Thats a Yukon GT. I dont think I've ever seen one with barn doors in person. Its too bad they put those unfortunate taillights.

And in the top pic, you can see the reflection of my Buick's triumphant return to being a kayak bitch.

I ran into the marina to use the bathroom, and when I came out it was there. I saw and and thought, "Oh, a Yukon GT, cool" then I walked to my car and started backing out when I saw it had barn doors. I had to get a pic because I had heard rumors of them but hadn't ever seen one, just like the Tahoe with the diesel. If only the keys had been in the ignition.

Wasn't the diesel only available on 2-doors in '94 and '95? Seems like GM would've been better off putting it in the 4-door, since thats where the market was heading.

I'm in a weird way glad GM didn't produce this:

because the GMT-800 styling doesn't translate as well as the 400 did. Then again, a 2-door Tahoe with a Duramax would be a pretty cool ride.

Link with a couple more pics of a GMT-800 2-door.

I'm not sure about the years the diesel was offered (it may have been gone in '95), but it was the old 6.2, which I'd never want.

As for the 800 two-door, I'd have to agree that it didn't translate quite as well as the 400 did - but I still wanted one!

A duramax swap into a 6.2 400 2-door would be very cool!

The 6.2 was the best GM could do at the time, but if they had offered it and people had bought it, they might not have given up on diesels in SUVs.

Dont you have a Duramax powered Silverado and a 2-door Tahoe? I smell a project.

The only 2-door GMT-400 SUV I've ever driven was a new 1994 Blazer Silverado with the diesel engine at Reedman Chevrolet in Langhorne, PA. I got to drive it while my best-friend was car shopping for a new '95 Beretta Z26! Those diesels did exist, though this one was a leftover at the time (I drove it in the fall of '94 as the new '95 models were starting to arrive <with the new interior>).

Oh, and if GM would have issued a 2-door full-size SUV like that white or red one, I would have ordered one back in 2001 when I ordered a Sonoma Highrider. I love that picture of the white Tahoe with wheel flares!

There will be no swap there.

The Siverado will be keeping its duramax.
