I don't know if some of you realize this, but the current LNF produces more tq over a wider range than the current LY7. In a sedan like the G8 they'd have to get the gearing just right, but I'm betting it would accelerate decently and get pretty damn good mileage. Edit: And it almost sounds like they want to Turbo the 2.4...so tq could be even greater.

The DTS and Buick both use the Non-VVT engine... ...not only that if GM chooses engine output can be controlled considerably by ECU tuning.

With proper head work the 4.6l is more than capable of 400hp...take a look at some of the N*'s used in Sandrails. With an aftermarket computer the VVT engines produce ~360hp, without head work.

That actually applies more to Acura...take a look at the entry lists on the Grand AM site... On this race's entry list there are... 9 Acura 8 BMW 5 Chevy Typically most, if not all, of the Acura's qualify...in fact at the first VIR race there was at least 10 Acuras on the track.

It just blows that Speed isn't airing it...not even on On Demand.

Tie-Rod It could be the outter ends, but would have to be pretty bad to be making any audible noise...and if it was that bad you would have noticed the tire(s) getting all torn up. Or bad tracking or shaking. You can check this by raising the front of the car, grabbing the tire at 3 and 9, and shaking (not hard enough to actually turn the wheels) while watching the tie-rod end. If there is movement (inner or outer) they're bad. The inner ends or something in the rack is much more likely...although even more likely than that it could be a broken sway bar link. Other Possibilities... Bad Strut Mount Bad Ball Joint Control Arm Bushings Sub-Frame Bushings I'm a Certified Suspension Tech and honestly the best thing to do is take it in to someone so that they can visually inspect the car.
