  1. "beginning of the end" ...it's been coming for at least 20 years. the rest of what you said, sounds like russian communism ( minus the last 2 things ) if that happens there is a simple remedy, but the work to become great again will be arduous.
  2. Hold IT!!! ok, let's pull back a little. DEM vs REP is different than liberal vs conservative. D v R can be anywhere on a 2 axis plane social vs economical , cause D and R are just labels people give each other and themselves. liberal and conservative are ideas on one axis, left and right. (typically)
  3. they put them in passports, you can break the chip with a hammer and it's supposed to still be legal. if this happens, will it be in commercial places? i bet not. this is horrible. your house becomes part of state property if this happens. and next they'll require remote switches for lights, then water use, then you won't be able to flush or take a shower at your own will. if you don't have control of what you do in your house, more taxes will come cause i wouldn't expect to pay any sort of energy bill for it. california's law makers are so socialist.... *shakes head*
  4. even a week a go my car seemed to crank very normally, but the past few days it's seemed labored, it still starts). it's getting closer to 7 months w/o changing my oil (thinking ~2500miles is plausible), my battery, I tested, is still 12.3+V. at ~145k would the starter be going bad or is it more likely it's a loose connection...or something else? any advice? i'll also be asking my dad about it.
  5. the reverse lights are very second thought.... bright LEDs to make up the fact they're tiny? the mirror looks odd with it's straight edges... just odd, not good or bad. V6 mule? the exhausts look small. the shark antenna looks stupid.. it's just too visible. Yes, i'm nitpicking, it's preproduction... it still looks fantastic, even in white!
  6. so do you doubly distrust republicans in government? hehe. there was a good recording of professors talk about whether there's a culture war in this country (on cspan2 last night). both pretty much agreed that the elite of the "right" and "left" have this going on, and it can trickle down to us (everyday people) sometimes when they get into local disputes and use them to further their ideals. they also agreed the bush lost by winning last election.

my friend down the street has a 3.4L impala, it's first shift point is above 45 close to low 50's i think, so if the tranny if pretty much the same as my 3.1's 2nd shift point would be around 100mph.... this lower ratio front diff is prolly why it feels unsporty. also the 3.4 is only 20hp more powerful than my 3.1 and only ~10lbft more too. anyone know the 3.8's shift points in the impala?

i don't have any experience with pre 160HP 3.1s, but my redline shifts are 40, 80, prolly 120. you can feel the power come on as the engine hits 4000rpms. mine has some off and on "hesitation" (SES "4th cylinder misfire" once and a while) that's evident in 3rd and worse in 4th below ~1.6k rpms. without that problem, it does seem like a great motor to me.
  9. +1 and not like it's much more expensive. just $5 more here. but paying $10 more for the possible 1.5M down .4M up
  10. The irs supposedly pays for ~40% of what the government does. (if we weren't borrowing from china and others) this massive amount of moneywould then be used in the economy: buying goods, investing, or put in savings (banks are supposed to use how much they have in savings for loans so they can give people interest on their savings.) hm... how bout this, you pay taxes directly out of your paycheck, you have deductions, you get money back. they took more money from you than they shold have, do they pay you interest on that money, no. it's like they own the money that from your paycheck, and just let you keep how much they want you to. oh, and if the irs audits you, the investigation is very guilty until you prove yourself innocent. that's not how it's supposed to work, we're supposed to always be innocent till proven guilt, that's how the courts are, yet the IRS doesn't go through the courts, so you don't have legal recourse. thusly it's a tyrannical institution.
  11. I don't want that... when will "the powers" understand that's what their doing, and it's not providing us more security.
  12. the revenue the irs pulls in lets Gov expand, the constitution was written to limit government. the irs was deemed unconstitutional by the courts when it was trying to be made. not to mention it's unfair to everyone, not a flat rate and it can be spent outside of your state, county, town/city.
  13. "you can't legislate morality" (or something very close to that) - RP

my 3.1 monte carlo got 37 ...most of it was ~55mph to 65mph in Indiana.. quite the flat state.
  15. My dad used to have one.. like 18 years ago. this will be awesome
  16. I would think it's very anti 1st amendment. private establishment... like laws that ban smoking in these "private areas", they don't care that it's a private establishment. st charles is on the west side of st louis.... on I-70 um.. st louis, being a large metro area, isn't known for being conservative. i'm ~1 1/2 south of st louis.
  17. cool, not totally surprising, but i think the most surprising part is the e-85 3.6L DI this should win over some high end wrangler shoppers
  18. scaning through the second one. he only voted Y 6 times for appropriation bills out of... maybe 50-70? hey, some of the tax money came from his district... it comes in, his district should get some of it back. he'd close the irs then these problems wouldn't be around.
  19. ..oil shocks (this time)... it's actually the destruction of the dollar. oil has stayed pretty much the same relative to the price of gold.
  20. actually, you should try to give an example. cause if you are complaining about earmarks, he takes everyone afraid to put thier name on earmarks and puts them under his name. it used to be an anonymous practice, not anymore. at least he's authoring ( or coauthoring ) legislation to audit the fed, kill the patriot act and other things. just saying. please give examples.
  21. while the system is broken don't you want to add more examples why it's bad, or add glut so that maybe others would not vote for it? ....it doesn't work and he shows that.
  22. looks ~4k more expensive than the outlook. not a fan of the front, but otherwise looks good.
  23. or playing sim ..society? haha. there was a comment on Gizmodo about.. lifesize mario.
  24. moi aussi...? looks good, the rear slope reminds me too much of RX3xx ( right? ) but otherwise.. i want to know more....
  25. ooooo, concept like console?!!!!
