure out the proper change to give back and then they just hand you a pile of coin and paper without counting it back to ensure it is proper.  Basic math in America is terrible.
    • Yep. We're already not in a great place because of the tariffs, but companies are absolutely taking advantage of that and charging so much more than the tariff itself and then claiming it's raised because of tariffs. It's as if they don't think people understand how to do math.  Then again, in all fairness, most people don't know how to do simple math. So, there is that.
