Even the smallest domestic V6, in stock form, has more useable low rpm torque and horsepower than most "built" 4cyl. engines.

yup... the old 3800 stil kicks ass. Even w.out sc/turbo help.
I guess it's not fair if we gave this to like a critic and watched them write something like, "And using the ANCIENT V6, Toyota's performance was subpar."

Interesting how a 3800 can be mated to a Toyota truck.

If memory serves me correctly, the early 60's toyota 4x4(yes the one that lookslike the upcoming FJ) and Nissan Patrol were actually GM 3/4 ton truck designs that were sold to them.
Yep, 22R was a rock solid engine (mostly) but around here you were good for 50 mph and dropping in a 4wd in 4th and would be shifting into 3rd near the top. My V6 Dakota was so much nicer on the road, I eventually parked my Notoy. The Notoy was quite a little bear, very hard worked truck. 264,000 miles at much earlier retirement than necesssary. I know you all dont need to hear about me and the 38 yet again so forget about that one. B)
