This part of the article jumped out at me... I tend to think the writer is being a little optimistic here:

" With a production version that’s set to look virtually identical to the concept going on sale in 2008, the newcomer is primed to cause a real stir in the compact family hatch market. "

What I do see is the evolution of the Chevy grille already - with the upper part of the grille getting a twist inward.

You'll see what I mean when you get a look at the Chevy Colorado SEMA concept that is going to emulate this front-end look (still embargoed).

Wow it looks amazing in those photos. Lutz did say that it's the concept version of the new worldwide Cobalt coming in a few years, but I fear it will be like the PreVUE turning into the RealVUE...

Walt, when is the embargo up on the SEMA Colorado?

I sure hope they built this in 2008 cause as it stands i will be forced to buy a caliber for my wife, it's the ONLY small car that has any looks to it, and it's cheap!!!

So it appears that the future of Chevrolet design will consist of what, in essence, is an oversized hood scoop as the top part of the grille.

It needs a bit more polish before being released as anything. Otherwise we might wind up with another 2004 Malibu.

I think the basic design will tone down nicely for production.

That would happen if gm gives the pink slip to it's focus groups.
