The truck will make it's official debut in a show guise at the 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show running from March 25 to April 5. “Trucks play a key role in most Southeast Asian markets. Nowhere is this more evident than in Thailand, where trucks like the Colorado are ingrained in the local lifestyle. It's rumored the US and Canada will be getting a version of this global Colorado, one that will be able to meet emissions and regulations within a couple years. The show truck previews the next-generation Colorado midsize pickup truck, which will build on Chevrolet’s strong truck DNA and award-winning heritage. Thailand was chosen as the site of the global debut because of the popularity of pickup trucks and the growing importance of the Thai market to Chevrolet. In 2010, the pickup truck segment accounted for 43 percent of vehicles sold in Thailand.   8. Ram Gets Some New Vans William Maley - Editor/Reporter - CheersandGears.com March 5, 2011 Chrysler is getting ready to enter the commercial van market once more. Their parent company, Fiat will send over the Ducato and Doblo and rebadge them as Ram. Ram president, Fred Diaz said the two vans would be going on sale next year as 2013 models. The Ducato will be competing with the Ford Econoline, Chevrolet Express/GMC Savana, Mercedes Sprinter, and just released Nissan NV while the Doblo will be taking on the Ford Transit Connect. The vehicles will be imported from Europe. Chrysler is now working getting the vans ready for the US market. No word on a engine lineup or whether the Ram versions will get different names. Honda and Acura divisions both posted increases of 21.7% and 20.8% respectably. The Accord was the top dog for the company with 22,916 vehicles sold. Other interesting points: CR-V was the big gainer in February with 61.4% increase The losers for Honda of February were the Accord Crosstour (29.7%), Insight (14.5%), and Ridgeline (7.5) Acura MDX was the big winner for Acura in February with 3,845 vehicles sold The RL was the loser for Acura this month, only selling 168 vehicles ZDX could be on the chopping block at the end of its life cycle due to poor sales, this month sales supports this.. 198 units sold for the month Hyundai Motor Company posted sales for the month of February of 43,533 units, an increase of 28%. Retail sales increased to 46% for the month. Other interesting points: Sonata still holds strong as the volume leader, selling 15,723 vehicles in February The losers for Hyundai this month were the Accent, Azera, and Santa Fe Hyundai's flagship, the Equus sold 233 vehicles this month Kia Motors America announced a 36.4% increase in sales for the month of February. Kia sold 32,806 vehicles, making this best February since last year. The Sorento is the best seller in Kia's lineup posting sales of 8,641 vehicles. Other interesting points: The Kia Rio was the only loser for the month, only selling 1,852 compared to 1,949 for February 2010 Big gainer for Kia would be the Soul, selling 6,684 for the month Mazda USA posted sales of 19,387 vehicles, an increase of 13.7% from last year. The big sellers for Mazda were their crossovers. The CX-9 sold 2,876 vehicles, up 42.8% and the CX-7 sold 2,357 vehicles, up 31.2%. Other interesting points: RX-8 only sold 72 vehicles this month, a drop of five vehicles from last February Mazda6 sales increased 16.9% to 2,838 vehicles Mitsubishi Motors North America announced February sales of 6,893 vehicles, an increase of 71% over last February. Subaru sold 21,683 vehicles this month. Other interesting points: No Subaru vehicles posted a drop in sales this month Impreza posted sales of 3,933 vehicles, a 40.3% jump American Suzuki posted sales of 1,643 vehicles, an increase of 19% from last February. Other interesting points: 3 people bought an XL7 in February Kizashi sold 351 vehicles, an increase of 60% Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A reported sales of 141,846 vehicles for February, an increase of 41.8%. Toyota and Lexus divisions posted sales of 128,032 and 13,814 vehicles respectably. This month is in the books as Audi's best February since 2007. Other interesting facts: A8 was the big gainer, sales increased 961.8% Only one car reported a drop in sales for February, the A3 (11.1%) Out of the 742 Q7s sold in February, 46.23% (About 343) were equipped with a TDI engine BMW reported sales of 16,416 vehicles for February, an increase of 8.7. Mini saw an increase off 22% in their sales for February, totaling around 3,503 vehicles. Other interesting facts: For it's first full month on sale, the BMW X3 sold 1,987, an increase of 446.1% The 3-Series, 6-Series, Z4, X5, and X6 all posted losses. Mini also posted losses for the Convertible and Clubman. Jaguar/Land Rover posted an increase of 16% for the month of February. Jaguar reported sales of 692 vehicles, a drop of 9% from last February. Land Rover saw sales increase 26% to 2,555 vehicles for the month. Other interesting facts: Range Rover Sport is the top seller with 984 vehicles sold, an increase of 24% Mercedes-Benz reported February sales of 16,176 vehicles, an increase of 5.1%. This month is their highest volume since February 2008. Other interesting facts: C-Class still the volume leader with 4,479, E-Class not far behind with 4,203 vehicles Two models posted losses for February: S-Class (7.8% ) and GLK-Class (12.8% ) The big gainer for February, the SLK with a 124.6% increase Porsche reported sales of 2,019 vehicles, a 32% increase over last year. This is the best February for Porsche since 2006. Total sales for passenger vehicles increased by 40%, led by the Chevrolet Cruze posting sales of 18,556 units. Small Crossovers are continuing kicking butts and taking names with the Equinox and Terrain increasing sales to 98% and 76% respectively. Other interesting points: 25% of Buick Regal Sales were for the CXL Turbo (About 926) 38% of Buick buyers were non-GM, 18% came from imports CTS was the big gainer for Cadillac this month, an increase of 124% to 6,033 2 people found brand new Trailblazers on dealer lots this month 46% of Chevrolet sales were vehicles equipped with 4-Cylinders Only three GM vehicles saw a drop in sales for February: Escalade (-9.8 ), Camaro (-3.7), and Savana (-6.5) Ford saw their sales in February jump 14% to 156,626 units. Retail sales were up 23% from last year. Dodge, Jeep, and Ram all reported gains in sales. Chrysler posted a 25% loss for February. Volkswagen of America Announces 18.5 Percent Increase in February Sales All-new Jetta leads sales, with strong performances from CC and Tiguan HERNDON, Va., March 1, 2011 -- Volkswagen of America, Inc. today reported 21,461 units sold in February 2011, an 18.5 percent increase over prior year sales. The company has sold 39,862 vehicles in the first two months of the year, a 10.3 percent increase over 2010. “We are excited to see such a strong performance from the all-new Jetta, particularly in the TDI Clean Diesel,” said Mark Barnes, Chief Operating Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “As gas prices increase, Volkswagen is providing our customers with a range of high mileage vehicles powered by TDI Clean Diesel technology – including the upcoming all-new Passat, which is expected to deliver 43 miles per gallon on the highway.” TDI Clean Diesel models represented 19.6 percent of overall sales for the brand. More than 57 percent of Golf vehicles sold in February were TDI models – a record high diesel mix for the Golf. The sporty CC enjoyed a dramatic 68.4 sales increase.   17. NISSAN NORTH AMERICA SALES RISE 31.6% FOR BEST-EVER FEBRUARY Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported record February U.S. sales of 92,370 units versus 70,189 units a year earlier, an increase of 31.6 percent. Nissan Division sales were up 31.8 percent for the month and also set a new February record. Sales of Infiniti vehicles rose 29.9 percent over the prior year. NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS Nissan Division posted a record February with 83,226 sales, an increase of 31.8 percent over 63,148 units sold in February 2010. Nissan Rogue posted its best month ever with 11,427 deliveries, up 86 percent over last February. Nissan Sentra sales totaled 12,599, up 62.2 percent over a year ago. Sales of Nissan’s top-selling Altima rose 28.5 percent over the prior year to 20,808 units. “Nissan enjoyed a record February on strong increases by several models, clearly led by the best-ever month for Rogue,” said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. “Even though February is a short month, we saw great customer traffic on models across our lineup, from Altima and Sentra sedans to Murano, Frontier, Pathfinder and Armada on the truck side.” INFINITI HIGHLIGHTS Infiniti today reported sales of 9,144 units for the month of February, an increase of 29.9 percent versus 7,041 units a year earlier. Sales of the Infiniti G Line rose 38.8 percent, with the popular G Sedan performing especially well with sales of 4,044 units, an increase of 50.6 percent. The Infiniti M luxury sedans and the Infiniti FX performance crossover also contributed to the brand’s growth, with sales increases of 44.2 and 20.3 percent, respectively. The Infiniti QX56 full-size luxury sport utility vehicle had another strong month with sales of 902, an increase of 11.6 percent. NOTE: To ensure consistency in global sales reporting, Nissan North America calculates monthly variances on a straight-percentage basis, unadjusted for the number of selling days.   18. Porsche Reports Sales Increase Best February Since 2006 ATLANTA, March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera Gran Turismo line-up in the United States, today announced February sales in the U.S. of 2,019 units compared to the same period last year when it sold 1,531, an increase of 32 percent. February's results represented the German sports car maker's best February sales total in the U.S. since 2006. It also marked the ninth consecutive month that Porsche has recorded double digit monthly sales increases over the previous year. So far in 2011, the company's sales are 4,419, compared to the same period last year when they were 3,317, an increase of 33 percent. Once again, Porsche's new-generation 2011 Cayenne was the brand's top-selling model with February sales of 936 versus last year when they were 599, an increase of 56 percent. Also worth noting in February was the performance of Porsche's four-door Panamera Gran Turismo with sales of 442 for the month, compared to 409 the year prior, an uptick of 8 percent. Sales of Porsche' renowned sports cars also enjoyed relative success in February. The company's mid-engine sports cars, the Boxster and the Cayman, recorded sales of 144 and 92, respectively. Compared to February 2010, Boxster sales were up 29 percent while the Cayman enjoyed an increase of 28 percent. Sales of the German automaker's iconic 911 sports were 405 compared to 339 in 2010, a rise of 19 percent. For the month, Porsche's Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales were 640, compared to 517 last year.

Mazda6 sales also were on the rise with 2,838 vehicles sold, up 16.9 percent. The Mazda6 offers all the standards in the mid-size sedan segment, but goes one-step further by adding style, performance, technology and passion that no other vehicle in class can offer. JAGUAR LAND ROVER REPORTS U.S. SALES FOR FEBRUARY Land Rover brand increases 26 percent for February Land Rover LR4 sales increase 81 percent Jaguar Land Rover North America up 16 percent for February MARCH 1, 2011 MAHWAH, NJ -- Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported February U.S. sales: Land Rover sales were 2,555 units, up 26 percent from 2,032 in February 2010; Jaguar sales were 692 units, down 9 percent from 761 in February 2010. Jaguar Land Rover North America February U.S. sales for both brands total 3,247 units, up 16 percent from 2,793 in February 2010. For 2011, year to date, Jaguar Land Rover North America sales are up 20 percent, with increases from both Jaguar and Land Rover. Jaguar Land Rover North America finished 2010 with sales up for the year (+18 percent), reflecting full year increases in both Jaguar (+12 percent) and Land Rover (+21 percent). "February was a mixed month for Jaguar Land Rover North America," said Jaguar Land Rover North America President Gary Temple. Mercedes-Benz Reports February Sales of 16,176 Sales Up 5.1% for the Month and 9.5% Year-to-Date MONTVALE, N.J., March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported February sales of 16,176 vehicles, a 5.1 % improvement over February 2010 and the highest February volume since 2008. On a year-to-date basis, the 33,449 vehicles sold represent a 9.5% increase. The highest volume performers for the month were the C- and E-Class model lines. The sporty C-Class – the gateway to the Mercedes-Benz brand for younger and first-time Mercedes-Benz buyers – lead the pack with sales of 4,479, up 5.5% over February 2010. The 9th generation E-Class continued its strong momentum with sales of 4,203, up 4% over February 2010. MBUSA's versatile SUV, the M-Class, followed in volume with sales of 1,924, up 16.3% compared to February 2010 while the compact GLK SUV trailed closely with sales of 1,853. At the high end, the iconic SL-Class was up 83.7%, followed by the commanding G-Class, up 40% and the CL flagship coupe increased by 35.1%. The company also sold 83 of its supercar -- the SLS AMG -- bringing its year-to-date sales to 153. Sales of Sprinter Vans increased by 38.3% for the month to 712 and to 1,587 on a year-to-date basis, up 66.9%. Separately, through the Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold 5,860 vehicles in February; a 4.8% decrease when compared to February 2010 (sales of 6,153 vehicles). On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 12,303 vehicles, a decrease of 0.6 % over the comparable period (with sales of 12,382).

BMW Group U.S. Reports February 2011 Sales BMW brand up 8.7% MINI up 22% - Best February Ever Woodcliff Lake, NJ – March 1, 2011… The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI combined) reported February sales of 19,919 vehicles, an increase of 10.8 percent from the 17,971 vehicles sold in the same month a year ago. “In a market affected by some nasty weather, the BMW and MINI brands continued their sales momentum led by some great new products,” said Jim O’Donnell, President and CEO of BMW of North America, LLC. “The recently launched X3 and MINI Countryman are showing good strength in the market.” BMW Brand Sales Sales of BMW brand vehicles increased 8.7 percent in February for a total of 16,416 compared to 15,100 vehicles sold in February, 2010. In February, best performing vehicles included the new X3 SAV – February was its first full month of U.S. sales - up 466.1 percent to 1,987 units; the 5 Series, up 85.6 percent to 4,212 units and the 7 Series, up 23.4 percent to 1,109 units. BMW Pre-Owned Vehicles In February, sales of BMW used vehicles (including certified pre-owned and pre-owned) increased 2.7 percent to 12,791 vehicles from the 12,459 vehicles sold in February 2010. MINI Brand Sales MINI USA reported its best February ever with sales of 3,503 automobiles in February, an increase of 22 percent from the 2,871 in February 2010. KIA MOTORS AMERICA ANNOUNCES RECORD FEBRUARY SALES Company Achieves 36-Percent Monthly Sales Increase; Up 31 Percent Year To Date IRVINE, Calif., March 1, 2011 - Kia Motors America (KMA) today announced the brand's best ever February sales of 32,806 units, besting the previous February record of 24,052 set in 2010 by 36.4 percent. Year-to-date sales are up 31.2 percent and the 2011 Sorento was KMA's best-selling vehicle for the 14th straight month. The February sales record marks KMA's sixth consecutive month of record sales.
