Cheers or Jeers: 53,000 Mile 1990 Buick Reatta Convertible

This Reatta is in exceptional, driver quality, condition. The car has been meticulously serviced with new brakes, new A/C compressor converted to R-134, new alternator, new ignition system, new catalytic converter and all other regular maintainance items. The tires are matching Michelin with plenty of tread remaining. This car has been my every day driver for over 2 years.

You will see in the photos that the car once had an auxiliary antenae for a car phone which has been removed and the hole covered with a chrome cap. Also note that the interior is clean and original and that the driver's seat shows more normal wear than the passenger's seat. The Red Sox steering wheel cover, floor mats and plate bracket show that I am a Red Sox fan but does not cover or disguise anything beyond normal 53K mile usage. If you want the Red Sox items I will include them, but I prefer to use them in my next car. I also added a dash cover kit custom made for this car to protect the dash from the summer sun which I will include with the sale. The original floor mats and owner's manual come with the car. I have two key remotes, but only one is working at this time. The other might need to be programmed. I have never had a need for the second remote.

Every option on the car operates as it should. The body and top are all original and in great condition for the age of this car.

This car spent all its life in Oklahoma prior to my ownership which the carfax will verify. The side windows were tinted there and are still tinted now.

I purchased the car with about 37,000 miles and drove it home to South Carolina without issue. I mention this to demonstrate that the car was in excellent condition when I first bought the car and the servicing I have done was to insure that everything was reliable and updated during my ownership.

If you are looking for a fun, reliable sport convertible to use and enjoy...This is the car for you. I have a reasonable reserve on this sale.

I'd rather have a '91 convertible for the small upgrades that year received (but these two years are the only ones that offered convertibles, making them rare). Also, this may be one of the rare '90 convertibles that were part of a special edition from Buick (they were all white with red interiors). I'll have to look-up that info and post it here; it may make this car more attractive to the right buyer.

EDIT: Found this on Wikipedia.org:

Select Sixty

In 1988, approximately fifty five Reattas were designated "Select Sixties" and were specially allocated to the top sixty Buick dealers. These cars were all painted black, and had a tan interior. The only differences between these and a regular Reatta are a special Select Sixty hood emblem and a X22 marketing code. As the special emblems were usually sent to the dealer separate from the car, some Select Sixty cars were sold before receiving their emblems.

In 1990, the Select Sixty program was again run, with sixty five cars being built. These were white convertibles which previewed several 1991 features, including a flame red interior (instead of garnet red), white bucket seats, white 16 inch wheels, and the cup holder. Again, special emblems were provided for the hood.

So this one is not part of the Select Sixty '90 convertibles.
