  1. Yeah, they show the Valve Cover and SD intake. If you seach for the Block and Head numbers on the GM Performance Parts site they'll come up, but w/out any pics or info.
  2. Yeah, but without the benefits VVT and Direct Injection it's worthless in a truck. If anything I'd build a Supercharged 2.5L Quad 4 Hybrid before using a smaller engine w/ fixed timing.
  3. It has some small spots of surface rust in a couple of areas where the paint has chipped off...but nothing some sandpaper and primer can't take care of. The steering box has way too much play in it. I still have to decide if I'm going to rebuild it or buy a junk yard piece. I know for sure there is no way I'm paying $200 for one from a parts store. I'd love to get the stripes off, but they're pretty baked on...I'd also love to take it to a good paint shop and have it resprayed...but I need a job before that happens. The doors also need new pins, need a coolant temp sensor, LR Wheel Cylinder and a new valve cover gasket. I've thought about the V8 swap, but it's not what I really want in a small truck. I was thinking about keeping an eye out for a junkyard 2.5L that I would have rebuilt w/ a comp cam and some mild head work. Then build a mild 8-12psi turbo kit using a medium T25 or TD04 turbo. The smallish turbo should spool quick allowing for a decent tq curve and approx 180-200hp (conservative). However, if GM ever offers the LNF 2.0T as a crate engine I would be all over it.
  4. Well, when I quit my job a year and a half ago I had to give my 01 S-10 back to the bank. Luckly this year I had a bit o' extra cash from student aid to buy this turd...er...I mean beautiful peice of machinery. 2.5L's of bone crushing fury... At least I know it's reliable 5-Speed Tacky dealer graphics...
  5. Yeah, It's been a while hasn't it... Anyway, I checked the Tucson Dealer Websites. Quebedeaux Pontiac Claims to have 3 Solstices in inventory (1 being a GXP)...but they don't have any actual pictures of the cars. Saturn of Tucson doesn't list any.
  6. Not really what I found interesting...It's more the fact in a world of people obsessed with Japanese cars for economy and the exotic/Jap/European in the sports/convertible catagories it's interesting to see GM products make the list. Heck, I think I even checked these lists a month ago and they were holding the same places.
  7. ~125ft/lbs in could be fun if they promise to make new new Aveo ~200lbs lighter than the old. Could you imagine the car w/ propane/nitrous injection and a good tune. You would have a 45+mpg daily driver that you could flip a switch on the weekends to have a 120hp/200ft-lb(just and guestimate) little terror...and not have to worry about damaging the engine. The Tans and Tires are another story...but I know I'd be in line to buy one.
  8. Funny...because I'm sure there are Better performing cars that get better mileage than a Boxter. In fact, aren't the Boxter S and Corvette pretty close in fuel Consumption.
  9. Complete BS in the case of the Ecotec, because of the twin scroll and VVT...It makes peak hp 1300rpm earlier and peak tq 250rpm earlier. In fact the ecotec makes ~220ft/lbs @ 1500rpm, you have to wait 1250 rpm for that in the BMW.
  10. 2.73 rear gear 35psi tire pressure replace o2 sensors good engine flush + injection flush (gm top engine cleaner using a pressure can) a set of flow matched injectors and a new fuel pump LT1 Edit and some dyno time
  11. So any news on GM reviving the Caddy LMP program? Honestly, I think it would be a great venue for GM to showcase that new small-block diesel.
  12. Honestly, I think they could do something like the Tesla Roadster. Fot those who don't know what a Tesla roadster is, it's a full electric car based off the Lotus Elise. The car does 0-60 in 4s, get 250 miles to the charge, and recharges in as little as 3.5hrs. Although, because of weight, it wouldn't be as fast as the Tesla...and would be significantly more expensive than any typical roadster...I think it would make a great "Flagship," if you will, to the GL Lineup.
  13. I think it would have looked a whole lot better with the Saturday Night Cruisers body pieces...maybe just opening the scoops in the bumper by an inch.
  14. Did the MT driver blow the launching of the GXP in 0-60 and the 1/4...or is the gearing on the GXP just that bad? I would think that since the GXP makes 40ft/lbs more tq and weighs a bit less it would get down the track a little quicker. Or possibly GM just needs a wider tire on the rear...
  15. They run Showroom Stock B they won the race at Grattan in Michigan...set a track record for the class too.
  16. Kinda looks like Ferrari's take on a Panoz compeditor with a couple extra seats.
  17. When Walgreens has them their usually 2/$3. I have 2 versions each of the '66 and '70 442's and one of the '55 Super 88.
  18. I suppose I can understand that, but how often do you see a McDonalds selling a Burger King Hamburger or Vise Versa? There are serious Loyalty issues.... Another thing that kinda gets under my skin are dealers that sell competeing Brands... IE Royal Buick here in Tucson...Land Rover/Hummer Suzuki/Kia and although Jaguar is upclass from Buick I would think if your Buick customer wanted to move upclass you'd direct them to a Caddy dealership.
  19. What the hay!?! I could have sworning there use to be a section where people could ask general questions or make statements on GM a whole. Anyway do you believe GM's Dealerships harming sales buy focusing too much on their used car departments? I got to thinking about this months ago, and it popped into my mind again this morning when I turned on the TV. Every, few weeks or so the local Pontiac/GMC dealer buys a load of time on a local station to try to sell cars...but rarely do you ever see them trying to sell actual Pontiac's and/or GMC's. This morning in fact all I saw were Dodges, that included Magnums, Rams, Durangos, and Neons w/ less than 20k miles on them. I've also noticed that if you walk onto any lot a salesperson is more likely to help you in the used car sections than the New sections. I understand that these dealers make huge profits off used car sales, however, is this really fair to the Manufactures names they have on their signs? Should GM institute some rule that forces these dealers to seperate their used and new car businesses by X amount of miles? Curious to hear what people think...
  20. Feb 1996 Hot Rod... I have it sitting right in front of me. Built by Jon Moss...and had those horendus 17" Boyd wheels.
  21. Hmmm... The only thing I think I've done ghetto was when the resonator broke of my sisters intake tube on her Altima. The hole is the same size a C battery, added a hose clamp and called it done. Still got to get around to making a plug out of something else.
  22. So is this going to affect development of the future AWD Saabs?
  23. Switch back to Stock bodies and Frames, or change the name...thats my opinion. A lot of what I hear people saying is that Nascar is the way it is because of safety issues. IMO, they coould have put restrictions on the engines power instead of switching to thow away bodies and tube frames. Then they could have also made a new class for the cars they used today. IMO, the Grand Am cup is more NASCAR than Nascar is. Nascar really isn't about racing anymore its about politics and making sure your sponsors get mentioned a million times. I really don't care how physicly demanding or trained these drivers are...It took weeks for my dog to figure out how to chase its own tail without running into anything in the living room...doesn't mean I'm going to slap stickers on him and put it on 5 different channels all weekend.
