We now have a little Suburban & a big one

Recommended Posts

I took home a near perfect condition 1989 Suburban last night. The vehicle is almost identical to the brochure for 1989.

We wanted something that we could go 4-wheeling in and use to tow, which originally was going to be a Bravada. My wife found this Suburban which was owned by an elderly couple since new.

It has only 82,000 miles and included tons of records. Supposedly they only used the 4-wheel drive 3 times when it snowed here in the PDX area.

The truck includes;

1. Silverado package

2. Power Windows / Locks / Tilt / Cruise

3. Rear and Front A/C

4. Roof rack

5. AM/FM CD player

6. 3rd seat

7. Front bucket seats

8. 350 cu in engine with a 4 speed automatic

Here are the pictures promised. 1989 Suburban V1500 Silverado & 2006 HHR 2LT

Very nice truck. Just a word of advice though: get an auxiliary tranny cooler installed on that 700R4 ASAP. That tranny isn't nearly as capable for heavy hauling as the old Turbo 400 that they used to use in the trucks.

Sounds great--I've never been in a vehicle that felt like it could take more of a beating than my friend's old '89 Suburban with 300k on it! Tank, in every way, is the only way to describe it and makes our newer one feel like a minivan.
