Gosh, and I thought *I* was a C&G nerd...
the browsers could be random mismatched versions?....maybe. I saw an article awhile back about someone that made win3.1 use...at least 1 32bit-ish program i think. like for a faster internet experience/network driver. ?

2 movies
I saw Juno ~3 days ago, great flic, comedy inside a very serious topic. highly recommended Walk Hard : the Dewey Cox Story. Wow. awesome funny parts, some big stars in it, hilarious scene with "the Beatles", quite a few boobs, maybe 3 short parts with dicks in view...yeah... oh wait, it's still F'ning hilarious at least 80% of the time there isn't music being played. highly recommended anyone else seen above average movies recently?

Feds block California’s vehicle emissions rules
hey ...(sarcastic!) if all the people saying global warming is real and caused by us were to disappear. that's some gas not being used, and no CO2 exhaled in thier breath. even if their green, they still breath. CO2 as pollution, and needing to be regulated, is insane.

Are you ready for a stark new future?
you mean intervention changing the market? we're taxed to subsidize oil, and subsidizing the ethanol push and subsidizing farmers to make corn(right now) and the more corn produced is taking extra fertilizer, that ends up in rivers and is causing the dead zone in the gulf to expand. I support switching to cellulosic ethanol. but there aren't many plants doing that yet, and legislation is evidently needed to make it economically viable. pphhhhhhtttttttttt!!!!!!! I think we all cried a little when this Cafe bill was in the making. nothing like this has been done before. I hate it. some people will demand the rumble. instant power from ~0 rpm is what every person with a "fast" (think VW commercials) in them loves. -Oldsmoboi- about the price of the war... yeah, but we also base ~75,000 military personale in germany alone. how much has been spent doing that there, and all the other countries we "occupy" in this time of peace with them. we don't sit there for free.

Hypothesis: Wind Turbines in Automobiles
efficiencies of generators of this size are not high. and the cost to put one in for use in upto ~85 mph would either require active parts or some advanced materials...not be cheap. propulsion efficiencies increase as size decreases(generally) electrical generation efficiencies increase as size increases(generally)

Yeah, that sucked.
sorry to hear, especially from your own family members. here's to a new year full of great news and possibilities for everyone.

New EPA Fuel Mileage Estimates less accurate
I recently got ~16.5 on a tank of full city driving...a few miles a few ways, work, school, home. mostly home, work. the cold hurts my car pretty bad sometimes... but i also think my accelerating upto 2k or barely over doesn't help. gonna try to get up to 2.5K at least and see where that gets me next tank. but i need to change my oil too. that'll ruin my experiment. my oil now is ~6 months old and may have 2.5k miles on it.

relog-in screens

relog-in screens
any idea why relog-in screens pop up when going from ...page 1 to page 2 of a topic? it seems to happen a lot to me. I'm using FF2.0.11 (moving to FF3 when it's un beta'd, but have played with beta 2 a little)

Would you drive cars made in North Korea?
that pioneer radio is like 10 years old. didn't watch it all. a car from there would have to be substantially better than what we had at what ever price range it was offered for. a car that is "worth" 30K, being sold at 20, maybe even 15K. some would sell if it had a warrante and sold for 5K (granted it had good safety marks)

I require a shop
maybe just look into geothermal, if you've got the room, and could use the waste oil for supplemental heating?
