Ford moving ahead with Mexico production

Recommended Posts

I thought what they were originally doing was just moving small car production down there while retooling a plant here for the Bronco/Ranger.

Those two Mexico plants are parts and engines not final assembly.

I feel like this is two different stories getting put together by the wonderful media.

Possibly but my understanding is that at least one of those plants were one of the ones facing criticism from Trump. I could be wrong though which is why I was asking for a little insight on it.

Regardless, it's still an interesting development given the current political climate.

That it would. What most of these fools don't realize is that a lot of parts and cars made there are bound for many other countries other than the US.

Yes, two stories are blended here. Ford was all about moving small car production to Mexico, but the drop in sales and changes have changed that and this is what POTUS was all about.

Ford is now looking to move small part production to Mexico which is another story. Be interesting to hear how POTUS will feel about this.

Especially when those plants are building for other markets.
