  2. Well, I have the cabin in the woods on 150 acres 90 miles from here... but I would need to remove it's current resident. I don't think I will ever live there again, though..too far from civilization...likely can't get high speed internet, no Starbucks within 25 miles, no Dunkin Donuts within 50 miles, no DoorDash service...

  3. I would like to see a cost comparison (manufacturing) for comparable ICE and E powertrains.

  4. Anyone ever just want to liquidate everything and go live in a cabin in the woods away from everyone?

  5. I have several Tommy Bahama shirts in my summer wardrobe. Working from home, though, I usually wear gray hoodies and t-shirts, sweats or shorts and flip-flops. Everyday more casual than casual Friday... I have a closet full of dress clothes for when I have to go back to an office...

  6. Batteries are made of expensive metals... just because they don't get shaped into visually interesting machines doesn't make them cheap. Electric drivetrains still require lots of design and engineering work, otherwise everyone would have loads of them already.

  7. I just find it noteworthy : size-wise the e-tron slots below the Q5, but it's double the price (with far less mechanicals/engineering).

  8. The Saudis are one of the few out there that sees the writing on the wall with regard to fossil fuels. With an economy so heavily invested in oil they are working feverishly.... no... frantically... to diversify their economy. They're trying to open up to tourism by building brand new resort cities on their south eastern coast. They are now allowing women to drive. They are working on solar and electric car projects. They are getting deep into banking and foreign real estate. I may not agree with them on most things... but they know what's up and are planning ahead.

  9. Yup, they're going after Tesla. The Model X is $71k for slightly less range.... and Tesla will be running out of tax credits soon while Audi still has a bit further to go.

  10. It looks slightly smaller than a Q5 which would put it right at the meat of the market.

  11. My take-away to date is: all the OEMs coming out to "battle Tesla" are completely decimating Musk's stated goal of 'EVs for the masses' because the spearhead of long-range EVs to date is 75 grand and up. Ridiculous, but the only way OEMs can hedge against running an EV program deeply in the red. And as Tesla has shown with uninterrupted regularity; even that's not high enough. For all the 'less parts/ simplier mechanics' of an EV, they are hovering at double what the average car buyer is willing to spend. Sorry; a bit nicer materials and a few gee-whiz functions are not what the mainstream is willing to double their payments on.
