My father was a personal friend of the Kalitta family.

They were planning on running a ford Taurus in NHRA pure stock, and were going to call it the Kalitta Taurus

...and while I am not into drag racing as much as other forms...going 74 miles an hour in the first 21 feet of track sounds like a blast....

The thing is already going faster than the top speed of the fastest road going vehicle in just 3 seconds. and then almost a second later it's travelled 1000feet!!
