  1. While it would be a lot more fun if GM would make it RWD, I'm not sure that the market for plug-in electrics is really demanding that at this point. At the very least, I'm glad Cadillac gets a plug-in. I'm positive about this news, but I'd be ecstatic if it were RWD instead.
  2. The weather in LA has been fantastic.

Nah dude, not my thing...I'm not certified and I don't even have an idea about proper deep tissue techniques--when done right they're great, but they're best left to professionals because you can cause joint and ligament injuries if you don't know what you're doing.

Yea if that's how you're feeling now...you need a deep tissue massage, stat.

hahahahahaha that was a lesson back in high school. Seriously, I hope you're following some of my advice and not just using Ben Gay/IcyHot, otherwise you'll be disappointed. Oh, and don't take an NSAD...some people recommend an Advil, but more recent research shows that it actually is bad for you and your gym progress.
  6. I live in an area powered by tourism. People drive from all around to vacation here. Even Quebec and Ontario... We normally get a pretty standard cross-section of cars. Unless the 3 series, C-class and A4 are not suitable for vacationing... but we get lots of other quasi-impractical cars... Kappas, Vettes, Lotuses, Lambos... Good for you, but I live in an area fueled by tourism, too, and tourists don't rent or drive in those kinds of vehicles--they go for Mustangs or Sebrings. Everywhere I go, whether it's Orange County, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Malibu, San Luis Obispo, San Antonio, Houston, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Chicago, DC, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, St. Petersburg, Boca Raton, even Cleveland...the wannabe-rich and the kids of the rich sure seem to love their 3er/A4/C...hell the 3er coupe or convertible is THE CAR to have at USC on The Row...followed very closely by the last-gen Jetta. Where I'm used to seeing lots of compact premium models are places where professional people work...think suburban office parks, downtown parking garages, etc. And at upscale malls on weekends. At Starbucks anytime. Lots of 'em in the Denver and Phoenix metros....remember seeing a lot of Audis around Denver because of the AWD. Yup. Exactly the kind of jobs that Trading Up people work.

Well duh, you're gonna have DOMS for a day or two if you aren't used to really working out. You need to RICE (rest, ice, compress, elevate)...take a cold shower (yes, cold, not just lukewarm), and maybe get a massage if it's really bad. Then go back for another session in a day or two. The RICE works for localized muscle soreness, and the cold shower (just 5 minutes or so) really works by contracting the muscles so when you warm up out of the shower, they release the tension more quickly. Oh, and the best way to NOT get full-body DOMS is to keep working out. After a week or two you won't get it to this kind of degree again unless you go lazy for a while.

  9. I can see why some of you see a lot of Benz in the design--I think it's the very formal crease from headlights to C-pillar coupled with the more upright, formal hood height. I'm OK with it, just as I'm OK with the LaCrosse bearing more than a passing profile resemblance to the ES350.
  10. Seriously, we REALLY need to re-code the XD emoticon
  11. This is great, now I just can't wait to see the coupe!
  12. Am I missing something?? It almost seems like there's some underlying thing going on between OP and one of the admins... I for one think it's a great idea OP is able to trade all those cost savings by providing free advertising for his friend's business...and that he believes in it enough that there was no arm-twisting involved. A little jealous, actually, because I'd love to drive a Chevy Cruze with 42mpg.
  13. I'm 25 and don't have anywhere near the round-the-clock, all-nighter stamina I had at 22.
  14. Beautiful car. Pretty sure those wheels are factory-spec. Too bad about the engine, though.
  15. $h!, I hope the ATS coupe gets a diesel. THAT would be the next car I own.
  16. I absolutely love my Blackberry 9800 Torch. That said, the Torch 2 comes out in a few months, so anyone interested should wait for that as it will have upgraded hardware and will be able to run the next generation of OS, while mine won't be able to.
  17. That mental image just caused me to dry-heave. Farmer tans, stretch marks, outies and piggy people...oh god so f@#king foul!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Sorry Z...I have to disagree with you. I see zero "SAAB" in the 9-6X other than the badge...and while the 9-7X was pretty abysmal in execution, it quantitatively had more SAAB DNA in its design--they at least moved the ignition from the dash to the center console, something they couldn't have been bothered to do on this Subaru rebadge.

    Cooking with Croc

Well, the Coconut Crème Patisserie is already coconut-flavored from the coconut cream...so unless you want coconut pudding with bananas.............yea if coconut isn't your thing, might want to follow that recipe, eliminating the coconut cream in the cooking process. That'll give you a standard vanilla crème patisserie that you could pair with bananas...but I'd slice the bananas into the pie crust and pour the crème patisserie over them.
  20. Honestly, the "different sheetmetal" looks to be no more different than what Ford did with the Milan/Fusion: same panels, certain cut-outs were just bigger in certain directions. At least Ford had the sense to do that but end up with two vehicles that didn't look EXACTLY THE SAME except for the grilles. Also, you have a couple Tribeca designs there, and the 9-6X seems to have far more in common with the restyled Tribeca...which if memory serves the 9-6X would have launched at the same time as the Tribeca MCE...so the levels of differentiation are even less.

Yea I'd never use curry as a substitute for cayenne. Now, spaghetti in a curry sauce as opposed to a tomato sauce seasoned with curry could be really good. OR take a tomato sauce...add some cream/half-and-half/whole milk to it and then the curry...that could be good, too.

If making for a pie filling: Add ½ cup Unsweetened Finely-Shredded Coconut to the chilled Coconut Crème Patisserie and stir thoroughly to combine.

    gymnasiums

Planet Fitness is a joke. Seriously, a "Lunk Alarm"?? How about the free pizza Thursdays and the free candy?? PF is a place for people who have no interest in getting into shape. It's like Curves, except not just for women. LA Fitness, while a typical gym, is at least a real gym. They at least have equipment for squats...and frankly there's no chance of getting startled and injuring yourself because someone decided some dude grunted too loudly and throws the air-raid siren...er...lunk alarm.
