  1. These photos are quite flattering here. Makes one wish it was lowered with the fendere factory flared slightly more (think the current Z)
  2. I mean those Mopars are for whatever reason LONG gone. Maybe they just weren't big sellers, maybe they rotted very quickly, maybe every owner treated them like crap, maybe they were mostly quickly crushed. I'll be 31 in three months, and I've never seen one on the street a day in my life. It's sad too, because it's by and large not strange of Mopars throughout history. There's plenty of Darts and Valiants, but the Satellites and Chargers and Newports and even LeBaron GTCs of the world just start disappearing after a while. Dodge Spirits and Eagle Visions are only about 13 years old and I can't remember the last time I've seen one. This just doesn't happen with GM or Ford, and it's crazy. It's just this weird Chrysler thing we'll never understand.

Is that a wet suit or a smedium long sleeve shirt? Looks more American Gothic to me....
  4. Hey, Captain America, how ya doing....I know you've been in that block of ice for a while, and I'm here to let you know that you're not in the 1940s anymore. Welcome to the year 2007. Hopefully the future shock won't be too overwhelming for you.
  5. The Today show: This bakkie-style truck made by Volkswagen called a Pointer (and you KNOW it's Mexican-market) A lot of people driving Baja California plated cars near downtown, it seems.... FOUR Priuses (Prii?) in the intersection, aiming different directions, of course. Man, when a vehicle gets hot, it gets hot. Lastly, how are you gonna throw a cowl-induction hood on an Escalade? (it was a '98, I think)
  6. One look at those 50s Mopars says talk about good luck ever finding one.
  7. Last week, on back to back days heading down the second-to-home stretch from the schoolhouse, saw a 68 Bonneville hardtop (sadly adorned with puny-looking 80s Camaro wheels painted magenta to match the car) and a 68 LeSabre hardtop. Plenty of Sebrings all month, and the street angles bring me to disagree with the lot of you saying it looks bad....I think it looks great. An SRT-6 would definitely be nice. Also, the new Mercedes CL, on the street two days after seeing it on the lot. It's OK.
  8. Even though you're likely stuck with the four due to this sad stat: I would still slap you if you subjected it to those winters you guys have.I would like to see a Rover V8 (pre-Ford acquisition) thrown in there though. Or an Atlas four or five maybe?
  9. Thanks for upping one of mine. Didn't know it was still here. People who snob off about things they aren't getting paid to endorse frickin' irk me for real. Apple/Mac snobs, people who gush over A-list celebs, stuff like that. Broads on Myspace are beyond full of themselves. They all play by their own rules. I could go on forever with this, but straight men aren't supposed to go there.... Speaking of Myspace, all these people who jump over hurdles to let it be known they dont' watch TV, like they're above it all are corny as hell. No disrespect to those of you in New England, but I'm glad the Patriots got smashed. That way, I don't have to hear the same stuff I hear about the Spurs and Yankees before they're eliminated from playoff contention (you know, how they can dance underwater and not get wet, stuff like that) How stinkin' Fox and NBC have two of my shows going head to head (Heroes and 24) forcing me to record one in order to watch the other.... The colorways of a lot of NBA teams. Does the entire Western Conference have to wear sky bluer and navy blue together? (sticking with sports) One apparel company making every team's uniforms. I want it like the 90s or like European soccer, where there are a variety of companies making them and putting their designs in the mix. I know you guys love the 69 Camaro to DEETH, but the 67/68 looks much better. These gyms are strictly in the business of making money. They charge you for breathing, it seems. Also can't stand tryna get in shape next to all these people who already are. It's not inspiring, it's intimidating and discouraging. Women who just about DARE you to be interested in them are wack as hell too.... The way the sports talk fraternity acts like American football (especially the NFL) is the only sport in the world. NBA barely gets any time to shine (and sorry, it's better than college, and always will be), and they treat people who like hockey, let alone soccer, like they don't have a right to be alive. We skipped all of 2006 here, so I'll have many more later.

    Spied: BMW Z9

Both 6-series and the 8-series say hi.
  11. Yeah, that was my point, that M1 would be sacrilegious to those who remember or own that car. They could get away with calling it the second-generation M Coupe, however. Not that far of a departure from how the Z3 version looked.
  12. Gotta admit, for those who are enthusiasts (....of such), rear-drive is a selling point. One more rear-driver smaller than a 200-inch piece of luxury lead never hurts to have on the market.Being a BMW is a selling point for....others (though surely the BMW tuners have already made it somehow worthwhile to more than yuppies, chicks, and badge snobs). You know what sucks, by the way? They can't call the M version the M1, LOL...

    Spied: BMW Z9

    Reminds me of a TVR.
  14. Really though....to both. If they go in the Range Rover Sport direction, I won't be too angry, however....
  15. Drifters only care if the car is Japanese. As far as my verdict, BMW Gremlin anyone? And to everyone asking for a coupe around that size, they already have the 3 as far as notchbacks are concerned. Maybe a fastback? If they offered at least 230 horses (six? turbo four?), I'd listen. Volkswagens of that size tend to cost about as much as they're charging for one of these, but even then, they're GTI/GLIs. Would you bite if it looked more like basketball shoes of today?
  16. I actually like the Sebring. The many I've seen on the street show that its many profiles work. Would make a nice SRT-6 (sans any spoilers of course)The Avenger, now THAT'S offensive. In initial pictures, it pissed me off too, but that's another good looker on the street....
  17. Solstices.Today, I saw someone driving a Nissan X-Trail (the SUV the rest of the world gets instead of our X-Terra) over on Fig (short for Figueroa) and Washington. Baja California plates. And an E-Type Jag this morning.

After page 100, this thread has to die.
  19. Reminds me of what a Grand Prix should be.
  20. ^^^What is this cartoon?Isn't April Fool's Day 75 days away?

Props to turbo for throwing in something for the hets. Now, on to the OC talk. I don't think the The O.C. is a soap.....especially not in the Days Of Our Lives sense anyway... I think the two shows are quite different. There's quite a bit of action with the elders as well as the youngstas. It's ballenced about 45/55 in that respect. In 90210, it was totally aboutthe 8 teen/twentysomethings, and the two Walsh parents were acessories. That's the appeal to me....plus I love shows about SoCal. 90210 didn't have the former at all.
  23. At 400, or even down to a mere 310 horses, this would have been a nice Aztek GXP. Lookswise, that was the refreshing they should have done to rescue some sales.
  24. By the time of X-body Ventura and the H-body Sunbird, those respective models weren't intended to be Chevy-only.
  25. I can see where it's controversial, but I don't get where it's "weird"....In one sense, it's the Infiniti FX and one of Toyota's WILL cars thrown in a blender... In another sense it's the first E-body Seville (bustleback) and Imaj concept reimagined Chrysler style. I think it could very much work. Maybe if they demodernized it with those retro cues you guys swear by.... And to the person geting mad about a 425-horse vehicle only having a 5-sec. 0-60 time, keep in mind, we are pushing 2010, with all these safety and creature comfort technologies; that it's obviously skewing luxurious; and that it clearly won't be a compact now, let's not kid ourselves. Happy new year, BTW, folks...
