  1. So, everyone seems to know that Princess Juliana international airport on the Dutch island of St. Maarten in the Caribbean is the place to watch large aircraft buzz over you on the beach as they land at this airport, just across the roadway and fence. It turns out some Greek islands, such as Skiathos (Sporades chain) and Corfu, also have close margins for landings and take-off. This one - recently occurring at Skiathos, a beautiful, greener, and less known island of Greece compared to Santorini and Mykonos - takes the cake. Caught on camera: Viral video shows Wizz Air plane landing close to beach at Skiathos Airport in Greece - ABC7 Los Angeles Another "tight" airport is Cristiano Ronaldo (soccer player) Airport on the Portuguese island of Madeira - not part of the Azores chain. On pylons next to the ocean.

  2. Pittsburgh is dominated by two main gas chains, GetGo and Sheetz. GetGo is run by our dominant grocery chain and they have a points scheme where you get discounts on gas based on grocery purchases and discounts on groceries based on gas purchases. It’s designed to psychologically trap you into only using them for both. Unfortunately their grocery prices are also the highest, so even with the discounts you’re paying more than you should. I stopped playing the game a while ago and now use just Costco + Aldi for groceries and gas.

  3. R.I.P. to the Dodge Challenger and Charger. 2023 is the end of ICE for them. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/15/dodge-challenger-charger-to-be-discontinued-in-2023.html

  4. Join me in wishing @NINETY EIGHT REGENCY , a long time member and our reporter, a happy birthday! Thanks to Landis, we get to sample automotive videos and articles from past decades as well as more recent ones. Some of them now look and sound very funny to us in 2022 and, then, some of the regular presenters of these videos are quirky and entertaining. Nonetheless, all of the content is informative. Today is also the birthday of Napoleon Bonaparte and Julia Child. I always knew that. Of more contemporary personalities, it is the birthday of Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lawrence, and Melinda Gates. But most of all, this is a day I always remember because it would have been my dad's birthday. My dad always spoke his mind and his filter didn't always work, so this could be entertaining. My mom always went for the diplomatic approach and tried to keep the peace with everyone. I think I'm much more like my dad in this regard. Happy birthday, Landis!

  6. Ive never used Costco for gas. (I dont use Costco all that much to begin with) I got a Costco at about 5-6 miles from my house and restaurant, but its kinda out of m way. Im like those anti-EV guys whining about charging times and charging stations not being in ideal locations. Well, Im not going to drive 15 minutes just to gas up when other gas stations are on my drive home. That 15 minute drive is going there, it will be another 15 minutes to come back. PLUS the amount of time waiting for a Costco pump to become available plus the actual time pumping gas... Gassing up, just like charging up for anti-EV people, but especially for gassing up, should be a fast convenience, not a slow, tedious, and Odyssean adventure.

  7. Nope, and this is a recent thing. It used to always be right about the rest of the area we live in, give or take $0.05-0.10. Since gas prices have been dropping, for the last month, they have just barely moved in town while all of the surrounding towns/cities have dropped significantly.

  8. So my wife was at a gas station just a few minutes ago and called me while pumping gas. The pump was pumping EXTREMELY slow but she pre-paid so she was sticking it out. We were on the phone for 5 minutes and it literally only pumped $6 worth of premium in that time span. I asked her, “you know what would fix this issue so it’ll never happen again?” Her, “no, what?” Me, “an electric car. You’d never need to pump gas again!” Her, “ugh, you and your electric cars…”

  9. Paid $3.45/gal for regular today, only had a $66 fill up...my lowest in a while. Back in June when I was driving to the farm 4-5 times a week, it was $90-100 every 2-3 days..
