  1. i believe something causes a possible short, which causes the fire. It already was an LED bulb under the mirror. I'm actively reaching out to Lincoln/Ford about it though, because I think it's ridiculous to just lose a feature due to a recall. I though recalls FIXED problems. Right?!? I'm hoping it's just a temp fix until they have an actual fix. Losing something on a vehicle for a recall is absurd, IMO.

  4. Facepalm is for the stupid way they did the fix, not a fix, lost feature you paid for. Totally agree with you. Sorry to hear it was such a bird brain idea by Ford. Wonder if you can reconnect it and replace the bulb that gets hot with a LED version that stays cool and will not cause a fire?

  6. I keep feeling like America ought to have a hand on the hot stove moment, but methinks the whole arm will burn off and we won't learn a damn thing. What the world is becoming here in America, content warning, offensive. Its going to be MUCH higher than that. Much.

  7. The U.S. is going to be hurting in ways no one ever has seen that is alive now. Idiot47 is DESTROYING America and Especially the American Auto Industry as we lose the respect of being a democracy of leading from Auto's to Tourism. ‘They’re Not Coming Anymore’ – $21 Billion In US Tourism Revenue Gone By 2025

  8. We have lost ten percent since January 20th, more to follow. Like I said in the other Thread, Maverick or Crosstrek. I just want something to get me to the next trail or camp site. This comment times one billion, I would upvote this to oblivion if I could.

  9. I had a recall done yesterday on my Navigator. The recall was to eliminate the risk of something catching fire due to the under-mirror lighting. The fix was to simply unplug the lights and I lose the feature. This seems pretty ridiculous, right? Like, there wasn't an actual fix. I just lost something I paid for. I had a loaner new Escape for the day though. It was..uhhh...okay...

  10. Parts supplier for Nissan and Stellantis? They make junk then, anyway.

  11. Kia...though they already seem to have a bad image at least w/ their cheaper ICE models. Of the list of midsize mainstream sedans, if I had to buy any of them, I'd go with the Accord...built here in Ohio, always had a good reputation and always known to be a pleasant drive.

  12. Very cool to see a story about this R34 that is here in the PNW. Awesome car that I love. This Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T Looked Good From Afar But Better Up Close

  13. Well TACO has failed again, reset back to what it was before the trade war started. FAILURE as it has exposed how much our Auto Industry and especially as we move to EVs is reliant on specific items that China Totally Controls. For Trump, Resolving US-China Trade Fight Comes at a Cost Magnets, to the smallest transistor if the U.S. is not going to have to rely on China for various materials that they control the global supply on, then U.S. creativity will have to happen to get us to develop parts that do not use them. The auto industry is going to hurt at the incompetence of trade, Tariff Tuesday might be a good update @Drew Dowdell on the long list of auto parts / materials that the U.S. is reliant on from China and outside the U.S. OUCH This Company clearly points the blame at #47 Tariffs. Trump tariffs claim first major victim as auto giant files for bankruptcy

  14. Another thing: Italy does not swap out driver's licenses for U.S. and Canada. You have to go to driving school ... about $750. Portugal swaps them out. Spain is teetering on how they're going to go with this. The decline of the dollar is concerning for being an expat anywhere if what you have is denominated in dollars. With an eroding middle class, California ain't so great. As an 18 year old, I thought I would never leave. It's expensive and not worth it.
