Chrysler and Chery

Featured Replies

I don't know if this has been confirmed or discussed much yet today but while I was going to the W.P. Chrysler Museum today, I got lost at the tech center. While we were trying to find the Museum again, we drove by a holding lot of their test cars I believe and what comes to my attention, a lime green Chery A1 sitting with all of the other Chryslers. However, I saw at least one or two more sitting there so Chrysler is indeed testing the possiblities. It doesn't appear they want to hide the car as there was no camo and and lime green stands out in a sea of silver and black cars. Also I saw a new Challenger today going north on I-75 between Squirrel road and Crooks Rd.

The A1 at least isn't disgusting looking or a carbon copy of another vehicle.

Still, I'd hope they'd make it more distinctive and like the Hornet and a better interior. The design seems ok but the materials are worse than the worst Chrsyler has now and the build quality looks pretty lousy too.

Also, there doesn't appear to be any wheel well covers...probably should ad those.

Is that a Nav I see?

I was hearing that Chrysler was more interested into using Chery's platforms and not their actual cars.

That's what i heard as well and is of the general consensus. I don't think Chery will supply 6 cars or there will even be 6 spinoffs of Cheries.

I cant wait until they hit the roads, just for the jokes when they get into accidents. I cannot even imagine how many "popped Chery" jokes there are going to be.

OMG, no you didn't, LOL!

For those wondering why the 'Breeze' name was retrademarked, here's your answer....its the rebadged Chery A1, as the Dodge Breeze. See AutoBlog.com

Hmmm...Breeze as in a flattus emission? :)

Breeze isn't a violent name, though (since most of Dodge's current lineup has violent names)... maybe Tornado SRT4 would work..
