  1. Even Car and Driver could not get better than 16mpg combined for the S63. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-mercedes-benz-s63-amg-first-drive-review This in comparison to friends who have CTS-V's and get 16-18 city driving and 21-24 highway. so a combined 18-20.
  2. Me thinks you have been hitting the Giggle Weed a bit too much. The CTS-V does much better on MPG than this over rated S. For what is being asked here dollar wise, you get better value and I feel a better over all auto than this S63.
  3. Interesting, Will take a wait and see attitude if this really makes a change that has growth.
  4. A while back I posted about Warren Buffet having his daughter buy a new car for him here in the Industry News Section. http://www.cheersandgears.com/topic/83514-gm-cadillac-dealer-experiance-praised-by-warren-buffett/ This story about Warren Buffet and his purchase of a Cadillac XTS goes more into detail about his conversation with Barra and his Advice to her. To Quote: As for Barra and General Motors? Buffett thinks she’s “terrific” and said he offered her some advice, based on his own experience steering Salomon Brothers through a devastating bond-trading scandal in the early 1990s. “When you have a problem, get it right, get it fast, get it out and get it over. That’s what I told her.” He says GM’s current crisis will pass. “In the end, it will be what they do over the next 10 years that counts. They’ve got to deal with the past. It’s not easy, but she’s the person to do it.” Seems she has taken it to heart and while some on this Forum seem to think GM is struggling to survive, Mr. Buffett is correct in that getting this all addressed now and out of the way will make GM a stronger company over the long run and what they do over the next 10 years will have major impact on how GM is seen by the global buying public.
  5. Very interesting, thanks for sharing and taking the time to also do photo's. I am sure many will find benefit in this.
  6. So after a weekend of driving the CTS4 2.0T I can say I love the Dash! But I have to Say I hate the 2.0T Why love the dash? Customization. I was able to have all the info I wanted quickly right in front of me and the over all controls and interaction was fast, easy to understand and made total logical sense. Why Hate the 2.0T engine? Lag, Lag, Lag and pathetic MPG. Yes this engine makes horsepower and easily moves the AWD CTS smoothly and quickly. Yes with that said, you have noticeable lag between 15 and 30MPH. I triad all the modes and it did not make any sense, you always have this noticeable lag and then boom power. MPG, Made 4 Trips on the Highway cruising along for 120 miles the first time and 171 miles the second trip. Both trips I never got better than 21.7MPG. At this point, I say get the V6, a far superior smooth engine then turbo garbage. Comfort level was great. The seats for as big as I am were very comfy and supportive. Love the Sky roof this CTS4 has and the Bluetooth connectivity for phones and USB 3.0 ports for charging. Over all I would have no problem recommending the CTS4 to anyone and would state they get the V6.
  7. Holy Grail would be to have a 200 Mile Range Electric Pickup that truly can be used by the construction industry the way trucks are worked hard and then you have a major seller.
  8. GM is as SMK says a Truck / SUV / CUV and Sedan builder. Forget the Hot Hatch, What GM should Build: Chevy Equinox SS, replacement for the Trailblazer SS GMC Typhoon and Syclone Buick Regal GNX AWD and Encore GNX AWD Cadillac Escalade V edition, LTS, XTS, CTS and ATS V editions.
  9. Strange tiding we be living in but Zero-cylinder auto's will be found in all levels from entry to extreme luxury!
  10. Love the Idea of a Mid Engine but as a Cadillac Super Car. Leave the Corvette as it is for Chevy!
  11. Hard to believe the teen expressed remorse when he is clearly laughing and having a grand ol time after abusing that cat. I personally do not like cats but I love dogs and I expect respect for all animals no matter how you feel about them. How would this teen like to be kicked like that!
  12. I like your thinking and agree that there is plenty of room to expand the options on all division auto's based on programming of the engines.
  13. Sweet Mod, I agree with you that I do like your grill much better than the Denali.
  14. Exciting, My parent just might have a new SRX. They love their First Generation RWD and were not happy with the lack of space in the current SRX. Hopefully 3rd generation will be the charm for them.
  15. Happy Birthday, Have a Great One!
  16. So a full day in the CTS4 Loaner with the Turbo 4 banger. Still impress, I reset the MPG average and for a day of stomping on it and driving it around town, I am averaging 20.5mpg as of this morning.
  17. Totally Disagree with you, my Trailbazer SS handles better than many sports cars. LoL....maybe 50 year old sports cars on bias-ply tires... He is not totally incorrect. This was eight years ago: - Not a faint praise for a vehicle conceived in possibly the worst of GM's phase. I have had my 2008 AWD SS Trailblazer consistently in the 120-140 range and it was firm and planted and handled curvy roads. A new Mustang could not keep up with me on the North Cascade Highway, considered one of the 10 best drives in North America. The only cars to fly by me was a Corvette ZR1 and they were thumbs up on my driving and a Porsche GT3. If you have never driven a Trailblazer SS, you need to as it is an amazing ride for a SUV body on a Corvette Setup.
  18. Just got back from taking my parents to dinner. I am really impressed with how smooth handling and quiet the new CTS is over the 1st generation. The car is really surprising me and I believe Cadillac would benefit by having more road shows of letting people compare CTS to 5 series / e class and ATS to 3 series / c class. Cadillac really stomps on the Germans.
  19. Guess now that there is nothing really critical that clearly sets ATS and BMW 3 series apart they have to nit pick and the only thing they could find was back seat because all the 3 series lovers are now fat married and wish they had more room. Time to go to the CTS but then these folks probably cannot really afford a 5 series and they will still complain due to how much better the CTS is over the 5 series.
  20. Not sure I totally agree with you SMK as the ELR's are hard to keep in stock here at the dealerships. So I would have to say they are selling.
  21. Yes, I meant to say against the 5 series and E series but like everyone so many years of the CTS being against the 3 series and C series.
  22. G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Toyota i-ROAD EV So in looking around at what other EV auto's were being talked about, I found Toyota has a 3 wheel bike that is enclosed called the i-ROAD. Powered by two 2kW 2.7HP motors using lithium-ion battery pack good for a range of 26 miles of inner city driving. EV.COM states that according to Toyota, the 2016 world wide version will have a 31 mile range based on an average speed of 18mph. The following video shows the i-ROAD in use around Toyota City. What are your thoughts, does the i-ROAD have a chance of making it in a global market?
