  1. Are those Camaro wheels?
  2. It is funny that you say that because lets be serious the Solstice and G8 have no significance in sales and really that is what matters. The G6 is taking off and being as it has been unchanged since it went on the market what 4 years ago. That right there is as good of a reason to stick w/ Epsilon for the next G6 and not switch to Alpha, which surely everyone can admit will have lower sales than an equivalent FWD Epsilon model.
  3. Isn't GM Daewoo (which is a part of GM Holden) also working on some diesels?
  4. Some people can be so blinded by loyalty that they can't see what is plainly to many models. Try this on for size: Caddy: Sedan, Wagon Buick: Sedan Pontiac: Coupe Opel/Saturn: Wagon
  5. Who said Holden is working on small diesels? They could be considered 'medium' or 'large'. As big a fan as you are of GME, perhaps you should remember that it is a fiefdom w/in the kingdom of GM. This kind of attitude is what got Ford into the mess it was in before Mullaly came to them.
  6. I am surprised nobody else mentioned this. I would. Look if I am going out to buy a sports wagon I want RWD, nice interior, good looks w/ good practicality. I don't shop based upon a dollar amount up. I shop a dollar amount down. If I can afford $50k but can get 80% of the looks, features, and practicality for $30k why should I spend the difference?
  7. I am pretty sure I have seen that sketch before.
  8. That wasn't the Feretta was it.
  9. I use NoScript and sometimes it takes a second to get things I want to see to play because I have to click allow a few times but in the end I see almost no flash ads.
  10. Lets say the Commodore drops 200-300 lbs and uses only the 2.0 DI turbo (260/260) from the Kappa cars. Would that not work well?
  11. I disagree I think it should share the 1.4 GDI Turbo engine as its base w/ the 2.0 GDI Turbo as the top end engine. In fact I said the Cruze should have gone to Buick and let the Cobalt continue on for Chevry a while ago. It is just the small premium car that Buick needs in the world of high gas prices and small premium luxury cars.
  12. Lets back up a little here guys: Kappa isn't an under utilized platform. Kappa is an inflexible platform. It can make 2 door, 2 seat coupes and convertibles. With GM hurting for money this is a no brainer. Kappa doesn't make money, doesn't offer good ergonomics, and doesn't offer storage capacity. It was made to streamline the production channel and to show off what Pontiac is. That job is done. While the current Y-body Corvette is a little larger and more powerful, who is to say that the next one will be. Maybe the Solstice will move to the Y-body. Maybe the Solstice will die, either way I am sure something will replace it.
  13. The Aveo base price is 2/3 of the base price of the Fit, not really a strong comparison. The Aveo is so incredibly cheap it makes the other subcompacts look downright expensive by comparison. The Fit's pricing is more in line with the old cavalier than the Aveo. While it doesn't quite reach Cobalt/Civc cost it isn't that far of a stretch that I wouldn't make the jump up to the true compact.
  14. Perhaps the sedan will get a rear end closer to the coupe/convertible. That is the really stale model.
  15. That is a F*CKING awesome ride in your signature!!!
  16. Anyone else getting a combo of the Chrysler Firepower and ZR1 mixture vibe from that. Don't get me wrong it looks nice but I think that AM should press further instead of deriving other brand's designs. Their current crop of models is definitely pure sex on wheels.
  17. FWIW some individuals would purchase a 5.7 car and send it to ASC to perform the convertible conversion. The 8th digit is an 8 for the 5.7 and a F for the 5.0 TPI motors A TBI 5.0 could also have been sent off for the conversion but is less likely. Be sure to find out the RPO code of the factory convertibles from some place like thirdgen.org . You don't want to take on someone else's project afterall.
  18. It sure does. I wonder how they will fit them on the shelves at Walmart.
  19. Well since it has worse NVH (on the turbo model) and won't meet the upcoming tighter emissions I would say there is a reason it is going away.
  20. thirdgen.org used to have quite a few 1LE owners and resources on there. But I haven't been on there for a few years. BTW what color 1LE is it?
  21. If you haven't you need to. All KY residents should do this.
